Deepak Valia’s all-round efforts of 51 & 3 wkts helps KSG defeat Super Kings in the KSG T20 Tournament

It was the crucial league match between KSG Strikers & Super Kings at the Payyade Cricket Ground in Kandivali. Super Kings who won the toss thought of making the most of the pitch conditions and put KSG to bat first & restrict them to a low score and put the under pressure.

Batting first KSG strikers were off to a fine start with both their openers Deepak Valia & Rakesh Mehta giving a good start to the team. While Rakesh made a 23ball 33, it was the left handed Deepak Valia who scored a thoughtful half-century for his side. Deepak Valia scored 51 off 48 balls & smashed 5 fours in it. Valia also did good running between the wickets and kept the scorecard ticking. No.3 batsman Rippal Mehta brought up another half century for his side coming off just 36 balls. Rippal’s knock of 56 came of just 36 balls at a strike rate of 150 & included 3 big sixes in it. Eventually, KSG strikers managed to reach a defendable total of 170/5 in 20 overs which is good enough on any day to give a tough

fight. Bhavin bhuta was the pick of the bowlers for Super Kings taking 2/16 in 2 overs for Super Kings.

Chasing 171 in 20 overs, Super Kings gave a tough fight but eventually fell short of 21runs, Only three batsman from their side were able to cross their scores in 2 digits with Rakesh Mehta being the leading scorer for them scoring a well fought 44 off 29balls*(8fours).  Manoj Mehta & Jitesh Parekh chipped in with 2 wickets each but it was their opening batsman Deepak Valia who finished this game with an all-round show. left arm bowler Deepak Valia was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/23 in 3 overs.
