Mehak Malik’s quick 43 and Jitender’s bowling steers Adib to a win in the Skyline Champions League

Played at the Skyline Cricket Ground at Gurgaon, it was a match between Adib and Spartans 1 where in Spartans won the toss and elected to bowl first in order to restrict the opposition to a low total and put them under pressure.

Batting first, Adib scored 168/5 in 20 overs which is a fairly decent score to defend in a T20 game. Opener Saurabh Malik gave a good start with a 19ball 31 but it was Mehar Malik down the order who changed the script of the game with his 43* off just 23balls. Mehar smashed 5fours and 2sixes at a strike rate of 187 to take his team to a very competitive total. From the bowling side, it was Amit who was the pick of the bowlers with 3/36 in 4 overs.

In reply, Spartans gave a tough fight but eventually fell short of just 8runs to win a thriller of a match.  Spartans were all out for 161 and Adib won the match by 8runs. Jitender Kumar from Adib came up with a match winning & a economic spell of 3/24 in 4 overs which also earned him a ‘man of the match award”
