In a thrilling match at the Starshine Cricket Ground in Kadarpur, Scorchers put up a formidable total against X1 Gers in the 14th league match of the Ultra Edge Season 3 Super 7 Cup Co-Powered by Cric Willworforu. Winning the toss, Scorchers elected to bat first and showcased a strong batting performance.
Scorchers posted a challenging total of 176/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Sooraj Bhalla displayed his class with a magnificent innings of 78 runs off 51 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes. Chandan provided valuable support with a quickfire knock of 41 runs in just 21 deliveries, featuring 6 fours and 1 six. Siddharth also made a significant contribution, scoring 36 runs off 28 balls with 3 fours and 1 six.
X1 Gers bowlers put in a commendable effort, with Arvind, Akshit, Mihir, and Ajay taking one wicket each.
Chasing the target of 177 runs, X1 Gers struggled to maintain the required run rate and managed to score 119/9 in their 20 overs. Sunny contributed 10 runs, while Amit, Mihir, and Sandy scored 16, 18, and 19 runs respectively.
Scorchers’ Situ Raj Yadav was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets in his 4 overs while conceding 22 runs. Lalit, the captain, bowled economically, taking 1 wicket for 17 runs in his 4 overs. Arjun also impressed with his bowling, picking up 3 wickets for 21 runs in his 4 overs. Tarang contributed with 1 wicket as well.
With this victory, Scorchers further solidified their position as contenders for the finals of the Ultra Edge Season 3 Super 7 Cup. Their consistent performances throughout the tournament have been impressive, and they continue to showcase their prowess in both batting and bowling.
