Leg-Spinner Vivek Das’s fifer helps MRV Academy beat Sehwag Academy in the U/12 Saksham Tournament

Coming from a humble background, Vivek das’s perfomance must have made his family and teammates proud as the 12 yr old dismantled the opposition’s batting line-up with a stunning fifer with his effective off spin.

Played at the MRV School, Sector 13 in Dwarka, it was a competition between two big teams namely MRV academy & Sehwag Academy as both the teams are competitive. On a track which was supportive for bowlers, Sehwag Academy which batted first scored 84/10 in 25 overs which was not a good score to defend. The team was all-out for a low total and thanks to some tight bowling by MRV & especially right-arm leg spinner Vivek Das who completely bamboozled the batsman with his effective leg spinners. Vivek came up with envious bowling figures of 5/21 which eventually restricted Sehwag Academy to just 84 runs.

MRV Academy in reply chased down the score comfortably in mere 60balls i.e 10 overs with the loss of just 5wkts. Sahil Khan smashed an aggressive 48 while Aditya Natnini remained unbeaten on 20*. MRV Academy won the match in style by 5wkts & Vivek Das was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his promising bowling spell.
