Brilliant teamwork helps Vasai Center win the finals of the MCA U/19 50 Overs Tournament (Manohar Samant Trophy)

It was the all important finals between two competitive teams namely Vasai Center & Goregaon Center at the National CC, Cross maidan in Mumbai wherein Goregaon Center won the toss & elected to bat first.

Batting first, Goregaon center managed to score only 139/10 in 37 overs with Aman Farooqi at no.8 being the highest scorer with a 52ball 36 followed by 29 & 23 by Shawn Almeida & opener Adhiraj. No one scored more than satyalaksh jain who scored 42 also sidak singh , Suraj Singh , prashant pillai and Nakul mehta took 2 wickets each which were the highest. The bowlers did a terrific job of bowling tight and restricting Goregaon to a score of under 150.

Chasing 140 was a mere cakewalk as Vasai Center won the match by 5wkts in 37.3 overs. Himanshu Pandey & skipper Satylaksh jain came up with solid knocks of 36(65) & 42(78) respectively to steer their team towards the victory line. Nakul Mehta & Sidak Singh took 2wkts each but eventually Vasai outnumbered the opposition.

Vasai Center won the all important finals of the wherein skipper Satylaksh jain was declared ‘man of the match’ while slow left arm bowler Abhishek Yadav from Goregaon center with 12wkts was declared the ‘best bowler of the tournament & talented Dhruv brid with around 180runs from Vasai center was declared the ‘best batsman of the tournament’ Also credit must go to their Vasai Center coach Sudhir Rele who worked hard over his team to achieve these results.
