Bombay Gymkhana wins over Muslim C.C as talented opener Shawn Almeida scores a fiery 77 in the Salar Jung Tournament
The Bombay gymkhana ground witnessed a great perfomance from the Bombay Gymkhana boys as it was a wonderful display of performances both from the willow as well as with the ball. Bombay Gymkhana won the toss & elected to bat first as it was a good batting track to make a decent 1st innings target.
Batting first, their decision to bat first went in their favor as their right handed opening batsman Shawn Almeida made his presence felt in every corner of the ground as he smashed a brutal 77 off mere 43 balls coming at a strike rate of almost 180+. Shawn started counter-attacking the bowlers from the word ‘go’ & smashed as many as 12 boundaries in his 43ball knock which proved to be quite an entertaining & aggressive knock coming from his bat. Apart from him Bhaktiyar Irani was the 2nd highest scorer with a fluent 44* off just 36balls followed by a quick 26* by Rahul Sagar pushing their team total to 174/3 in 20 overs.
Chasing 175, the opposition team Muslim Cricket Club was bundled out for just 104 runs giving a victory by 70 runs to Bombay Gymkhana. Rahul sagar was quite spot on & bowled really well taking 3/15 in 4 overs which played a big part followed by 2 wkts each for Rajat, shubham & F.Khan.
Bombay Gymkhana won the match & Shawn’s perfomance was noteworthy to say the least. Cricketgraph congratulates the talented opener Shawn as well as the whole team for putting up a good show & also wishes them to continue playing good cricket.
