Played at Nerul Gymkhana in Navi Mumbai, Bhosle Cricket Academy opting to bat first posted a total of 207/7 in 30 overs. From Bhosle CA, Praveer Singh at the middle order was the highest scorer with 52 runs off 42 balls. From the bowlers, Jasmit Singh and Vyom with 2 wickets each were the pick of the lot.

Chasing 208, Achievers Cricket Academy chased down the total successfully in 27 overs winning the match by 5 wickets. Opener Ved Tendulkar anchored the chase with a composed knock of 85* coming in mere 62 balls. Ved smashed 9 fours and 3 sixes at an aggressive scoring rate keeping the scoreboard ticking and taking the game away from the opposition. Ved was well supported by Kavish Gosalia who scored 44 off 44 balls.

MUMBAI: Openers Agastha Kashikar (73 n.o.) and Aarav Thakar (43) put on 161 runs in MCC ‘A’ s 76 runs win over Kaushtab Pawar Cricket Academy win in the 6-Team MCC Talent Search under-12 cricket league (Season-1), played at Air India Ground at Kalina (Santacruz) here today.

Batting first, the MCC’s senior string rattled up 197 for two off the allotted 25 overs with Agastha remaining unbeaten with 73. In reply, the Pawar CA strugged and ended with 121 for five. In another tie, Bhosale CA kept their unbeaten record intact as they beat Brain-$ Sports by 69 runs for their fourth win . Opting to bat first, they made 184 for the loss of just two wickets. The highlight of their win was the third wicket century partnership of Aarya Kale (54 not out) and Ram Shandilya (50). Chasing 198 for win, Brain-4 Sports could muster only 115 for four in the allotted overs.

Played at BSCA Sports Academy Cricket Ground in Mumbai, Roshan Cricket Club after being put to bat first batted extremely well putting on a huge total of 244/3 in 20 overs. Opener and Captain Ayush Shinde top scored in the match batting from start to end en-route his enthralling innings of 152*. Ayush scored 152* off just 75 balls which included 27 boundaries at a strike rate of 202.67.  The match also witnessed 68 extras which pushed the team total to a massive 244 runs in 20 overs.

Veer Cricket Club in reply were all out for 29 runs courtesy a disciplined bowling spell by Roshan CC bowlers as they won the match by 215 runs.  Aradhya Jadhav with 3/3 in 2 overs was the pick of the lot while Ayush Shinde for his unbeaten hundred was declared man of the match. With more than 2000 runs, Ayush averages a solid 42.19 in 81 matches so far and he looks all set to chart a promising journey ahead.

Played at Yashwant Nagar Cricket Ground in Virar, Golden Star opting to bat first posted a moderate total of 131/8 in 20 overs. Smith at no.6 was the highest scorer with 33 runs while rest of the players found it difficult to convert their starts. From the bowlers, Vansh Gurav with 2/19 in 4 overs and Varad Vaze wit 2/28 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot.

 

On the other hand, Ours CC chased down the total with ease in 15.5 overs winning the match by 9 wickets. Opener Ayush Vartak scored a superlative half century scoring 68* off 46 balls laced with 5 fours and 4 sixes while Captain Bhargav Patil at no.3 remained unbeaten on 57* off 44 balls as both the players a match winning 123 run stand for the 2nd wicket.

Played at Cross Maidan in Mumbai, Sanjeevani Cricket Academy opting to bat first in this 40 over encounter managed to post a total of 169/10 in 39.2 overs. Despite losing the openers early, keeper batsman Aditya Pabalkar and Manan Bhatt tried to stabilize at the middle order. Manan Bhatt scored an impressive 78 off 91 balls smashing 5 fours and 2 sixes despite lacking support from the other end. Manan pushed his team towards a defendable total scoring almost half of the team total. Soham Nalawde from Koli CC was the pick of the lot returning with bowling figures of 3/29 in 6 overs including a maiden.

It was a close shave win for Koli CC where in Sanjeevani bowlers gave their best to win the match. Aryan Dalal bowled an impressive spell of 4 wkts for 23 runs in 8 overs almost making it difficult for Koli CC to cross the victory line. However, Atharva Pisal at no.7 played a crucial cameo of 31* facing 67 deliveries to ensure his team crossed the victory lap.

