Rakesh, Padmanubham, Rohan and Yogesh fire together as KRP XI cruises to semis of the Kanga Knockout Tournament ‘18

KRP XI has always been a team to reckon with because of their balance in the side. They have a solid top order batting while the depth of their batting is there till almost no.7 and 8 with as many as 4 all-rounders in the side making it a very strong team. They have performed exceptionally well in Kanga Knockout and it was the deciding quarter-finals vs Stylo Cricketers at the Western Railways Ground.

Yogesh Rajput and Rakesh Naik

KRP XI after being made to bat first were least affected as they went on to score a very healthy total of 297/9 in 45 overs. Even though it was a shaky start but solid no.3 bat Yogesh Rajput scored a crucial 54 off 55balls (7fours) lending stability. KRP XI has always stood out because of its middle order and even in this match it was their middle order consisting of Yuvang Shah, Rakesh Naik and Rohan Chowghule who did the job for their team. While Yuvang chipped in with a handy 41, Rakesh Naik continued his good all-round form scoring a superlative 50 off 53balls consisting of 4fours and 2sixes while the talented Rohan Chowghule who came at no.7 basically changed the game attacking the bowlers and hitting almost every one in every corner of the ground. Rohan scored 64 off mere 38balls (5fours, 4sixes) which pushed the team total to almost 300. From the bowlers, Rahul Bhadreshwar with 4/50 was the pick of the bowlers.

Rahul Bhadreshwar who took 4wkts while also scored a half century at no.10 for Stylo Cricketers

Chasing 298 is always difficult in 45 overs and KRP XI bowlers just made it all the more difficult with Padmanubham Mudaliar coming up with a match winning bowling spell of 5/26 in 9overs with 2 maidens. Padmanubham was completely focused and in a different zone while bowling and it helped hin as well as his team while Rakesh Naik and Manoj Soni also came good with 2wkts each restricting Stylo Cricketers to 143/all out in 35.5overs. Rahul Bhadreshwar seemed like a lone warrior not only being Stylo’s best bowler but also scoring a hard fought 56 off 55balls at no.10.

KRP XI won the quarter finals on the back of great team perfomance while Rahul Bhadreshwar also won the hearts of many with his all-round fight against KRP XI.
