Played at Navroz CC ground in Mumbai, United Cricket Academy after being put to bat first were all out for 134 runs in 32.5 overs. At one point United C.A were in deep trouble with scoreboard reading 3/7 and 4/14 at one stage, however Kaushik Shukla saved the day with a gritty 47 off 75 balls (6 fours). Coming at no.4, Kaushik was also supported well by all-rounder Aviral Dubey (24 runs) who chipped in with a handy cameo at no.6. The bowlers did a good job with Arbaz Querishi, Akif Shaikh and Salah Qazi chipping in with 2 wickets each.

XFF Cricket Academy in reply were all out for 98 runs as United Cricket Academy were able to successfully defend their low total. The bowler who played a crucial role for their team was spinner Aviral Dubey who destroyed the middle order with an impressive spell of 4/24 in 7 overs. Aditya Chaurasiya with 3/19 in 7 overs also bowled well as Navroz CC won the match by 36 runs.

Played at N.L Complex Cricket Ground in Dahisar, R Boyz after being put to bat first in the all important finals managed a total of 141/7 in 20 overs. Vikram Page (39), Hemant Bagude (33) & Asgar Khan (32) were the top scorers for R boyz Team. From the bowlers, Abhijit Sarmalkar with 2/17 in 4 overs alongwith a maiden was the pick of the lot. Amit Goyal also played a handy role taking 2/20 in 4 overs.

Chasing 142, DSC Mumbai Tigers chased down the score successfully in mere 17.2 overs thanks to a quick opening stand by all-rounder Abhijit Sarmalkar and Rajesh Vayal. Abhijit who was the best bowler also contributed with the bat scoring crucial 32 runs while Rajesh Vayal anchored the chase with a match winning 64* off 50 balls. Altaf Patel coming at no.5 gave the finishing touch with a brutal 26* off 9 balls plonking 3 fours and 2 sixes in 9 balls to cross the victory line.

DSC Mumbai Tigers with this commanding win has indeed proved that they are Hell of a Cricket Team which was surpassed all the odds to win the finals to become the champions.

Om Keshkamath struck a brilliant century smashing a 111-balls 113 runs as New Hind Sports Club handed Worli Sports Club a 197-run defeat in another LNCC match at the New Hind SC ground.

Batting first, New Hind amassed a mammoth score of 303 for 8 wickets, in 45 overs. Keshkamath’s solid knock was studded with 15 boundaries as he exhibited good technique and confidence. All-rounder Ayush Zimare also played well for his 76 runs and Aditya Anand with 43 runs played good supporting role. Ankit Surve (4 for 41 runs) was the most successful Worli SC bowler.

Chasing a challenging target Worli Sports Club were dismissed for a paltry 106 runs in 36.3 overs. Soham Nalawade (3 for 14 runs) did most of the damage.

Mumbai, March 3: MIG Cricket Club recorded a convincing 9-wicket win against Sind Sports in a first-round match of Lord NorthBrook CC orgainsed 1st LNCC Omni Global Trophy Invitation U-19 (45 overs) Cricket Tournament 2021, conducted under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association and played at the MIG CC ground, Bandra.

Electing to field first MIG bowlers were quite effective and dismissed Sind Sports Club for a low total of 128 in 36.4 overs. Ayush Singh 35 runs was the only Sind SC batsman who managed to score some runs. MIG bowlers Sairaj Moorthy (3 for 21) and Kalpesh Wadhel (3 for 24) were mainly responsible in destroying the rival innings. Later, without any trouble MIG reached their winning target scoring 132 for the loss of just one wicket in 23.5 overs. Arjun Dani unbeaten 57 runs and Kush Karia 40 runs ensured their team complete the win.

In another match, hosts Lord NorthBrook CC defeated Kurla Sports Club by a five-wicket margin. Batting first Kurla SC were bowled out for 229 in 44 overs. Aditya Pandey 92 runs and Roheen Shaikh 71 runs helped build the Kurla SC innings. Sohum Sabnis (4 for 38) was the pick of the Lord NorthBrook bowlers. In reply, Lord NorthBrook scored 230 for the loss of 5 wickets on 40.3 overs. Palash Pawar cracked an unbeaten 78 runs and received good support from Siddid Tiwari 35 runs to overhaul the rivals total and secure their win.

