Openers Suved & Tanmay seal the game while Vikrant smashes a fighting 127 in the Talim Shield Tournament ‘18
Played at the MIG Cricket Club, two promising teams of Mumbai namely Parkophene Cricketers and Payyade Cricket Club took on each other where in Parkophene boys won the toss and elected to field first with an aim of winning while chasing a low total.
However, Payyade boys did a fairly decent job with the bat notching up 308runs in 45 overs. Opener Usaid scored a timely 58 off 64balls while the experienced Vikrant Auti who came in at no.3 set the tone for the Payyade innings as he went on to score an attacking 127 off just 104balls. Vikrant who smashed 13fours and 3sixes looked really good and did good running between the wickets. He also scored a big ton recently in Times Shield, so he is certainly looking in good form. Parag K at the middle order also chipped in with 44 while Quickster Badree Alam and experienced Pardeep Sahu took 2wkts each.
Chasing a 300 plus score is not always easy, in fact it’s tough. However their openers- promising Suved Parkar and the experienced Tanmay Mishra gave a thumping 179run stand which completed more than half of the job. While the talented Suved smashed a brutal 100 off mere 75deliveries (12fours, 3sixes), Tanmay on the other hand fell just one run short of an elegant 100. Tanmay was dismissed on 99(104b, 13fours and a six) by Kalpesh Sawant but by the damage was already done. Salman Ahmed’s valiant 50 off 48balls at no.5 made sure they chased down the score successfully as Parkophene Cricketers won the match by 2wkts and an over to spare. It was a well fought match by both the teams where in Vikrant, Tanmay and Suved stood out with their individual performances.
