Saurabh Tripathy does a Lynn show as he scores 119 off mere 60balls in the semis of the JD Sports Tournament
It was the all-important semi-finals of the JD Sports Tournament between IDFC & GEBS at the MB union cross maidan in Mumbai. The match was a complete entertainment all thanks to Saurabh tripathy’s fireworks with the bat inside the stadium. IDFC won the toss & elected to bowl first with an aim of restricting GEBS to a low total and putting the opposition under pressure.
Unintentionally batting first did reap rewards as GEBS managed to score a very healthy total of 223/5 in 20 overs. Opener Saurabh Tripathy made complete mayhem of the bowlers as he went on to score one of the most brutal hundreds of the tournament scoring 119 off mere 60balls. Saurabh completely decimitated the bowlers in every corner of the ground smashing 8fours & 5 big sixes enroute his 60ball stay at the crease where he played at a strike rate of almost 200. Rohan & Jigar also chipped in with a quick 21 & 28respectively to push the score to a highly defendable one.
Chasing 224 at 11runs per over, things just got difficult for IDFC as they were bundled out for just 129/10 in 19overs. The bowlers did a really good job of restricting the batsman while also taking wickets at regular intervals. Darshan was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/17 followed by 2wtks for Raja.
GEBS won the match by 94 runs & win the semi-finals while opener Saurabh Tripathy was declared ‘man of the match’ for his promising hundred. Cricketgraph congratulates Saurabh & the whole team for putting up such a good show & wishes them all the luck for a great future ahead.
