Royston scalps 6wkts for Payyade while Farhan takes a 5wkt haul for Fort Vijay in the Kanga League 2017/18

 Held at the Azad Maidan ground in Mumbai, two experienced and strong teams namely Fort Vijay CC and Payyade SC clashed with each other where in Payyade won the toss & elected to bowl first in order to restrict the strong batting line up of Fort Vijay to a low total. Their decision to bowl first was quite spot on as Fort Vijay managed to score only 148/10 in 49.1 overs. Openers Divyansh (29 off 55) and Gandhar(43 off 90) gave a solid start but the rest of the batsman below them could not capitalize. Left-arm seamer Royston Dias impressed one and all with his terrific display of pace bowling coming up with envious bowling figures of 6/33 which included 5maidens in his tight spell of 13.1 overs. Rohan Raje was also impressive as he took 4/13 in 13 overs.

In reply, Payyade SC scored 137/9 in 26 overs before the end of the game’s play. Opener Praful Waghela top scored in the match with a fiery 34ball 54 which consisted impressive strokeplay. Experienced left-arm spinner Farhan Kazi was back to business as he did what he does best as he was the pick of the bowlers with bowling figures of 5/35 in 8 overs. It was a close match where Fort Vijay fell short of just 1wkt from a win. The match was drawn but it was Royston & Farhan’s bowling which was the highlight perfomance of the match.
