Mumbai’s very own Raunaq Sharma created history in the Washington Metropolitan Cricket Board (WMCB) T20 Championship, smashing the fastest-ever century in the history of DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia) cricket. The explosive right-hander reached his century in just 30 balls and ended with 106 off 34 deliveries, sending shockwaves across the league.
Representing United CC, Raunaq lit up the game with a brutal display of power hitting, hammering 5 fours and 12 towering sixes. His record-breaking innings powered United CC to a mammoth 239 in 20 overs after Washington CC won the toss and chose to bowl.
Raunaq wasn’t done yet — he also contributed with the ball, grabbing 2 crucial wickets, showcasing his all-round brilliance. He was well supported in the batting department by Tallal Zia, who scored a valuable 54 off 34 balls.
In the second innings, United CC’s bowlers maintained a tight grip, restricting Washington CC to 154, securing a 69-run win. Bowlers Khurram Sindhu, Atish Gawand, Parvesh Rajvanshi, and Tapinder Mangat all picked up 2 wickets each, sharing the load and ensuring a dominant finish.

Thane, May 2, 2025 – Eknath Shinde Cricket Club-II put up a brilliant show to beat Salgaonkar Sports Club by 8 wickets in the 3rd match of the Thane Premier League (TPL) 2025 at Dadoji Konddev Stadium.
Salgaonkar SC won the toss and decided to bat first. They managed to score only 101 runs in 19 overs. Most of their batsmen got out quickly, with Kunesh Patil scoring the highest – 16 runs. The bowlers from Eknath Shinde Cricket Club-II did a great job. Hemanth Buchade and Amit Pandey took 2 wickets each, making it hard for the Salgaonkar batters to score. Karsh Kothari also played a key role with the ball, giving away just 12 runs in 3 tight overs and picking up 1 crucial wicket.
In reply, Eknath Shinde Cricket Club-II chased the target in just 7.5 overs. The hero of the match was Chinmay Sutar, who smashed an unbeaten 75 runs off just 29 balls, including 10 fours and 4 sixes. The Thane Premier League (TPL) 2025 began with an exciting match between Defending Champions Ambernath Rising Cricket Club and Union Cricket Club. Ambernath Rising Cricket Club started their campaign with a strong win, defeating Union Cricket Club by 68 runs.
Union Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bowl first. But Ambernath Rising’s batters made the most of the chance. Anil Ronanki played a brilliant innings, scoring 67 runs in just 31 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes. He was well supported by Jitesh Raut, who smashed 50 runs in only 17 balls, hitting 2 fours and 6 sixes. Together, they helped Ambernath Rising Cricket Club score a big total of 234 runs in 20 overs.
Chasing 235, Union Cricket Club could not keep up with the run rate. The star with the ball for Ambernath was Prathamesh Mahale, who bowled an amazing spell of 4 overs, taking 4 wickets and giving away only 15 runs. Mayur Divekar also bowled well, picking up 2 wickets in 2 overs.

The second match of the Thane Premier League (TPL) 2025 saw a brilliant performance from FTL (XI) as they defeated Sportsman Cricket Club by 64 runs at Dadoji Konddev Stadium, Thane.
Batting first, FTL (XI) scored a huge total of 244 runs in 20 overs. The star of the match was Sairaj Patil, who played an outstanding knock of 129 runs in just 41 balls, hitting 4 fours and 12 sixes. He reached his century in just 34 balls, making it the fastest century in the history of the Thane Premier League (TPL). Yatin Madhavi also played a quick innings of 34 runs
In reply, Sportsman Cricket Club tried their best but could only reach 180 runs. Sanket Jadhav scored 42 runs, but the team fell short. Sairaj Patil also bowled well and took 2 wickets, making him the clear Man of the Match.

Thane, May 1, 2025: The cricketing fever in Thane has reached new heights as the 13th season of the Thane Premier League (TPL) was officially inaugurated today at the iconic Dadoji Konddev Stadium, Thane West. The tournament is being organised by Maharashtra Maza Seva Sanstha and Shri. Vikas Krishna Repale under the aegis of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
The grand inauguration was graced by Shri. Eknathji Shinde Hon. Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Shri. Nareshji Mhaske Member of Parliament, who declared the tournament open in the presence of players, officials, and other dignitaries. Their presence marked the strong support this tournament has from the cricketing fraternity.
Scheduled from May 1st to May 8th, TPL 2025 features some of the finest local cricketing talent in the state and promises to deliver an exciting week of competitive cricket.

In a thrilling inter-academy encounter, Ghatkopar Hurdles 11 emerged victorious against Kurla Hurdles Club by 41 runs in a low-scoring but action-packed game.
Batting first, Ghatkopar Hurdles 11 posted a competitive total of 106 runs in 19.4 overs. Their innings was anchored by Vihaan Shah, who top-scored with a crucial 34 off 33 balls, laced with 5 boundaries. Despite early setbacks and a flurry of quick wickets, a vital late cameo of 14 off 11 balls from Farhan helped push the total into triple digits.
Kurla Hurdles Club’s bowlers put up a spirited performance. Akib Shaikh led the bowling attack with 3 wickets for just 10 runs in his 4 overs. He was ably supported by Khushi, who also picked up 3 wickets, and Abdul, who took 2 crucial scalps, restricting the opposition and ensuring wickets fell at regular intervals.
In reply, Kurla Hurdles Club faltered under pressure and were bundled out for 65 runs in 13.3 overs. None of the batters could withstand the disciplined bowling attack of Ghatkopar Hurdles 11. Hurera was the top scorer with 14 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup collapsed around him.
The Ghatkopar bowling unit was exceptional, with Farhan and Samarth picking up 3 wickets each, while Anuj and Pant chipped in with 1 wicket apiece. They maintained tight lines and created relentless pressure, bowling Kurla out well short of the target.

