Capgemini had a very good chance of registering a hard fought win mainly thanks to their opener Jitendra Panchal. Jitendra showed a big heart scoring 108 runs off 115 balls. But he got absolutely no support from the other. Once he was removed, Capgemini lost all their hopes and conceded a 28 run victory to All Cargo. It was a good satisfying win for All Cargo. Vishwas Shinde was adjudged Man of the Match for a fine opening knock.

In one of the high scoring matches this weekend in the Mumbai corporate tournaments, Naaptol online beat Babyoye by 3 wickets and 7 balls to spare.

This match of the well known Milan trophy, which was played at Cross maidan, Churchgate, Naaptol online elected to field first after winning the toss. Babyoye posted a respectable score of 183 runs in their 20 overs with major contributions from Vinay Naik, Swapnil and Sachin Khot. Sachin was unfortunate to miss his half century by just a run. Nevertheless 183 was a formidable total batting first. Srinivas and Nilesh of Naaptol took 2 wickets each while opening bowler Ashish showed excellent control giving away only 15 runs in his 4 overs.

Naaptol’s top order was upto the task and each of top 3 performed. Special mention needs to be given to opener Abhishek Pande who scored a quick half century (59 runs off 40 balls). Other opener Moez Khan and Ashish amin scored 25 and 41 respectively. But Naaptol kept losing wickets at regular intervals. It was the extras that cost Babyoye too much. Even though Naaptol kept losing wickets they did pretty good on the required run rate and eventually run this high scoring encounter by 3 wickets and 7 balls to spare.

Abhishek Pande was declared Man of the Match!!!

In another one sided match of the last league match of AT20, SSA Strikers defeated Collage sports by a huge 145 runs.

Batting first SSA scored a massive 214 runs. All top 6 batsmen except Bele, scored quickly helping SSA with 214. Shirke scored patient 52 off 50 balls while Koli scored brisk 59 off 24 balls. Awate was the only bright spot for Collage who took 2 wickets while conceding only 7 RPO in his spell.

Collage innings folded for mere 69 runs in 17 overs. Gujar took 3 wickets while Gawade and Surve took 2 wickets each. For Collage Design only one batsman, Lad, was able to reach double figures, scoring 25 runs.

Mahesh was at his usual best once again in the match between Edifice Consultant’s Private Limited and STUP Supersonics in the final league match of the AT20 tournament.

Edifice batting first scored a mammoth 216 runs in 20 overs. Mahesh was the top scorer scoring 54 off just 25 balls hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes. Jivani, Sarangan and Jadhav in the middle order played little cameos helping post a more than healthy total for Edifice.

In reply STUP could muster only 85 runs but surprisingly managed to play out their 20 overs. Mahesh was again the star with the ball taking 3 scalps in his 4 overs giving away only 17 runs.

There were no surprises as Mahesh was chosen Man of the Match for the second match in a row.

In the match between Zuentus and Cleartrip played at M. B. Union ground, Zuentus won the toss and chose  to bat first. Zuentus opener, Chetan Khetan played a good knock scoring 54 off just 43 balls. He was well complemented by middle order batsman Makarand. They both help Zuentus put up a decent total 154 on board. Shakir of Cleartrip was exceptional with the ball picking up 4 wickets for 32 runs.

Tournament : Architects League AT20                          Event Organizer : One World of Sports

The League stages of renowned AT20 (Architects Championship Trophy) is coming to an end. This weekend’s matches pose some interesting and pressure situations for teams to qualify for the knock out stage.

Based on various team’s current position, event organizer, One world of Sports has compiled a report detailing various scenarios for teams to progress. While 4 teams have already been eliminated, other 10 teams are in the race and would also look to line themselves up against weaker teams in knock out. Here is the analysis:

Group A
Stup Challengers have been eliminated from the qualification race as they will not be able to score enough points to reach 3rd place with just 1 game remaining
DSP have finished league stage with 4 points and cannot reach 3rd spot hence have also been eliminated
Royal Falcons – if they defeat Avengers they make it thru irrespective of bonus point by finishing No.1. If they lose to Avengers they still stand a strong chance to either qualify directly (if Edifice loses) or be one of the 2 best 3rd placed teams
Avengers – if they defeat Royal Falcons with or without a bonus point – they will qualify either in 1st or 2nd spot depending on outcome of Edifice v Stup game (both points and NRR). If they lose to Royal Falcons they will be on 3rd spot and have to rely on other group results to determine their chances of qualifying from 3rd spot
Edifice – if they defeat Stup with a bonus point they will qualify either from 1st or 2nd spot depending on outcome of the Royal Falcons v Avenges game. If they lose to Stup they will remain on 7 points and 3rd spot and have to wait for results of other group games for qualification from 3rd spot

Group B
SSA Strikers has qualified already. If  they defeat Collage deDevils in their last league game (irrespective of bonus point) they will top the group.
Collage de Devils have been eliminated from the qualification race.
United XI will qualify in 2nd place if they defeat TPA or if they lose to TPA but do not concede a bonus point. If they lose to TPA and concede a bonus point as well, then both United XI and TPA would be tied on 8 points each and their standing would be determined by the NRR difference.
Mott Macdonald have completed their league stage and are on 7 points. If TPA wins with a bonus point, Mott will be eliminated from the race. If TPA wins without a bonus point, the 3rd spot will be determined between TPA and Mott Macdonald basis the NRR. If TPA loses, Mott Macdonald will retain 3rd spot and have to wait for other group results to have a chance of qualification.
TPA – to qualify they have to beat United XI preferably with a bonus point which will guarantee them a 3rd spot (with a chance to qualify) or a 2nd spot if their NRR is better than United XI (and a direct entry into Super 8). If they do not score a bonus point, they will have to prevail over Mott Macdonald on NRR in order to retain 3rd spot.

Group C
Arch Mavericks have qualified and will retain No.1 spot if they beat Hellbenders or if they lose to Hellbenders without a bonus point being conceded. If a bonus point is conceded, Hellbenders will still need to significantly improve their run-rate in order to reach No.1 spot
ARK United are eliminated as they have no points from all 4 games
Hellbenders can finish 1st by beating Arch Mavericks with a bonus point and better NRR or 2nd spot by beating Arch Mavericks without a bonus point. They also get the 2nd spot if they lose to Arch Mavericks while Sankalpan also loses to Dynamites. If Hellbenders lose and Sankalpan wins (with or without a bonus point), they will be pushed to 3rd spot and have to qualify as one of 2 best 3rd placed teams.
Sankalpan – they qualify in 2nd spot if they beat Dynamites with or without a bonus point subject to Hellbenders losing. If Hellbender wins with a bonus point), Sankalpan can only reach 3rd spot by defeating Dynamites. However by virtue of being the best 3rd placed team (10 points or 11 points if a bonus scored) they will still qualify for Super 8. If Sankalpan loses to Dynamites without conceding a bonus point, they will stand 3rd and have to hope for favourable results in other group games. If they concede a bonus to Dynamites, they will have to beat Dynamites to 3rd spot by virtue of NRR
Dynamites – can only make it to contention for Super 8 stage by beating Sankalpan heavily (in order to improve NRR and score a bonus point). If they achieve that they have a chance of reaching 3rd spot by virtue of NRR. Any other result sees them eliminated

Hope this makes the coming weekend more interesting !!!!!! Lots of calculators required.
