In a nail biting thriller that went through the ebbs and flows, Ambernath Rising Cricket Club finally emerged victorious as they beat FTL XI in the quarter final of Thane Premier League on Sunday at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium. The scores were tied and then the super over also resulted in a tie. Ultimately the boundary count came to Ambernath Rising Cricket Club’s rescue.
Batting first, FTL XI were bowled out for 151 in 17 overs. Opening batter Suryaansh Shedge starred with an impressive 46-ball 77, an innings that was studded with two fours and five sixes. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sportsmen Cricket Club showcased an ordinary performance as they were skittled out for 129 in 19.5 overs. Gaurav Suryavanshi (34; 35b, 4×1) and Aquib Shaikh (30; 13b, 4×1, 3×6) were the standout players with the bat. However, their other colleagues could not chip with as many runs as Thane Warriors Cricket Academy’s bowling was too hot to handle. Zaid Patankar was the pick of the bowlers with 3/22 in 3.5 overs. Asking Maharashtra Cricket Academy to bat first at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium, SRS Group reduced them to 114/9 in 20 overs. Batting at number eight, Manoj Yadav top-scored with an undefeated 32 from 28 balls. Yadav smashed a four and a six in his useful knock. On the other hand, it was all Siddharth Mhatre show with the ball for SRS Group. The left arm spinner broke the back of Maharashtra Cricket Academy’s batting with figures of 4/9 in four overs.
Chasing a modest 115 for victory, SRS Group completed the formalities in 16.4 overs. They won the match by six wickets and 20 balls to spare. The star of the show was undoubtedly the captain, Ajay Vidyalal Jaiswal, who delivered a scintillating performance, scoring an incredible 306 runs from just 148 balls, boasting a striking rate of 206.78. His innings of 306 comprised an impressive 44 boundaries and 10 colossal sixes, leaving the opposition reeling.
Thanks to his extraordinary display, Bhiwandi Taluka amassed a mammoth total of 440 runs in just 44.1 overs, in what was a 45-over match. The sheer dominance displayed by Jaiswal and his team was a sight to behold.
In response to this daunting target, Bombay Wanderers faltered and were bowled out for a mere 147 runs. Their highest run-scorer, Raj Nitin Waingankar, managed an unbeaten 47 runs off 69 balls, but it was not nearly enough to challenge the overwhelming performance of Bhiwandi Taluka.

Batting first, Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II raced to a daunting total of 258/4 in 20 overs. Nikhil’s undefeated knock of 118 from just 48 balls was the biggest highlight of the day. His innings was embellished with nine fours and as many sixes. Before Nikhil’s heroics, opening batter Sahil Gode hammered 91 runs from mere 36 balls, including a dozen fours and five sixes. Sahil and Nikhil’s blitzkrieg kept AT Sports’ bowlers at bay. Yogesh Sawant was the pick of the bowlers for AT Sports with two wickets.
Chasing a monumental 259, AT Sports were dwindled out for a miserly 53. Like the batters, the bowlers of Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II had an excellent outing as they bowled well in tandem. The 12th edition of the Thane Premier League started with a bang as Ambernath Rising CC handed a crushing 104-run defeat to Salgaonkar CC on Wednesday at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium. The tournament was inaugurated by Sulakshan Kulkarni, former Ranji cricketer.
Invited to bat first, Ambernath Rising CC piled up a daunting total of 186/9 in 20 overs. Riding on twin half-centuries from Shubham Punyarthi (63; 40b, 4×5, 6×3) and Prasad Pawar (54; 34b, 4×4, 6×1), Ambernath Rising CC set a formidable target for Salgaonkar CC. Apart from Punyarthi and Pawar, there were no other major contributions from Ambernath Rising CC as the bowlers of Salgaonkar CC kept coming at them. Kiran Salgaonkar and Dhruv Kothi were the most successful bowlers as they accounted for three wickets apiece.
In response, Salgaonkar CC had a horrid day with the bat as they were bundled out for a paltry 82 in 19.5 overs. Ronith Ramesh (13), Neil Savla (18), and Pranav Tillu (19) were the only three batters to score in double digits.
