Mumbai Police City Riders vs Thane Marathas on 2nd May
Earlier in the morning. Mumbai Police after being put to bat first at the Police Gymkhana Ground managed to reach a very healthy total of 200/7 in 20 overs. Opener Mayur Sanap who is in terrific form with the bat smashed his 5th half century in last 6 T20 games as his form reminds you of David Warner’s consistency in the IPL. Sanap opening the innings scored a blazing 64 off 44 balls (5 fours, 4 sixes) while brutal hitting by Rohit Pol (42 off 16 which had 6 sixes) and Aiswarya Surve (28 off 11) at the middle order ensured Mumbai Police had a big total in hand.
Thane Marathas did provide a fight despite a sloppy start by the top order. All-Rounders Yogesh Pawar (44 off 24) & Iqbal Abdullah (47 off 23) at the middle order looked dangerous at one stage but Santosh Shinde (3/39) and Anirudh Mainkar (2/18) gave breakthroughs at crucial junctures as Thane Marathas reached a total of 175/6 in 20 overs.
Mumbai Police City Riders won the match while Mayur Sanap was declared ‘man of the match’

Shivaji Park Warriors despite Sachin Yadav’s heroics at no.3 lacked any batsman who could give him support. Sachin scored a fighting knock of 70 runs in 51 balls but the 2nd highest score in his team was 28 by P.Valsangkar. In what was a thriller which remained exciting till the very last ball, Thane Marathas won the match by just 1 run as the fate of the match was decided by the last ball of the innings.
It was a close shave win for Thane Marathas while Yogesh Pawar for his all-round show of 39 & 2wkts was declared ‘man of the match’