Brief scores: Sind Sports Club 128 all out, 36.4 overs (Ayush Singh 35; Sairaj Moorthy 3 for 21, Kalpesh Wadhel 3 for 24) lost to MIG Cricket Club 132 for 1 wicket, 23.5 overs (Arjun Dani 57, Kush Karia 40). 

Result:  MIG CC won by 9 wickets.

Kurla Sports Club 229 all out, 44 overs (Aditya Pandey 92, Roheen Shaikh 71; Sohum Sabnis 4 for 38) lost to Lord NorthBrook CC 230 for 5 wickets, 40.3 overs (Palash Pawar 78*, Siddid Tiwari 35). 

Result: Lord NorthBrook CC won by 5 wickets.

Victory Cricket Club 221 for 9 wickets, 45 overs (Dattaprasad Haldankar 32, Manal Kawle 45, Shashwat Jagtap 35, Nabijan Ansari 52*) beat Young Mohammedan CC 210 for 8 wickets, 45 overs (Umar Khan 35, Atif Khan 44, Nishant Kadam 66; Shreyansh Bogar 3 for 36). 

Result: Victory CC won by 11 runs.

Anonymous Knights after being put to bat first at Vengsarkar Cricket Ground, Ambapada scored 164/7 in 20 overs. Knight’s reliable opener Varun Madnani was again amongst the runs top scoring with 72 runs off 48 balls smashing 8 fours and 3 sixes. From the bowlers, experienced campaigners Sandeep Dahad (2/25 in 4 overs) and Rohan Bane (2/26 in 4 overs) were the pick of the lot for Old Monks.

Old Monks chasing 165 were off to a shaky start with scoreboard reading 4/34, 6/72 and 7 for 92 at different stages. However, that one guy who stood firm despite the loss of wickets from the other end was Vijay Singh at no.5. Vijay started off cautiously but changed gears in the death overs resulting in a match winning knock of 91* off mere 46 balls smashing 9 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of almost 200! It was Vijay Singh’s herculean efforts along with tailender Pritam Shinde’s (9* off 8) support, Old Monks crossed the victory line in 2nd last ball of the match winning the match by just 1 wicket.

Played at MIG Cricket Club in Mumbai, Scottish Stars after being put to bat first looked least deterred notching up a good total of 195/4 in 20 overs. Openers Preet Singh and Charles Sam laid the foundation with a 113 run stand in 11 overs. Charles Sam scored an impressive 56 off 30 balls but it was Preet Singh who stole the show with an electrifying knock of 101 runs in 67 balls. Preet smashed 12 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of almost 151.00 which impacted the opposition bigtime.

AVM Yoddhas in reply scored 178/7 in 20 overs with Javed Siddiqui (51 off 26 balls) and Sivanandan Konar (43* off 28 balls) putting their best efforts at the middle order. However, AVM Yoddhas fell shsort by quite a margin thanks to some good bowling by Scottish Stars bowlers. Sahil Punjabi and Justin Nadar with 2 wickets each were the pick of the lot from the bowlers.

Mumbai, March 2:  Musheer Khan’s impressive all-round performance, 104 runs and 4 wickets for 5 runs, was the highlight on the opening day. His brilliant efforts powered Payyade Sports Club to a solid 148 runs win against Dilip Vengsarkar XI in a first-round match of Lord NorthBrook CC orgainsed 1st LNCC Omni Global Trophy Invitation U-19 (45 overs) Cricket Tournament 2021, conducted under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association and played at the Karnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan on Tuesday.

After Vengsarkar XI sent Payyade in to bat first, opener Musheer batted confidently and dominated the rival bowling attack. His innings came off just 94 balls with 17 well-timed hits to the boundary and a solitary six. D. Aditya 47 runs and Jush Ganega 38 runs made useful contribution to the Payyade total of 247 all in 43.1 overs.

Later, Musheer shone with the ball and grabbed four wickets for just 5 runs which reduced Vengsarkar XI to 99 all out in 31.1 overs.

The finals of MCA Women’s One Day tournament was played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai . Mumbai Women’s Team B batting first scored 233/8 in 49 overs with half centuries registered from opener Jemimah Rodrigues (57), Riya Chaudhary (59) and Jahnvi Kate (60). In reply MCA Women’s Team D were all out for just 52 runs thanks to some brilliant bowling performance by the Team B bowlers.