Cross Maidan, Mumbai – The RSAT-20 Tournament final witnessed an exciting clash between Winz Cricket Club and MTNL Cricket Club at the iconic MTNL Ground, Cross Maidan. In a thrilling contest, Winz Cricket Club emerged victorious by 27 runs to lift the prestigious RSAT-20 title.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Winz Cricket Club posted a competitive total of 139 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Aayush Makhwana played a steady knock, anchoring the innings with 36 runs off 39 balls. He received good support from Aditya Balivada and Nihar Magre, who contributed 25 runs each to build a solid foundation for the team.
Chasing 140 for victory, MTNL Cricket Club struggled to build momentum as Winz bowlers kept striking at regular intervals. Akshat Jain was the standout performer with the ball, delivering a superb spell of 4 overs and claiming 3 key wickets. He was well supported by Aman Yadav, who bowled 3.3 overs and also picked up 3 wickets, dismantling MTNL’s middle and lower order.
MTNL was eventually bowled out for 112 runs, falling short by 27 runs. The disciplined bowling and teamwork displayed by Winz Cricket Club proved to be the difference in the final.
For his outstanding bowling performance, Akshat Jain was adjudged the Man of the Match, playing a pivotal role in his team’s title-winning effort.

Mumbai, April 22: About three quarters of an hour to Tuesday midnight, MCA Colts‘ Shashank Attarde hit the skipper and left-arm spinner Shams Mulani for a six of the last ball of the final to bring a remarkable two-wicket victory for his side to win the R.F.S.Talyarkhan Memorial Inviational T-20 tournament at Bombay Gymkhana’s floodlit ground.
Chasing a stiff target of 174, the Colts outfit showed its allround depth to achieve a win that seemed unlikely at rhe halfway mark, when they had lost half the side for 90 runs. In the circumstances, Colts, led initially by Sidharth Akre and Atharva Ankolekar kept hopes alive in their dug out with a recovery stand of 39 for the sixth wicket.
Thereafter the pendulam swung towards the Kennedy Seaface based side when seamer Sylvester D’Souza got rid off Akre and effected the run out of Saksham Jha. But Ankolekarand Attarde kept themselves busy with a bold and brave 32 run stand for the eighth wicket that brougt the Colts within striking distance of the target and the title. The colts needed 30 in the last three and they accomplished a splendid feat when the chips were down..
After the innings break the Gymkhana fast bowler Zaid Patankar struck in the
fourth ball of his first over – the fifth of the powerplay – by removing former India opener and the Colts captain Prithvi Shaw who made a 13-ball 15 with three boundary.(4s) shots. Patankar was relentless as he proceeded to get rid of Suved Parkar in his next over.
The Colts scored 51 at the conclusion of the powerplay, a shade better than their opponent,. but lost three wickets, including that of a game-changer in Shaw. The Colts chase began with a first-ball dismissal of Divyansh Saxena to D’Souza.
Earlier the Gymkhana side scored at a little over eight runs an over at the half-way mark (82/3) after a modest 49 for 2 in the first 6-over powerplay and sustained the scoring rate of eight plus an over to finish its innings at 173 for seven wickets.
Mulani, who took guard at the fall of the fourth wicket, held fort with a 22-ball 38 with one 4 and three 6s. He and Sagar Chhabria (26 off 15 balls) added 51 runs for the sixth wicket.
The Gymkhana side lost opener Kevin Almeida in The in the last ball of the third over and Ishan Mulchandani in the third ball of the sixth. Mulchandani was quick off the block making a 17-ball 31 with three hits to the fence and two over it.
IThe middle- order batters, Vikrant Auti.and Sachin Yadav made good contributions making 26 and 21 before Mulani and Chhabria forged the highest partnership of their innings. In all the Gymkhana side hit ten 4s and nine 6s.

In a high-octane MCA Women’s Knockout encounter between Sunrise Sports Club Association and Aarey Cricket Club, it was the young and talented players of Risinng Cricket Star Academy, under the expert mentorship of Coach Nandu Jadhav, who stole the show.
Sunrise Sports Club, after winning the toss, opted to bat first and managed to post a competitive total of 197 in their 40 overs. The batting unit looked strong but was kept in check by some brilliant bowling from Aarey Cricket Club.

Chhaya Gupta, whose fiery 4-over spell conceded just 24 runs and picked up a crucial wicket, showcasing excellent control and consistency.
Riya Venjale, a crafty left-arm spinner, weaved magic with her 8-over spell, scalping 3 wickets for just 37 runs, putting a halt to the Sunrise SCA’s scoring momentum.
Behind the stumps, Riddhi Gehlot put up a solid performance with smart wicketkeeping, complementing the bowlers effectively and helping restrict the opponents under 200.
Chasing 197, Aarey Cricket Club had a shaky start, losing early wickets. However, Riddhi Gehlot rose to the occasion, showing tremendous composure and maturity beyond her years. She played a match-winning knock of 59 runs in 58 balls, peppered with 7 elegant fours and a magnificent six, guiding her team to victory in 38.3 overs.
Swara Magar, another promising talent from Rising Star Academy, chipped in with a composed 10 runs, providing vital support in the batting innings.
