Chikhale & Hipparakar steer RCC Avengers to a 9-run Win in Champions League 2023

In a nail-biting thriller, RCC Avengers and Phoenix Cricket Club clashed against each other during the Champions League 2023. RCC Avengers won the toss and elected to bat at the Roadpali Sports Complex in Panvel on January 15.

Batting first, RCC Avengers put together a daunting total of 170/8 in 20 overs, thanks to Kartik Chikhale’s 31-ball 41. Opening the batting, Chikhale smashed nine boundaries in his stroke-filled innings. For Phoenix Cricket Club, Akshay Jadhav and CKT Rohan Suwa were the most successful bowlers, with two scalps apiece.

In reply, Phoenix Cricket Club almost chased down the total but fell shy of just nine runs in the end. CKT Rohan Suwa led the run chase from the front with a 32-ball 48 and hammered three fours and a six. For RCC Avengers, Gorakhnath Hipparakar was the pick of the bowlers with 31/2 in four overs.

Cricket is a sport that Juili picked up right from her childhood days. Her journey from playing with the boys in the compound walls to practising under the able aegis of Jonty Rhodes has been a spectacular one.
She was a part of Mumbai Women’s U-19 and U-23 probables during her four-year stint at the MCA. As a middle order bat and a part time medium pace bowler, she also represented Mumbai University at All-India University Women’s Cricket for two years.

In the quest of further education, she discontinued with the sport. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Finance from IIT Bombay’s School of Management.
