It was Shivaji bowlers versus ARSD bowlers. It was a neck to neck contest. Survival was on the line. In the end, it was Shivaji College who edged out ARSD by just 7 runs in an important knockout match of DU Inter College Tournament and progressed further in the event.
Played at NSIT Dwarka, it was never expected to be a high scorer. Shivaji College batted first and reached 148 runs at the end of 40 overs. Anmol Vyas top scored with a pain-staking 75 ball 34. Nitin Tyagi provided some late order fire works with 30 (20 balls). Opener Aditya Sharma also contributed with 26. For ARSD, Manmohan captured 3 wickets and Arun Negi scalped 2 wickets.
In reply, ARSD were never out of the game till the last wicket fell but still fell short by 7 runs. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and that’s where they lost the plot. Opener Manav Goel scored 26 runs. Abhishek Gusain scored 40 runs in the middle. Rajdeep Maji also contributed with 28 runs but none could stay till the end to finish the match. For Shivaji College, Manoj Tehlan and Deepesh Nailwal captured 3 wickets each and played the major role in securing their team a close victory.
