Quickster Pranay Belamkar scalps six while Cahir’s batting steers their team to wins in the U/11 Masters Cup ‘17
Played at the Santosh Sports Academy Ground, the tournament which has been sponsored by Hindustan pencil LTD & NATRAJ PEN has been an excellent platform for youngsters to showcase their cricketing skills as many boys have impressed and one of them has definitely been Pranay Belamkar who is showing a lot of promise with the ball at this age.
It was the third match between SANTOSH SPORTS CRICKET ACADEMY KALYAN vs speed cricket Academy Thane where in Speed cricket academy team won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Santosh Sports Academy Kalyan were all out for 109runs in 20 overs where in Apoorva Gite and Pawan Khatri top scored with 39 & 32. Prabhav Ghomse and Ishan Gove were the pick of the bowlers taking 3wkts each. Chasing 110 is not the toughest of tasks and most of the times it can be successfully chased but SPCA had one weapon with them which they unleashed it with the ball and it was their fast bowler Pranay Belamkar who bowled a fantastic spell of 6/28 in 3.2 overs which restricted the opposition to 107 in a thriller of a chase which SPCA defended. Pranay bowled with excellent line and length along with good pace which reaped rewards for him as well as his team. SPCA Kalyan won the match by just 2runs in a nail biting match where Pranay was declared ‘man of the match’
In the 2nd match between BHIS & Kumud CC (Kalyan), BHIS won the toss and elected to bat first where-in they notched up 134runs in 20 overs. Opener Arjun Bagaitkar gave a good start with a solid 32 while Cahir Warik at the middle order gave a crucial contribution of 37 off just 32balls (5fours) which helped his team reach a respectable total. In reply, BHIS restricted Kumud CC to just 51runs all out where in Aarush, soham and Riyansh all chipped in with 2wkts each. BHIS won the match by 83runs and Cahir was declared ‘man of the match’.
