Powai CA crush Bhosle CA by 10 wickets in MD Memorial Cup

Powai CA registered a comprehensive 10-wicket win against Bhosle CA on January 6 during the MD Memorial Cup. Powai CA chased down 110 in 13.2 overs.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Bhosle CA were restricted to a paltry 109/9 in 20 overs. Deep Kanojiya (22) and Vivaansh Ghosh (16) were the only batters to score in double digits for Bhosle CA. On the other hand, Powai CA’s Hridhan Singh Rauthan was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 14/3 in four overs.

In reply, Powai CA cruised to the target in a jiffy. The opening pair of Atharva Kore (62 not out) and Vikas (28 not out) completed the formalities at a canter. Kore led the run chase from the front and smashed eight boundaries and a six in his entertaining knock. On the other hand, Bhosle CA’s bowlers had an off day as they failed to pick up even a single wicket.

Cricket is a sport that Juili picked up right from her childhood days. Her journey from playing with the boys in the compound walls to practising under the able aegis of Jonty Rhodes has been a spectacular one.
She was a part of Mumbai Women’s U-19 and U-23 probables during her four-year stint at the MCA. As a middle order bat and a part time medium pace bowler, she also represented Mumbai University at All-India University Women’s Cricket for two years.

In the quest of further education, she discontinued with the sport. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Finance from IIT Bombay’s School of Management.
