NWT’s Swayam khanvilkar shines with both the willow and the ball against FGTIS in Salim durani T20 trophy 2019-20.
Salim Durani T20 Trophy 2019-20 – New way travels pvt ltd (NWT) VS Future Generali Total Insurance solution (FGTIS), the match was played at New Era cricket academy, Azad maidan on 22nd February, 2020. Future Generali Total Insurance Solution (FGTIS) won the toss and elected to BAT first.
Opener Nithin Joseph and fellow opener Sumedh Nikam stitched a sturdy partnership of 72 runs for the first wicket.Nithin lead the attack with an aggressive intent while Sumedh played patiently and rotated the strike to give the maximum chances to Nithin. Nithin scored a fantastic 57 runs off 44 balls. The middle order lot failed to put any impact rather lower order batsman Nikhil Hindlekar scored a super quick 21 runs off 10 balls. In spite of getting off to a flying start, they ended up scoring a mediocre total of 134 runs losing 6 wickets. For NWT, Sandeep Mundaye and Sayyam Khanvikar picked up 2 wickets each, especially Sandeep who bowled an impressive spell of 2 for 16 in 4 overs.
In response, NWT’s openers Tusharkamat and Sayyamkhanvilkarexhibited a soliloquy with their bats. They dominated the opposition from ball and played very nonchalantly and wisely, they rotated the strike smartly and also punished the bad balls without any risky shots. Tushar scored 64 off 44 balls and Sayyam scored 62 off 54 balls. They chased down the target in just 16.2 overs and won the match one-sided. FGTIS’s bowling look completely out of sorts, they tried out 8 different options in 16 overs which indicates lack of confidence on bowling option to defend a tiny score.
RESULT- New way Travels won the match by 10 wickets.
