Meer Rizvi takes 6wkts and scores 82* vs Thane Centre in the Kalpesh Koli Tournament
Players like Meer are proving why all-rounders are always a vital cog in the side. On their day they can take you home with a win single handedly & that’s the USP of an all-rounder. One such match where we got to see a nice perfomance was between Thane Centre & Mahul Centre at the DPCC (Dadar Parsee Colony) ground in Matunga where Thane won the toss & elected to bat first.
Batting first, Thane Center were all out for 155/10 in the 1st innings which wasn’t the biggest of totals to give a trail to the opposition. Though none of the batsman fired but Parth ingle & Yash Jathar looked good with 35 & 37* respectively. From the bowling side, right-arm off spinner Meer Rizvi was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/14. Meer also got a great support from the other bowlers who bowled tight around him. Trailing 155, Thane boys gave a tough fight but Mahul eventually managed to cross the trail declaring at 156/9 in 48overs. Vaibhav Kambli was the pick of the batsman scoring 39 while Saud Mansoori, Maz Shaikh & Om Keshkamath chipped in with 3wkts each for Thane. In the 2nd innings, Thane was again bundled out for 138/10 giving a target of 138 to Mahul Center. Asad Shaikh scored a brilliant and fighting 82 but lacked support from the other end. Once again Meer Rizvi chipped in with 3wkts in the 2nd innings making his tally of wkts to 6 in the match.
Chasing 138, Mahul boys chased down the score in just 34 overs and won the match by a comfortable margin of 7wkts. Meer who had already taken 6wkts in the game also did a wonderful job with the bat. Right-handed Meer Rizvi smashed a solid looking 82* where he smashed runs comfortably in every corner of the ground.
Mahul Center won the match & Meer Rizvi was declared ‘man of the match’ for his all-round perfomance. Cricketgraph congratulates Meer for his fabulous perfomance & also wishes Meer and his team all the luck for a promising future ahead.
