Piramal team wins on the back of Rohan Joshi’s brisk 81 in the Chanawala Corporate T40 Tournament-‘18
Played at the Parsee Cyclists, it was a 40overs one day match between Piramal Healhcare and TIFR Sports Club where in Piramal Healthcare won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, Piramal Healthcare were all out for 207runs in 36overs which is a moderate total to defend for a 40 over match. Most of the batsman did not manage to make much of an impact as they chipped in with starts but were not able to convert their 10’s and 20’s. However, it was opener Rohan Joshi who looked really solid as he scored a timely knock of 81runs. Rohan smashed 81 off 78balls and mostly dealt with boundaries as he smashed 15fours covering almost every corner of the ground. From the bowlers, Mohsin Shaikh and Subhodh B were the pick of the bowlers taking 4wkts each.
Defending a total of 208, the pressure was more on the bowlers as the batsman only required 5runs an over to chase it down successfully. However, TIFR Sports Club were restricted to 188/all out in 35.2overs with opener Mandar Sawant’s 51 and Naresh’s 41 falling in vain. It was a collectively tight bowling perfomance with Vinayak Mistry bagging 3wkts while Gauran Solanki, skipper Rahul Kulkarni and Vaibhav Bogate taking 2wkts each.
Piramal Healthcare won the match by 19runs while opener Rohan Joshi was declared ‘man of the match’ for his match winning 81.
