Sanket Steers Deutsche Bank To A Championship Victory As CITI Fall Short

Deutsche Bank were crowned the APL Pattem Banks Champions in season 2 as they defeated CITI Bank in a thrilling game of cricket. Deutsche managed just 156 in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Sanket Kankonkar hammered 79 off just 40 deliveries. His innings was as crucial as it got as his team had lost 5 wickets for just 61 by the 10th over. Forming minor partnerships along the way, Sanket managed to get his team to a competitive total.

Vinayak Pillaii bowled exceptionally, claiming 2/14 in just 4 overs. Skipper Rahul Soni took 2 wickets as well. An underrated bowler was Rohan Sawant, bowling at an economy rate of just 2.75 in 4 overs.

CITI bank were immediately put under pressure as they lost half their side for just 38. Sagar and Rahul spiked a spirited comeback with the bat but the Deutsche bowlers were too good on the day, bowling out CITI for just 133. Nikesh claimed 4 wickets in his 4 over spell, conceding 23 runs. Vinayak Varma was amongst the wickets too, picking up 2 of them. With a monumental bowling effort, Deutsche won the game and sealed the championship by 23 runs.