Result: Koli CC won the match by 1 wicket and Soham Nalawde declared Man of the Match

Little did New Amrit Cricket Club knew after opting to bat first after a delayed start due to wet pitch at Navroz CC, Azad Maidan, that they would face a terrific spell of spin bowling by a youngster called Abhishek who would reduce New Amrit CC to a total of 71 runs all out in 25.5 overs. Even after a solid opening start with openers putting on 51 runs, the rest 9 wickets came in a session of mere 20 runs as spinner Abhishek Yadav wrecked havoc over the opposition team. Abhishek returned with this season’s best bowling figures in Madhav Mantri Tournament taking a stunning 7 wkt haul conceding mere 10 runs in 5.5 overs. Apart from him, left arm spinner Suraj Singh bagged 3 wickets.

Shree Lad Cricket Club in reply chased down the score in 18 overs winning the match by 4 wickets.

Played at Greenview Cricket Ground in Hyderabad, Telangana, ICA Master Blaster XI opting to bat first scored a healthy total of 352/3 in 40 overs. Openers Nihaal Reddy (46 runs) & Aryan Reddy gave a flying start to the innings stitching 144 runs partnership for the 1st wicket. Just fresh from a hundred from his previous outing, Aryan on the other hand top scored for his team smashing an aggressive 71 runs off 57 balls which included 8 boundaries. Apart from Aryan, Jyotika Chowdary and Prem scored half centuries to push their team towards a respectable total.

Ash Cricket Team in reply were cleaned up for 70 runs in 18.1 overs with all-rounder Jyothika Chowdary bagging 4/8 in 4 overs including a maiden. The rest of the bowler also bowled well as ICA Master Blaster XI won the match by 282 runs.

The final match of U10 Masters Cup was played between GM Cricket Academy vs Santosh Sports Cricket Academy. Santosh Sports Cricket Academy opting to bat first scored a total of 74/8 in 20 overs which GM Cricket Academy chased down successfully in 16.1 overs. GM Cricket Academy won the match by 9 wickets while youngster Tilak Prajapati was declard ‘man of the match’ for his match winning knock of 43 runs in 46 balls laced with 5 boundaries.

Into the all important finals, PAB Cricket Club, Bhiwandi opting to bat first managed to post only 83/8 in 20 overs. Sanjeevani Cricket Academy bowlers did a good job of restricting the opposition to a low total. In reply, it was a comfortable win for Sanjeevani Cricket Academy as they won the match by 8 wickets. Harsvardhan Baumukh was declared ‘man of the match” for his all round performance where in he scored a quick 20 off 14 balls alongwith a wicket in his spell of 3 overs.

Mumbai, December 26: Formidable Parsee Gymkhana riding on the wave of success extended their winning streak as they won their third successive tournament recording an authoritative 298 runs victory against defending champions Payyade Sports Club in the three-day final of the Automotive Manufacturing-74th Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2021-2022, organised under the auspices of MCA, at the Police Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive on Sunday.

It was a memorable day for Parsee Gymkhana, who is the first club from the city to win three back-to-back tournaments, across different formats, in the history of Mumbai cricket. The red hot Parsee Gymkhana had earlier won the Talim Shield T20 tournament and Madhav Mantri Centenary One-Day 45 overs League and now added the Police Shield to their trophy collection.

Parsee Gymkhana had earlier won this prestigious tournament way back in 1956. When they last emerged champions the Parsee Gymkhana team included Indian stalwarts late Polly Umrigar, Farook Engineer and 92-year-old Hoshang Dadachanji.

The Marine Drive club dominated play from the start amassing a massive score of 524 for 9 wickets in their (90 overs) first innings on the opening day. Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav had hogged the limelight with a marathon innings of 249 runs, while Aditya Tare 73 runs, Sachin Yadav 63 runs and Vikrant Auti 52 runs contributed to swell the total.

Parsee Gymkhana continued their dominance on the second day as their bowlers bundled out Payyade Sports Club for a paltry 171 runs in 49 overs in the first innings. Medium pacers Siddharth Raut (4 for 47) and Shivam Malhotra (2 for 17) and off-spinner Sagar Udeshi (3 for 53) were responsible for dismissing Payyade batsmen cheaply. Payyade’s lower order bastmen Atif Attarwala (38 runs), Pradeep Sahu (31 runs) and Akash Parkar (26 runs) were the only three batsmen who got some decent runs.

In the second (40 overs) innings, Parsee Gymkhana was dismissed for 142 runs in 37.4 overs. Prolific batsman Sachin Yadav top-scored with 53 runs, while left-arm medium-pacers Roystan Dias (5 for 51), and Aatif Attarwala (4 for 39) picked up the wickets.

Payyade who in their second essay needed 495 runs to win from 40 overs managed to score 197 for the loss of six wickets and lost by 298 runs. Bhupen Lalwani 46 runs, Siddhesh Lad 46 runs, and Pradeep Sahu unbeaten 40 runs were the top run-scorers. Sagar Udeshi (3 for 65) got the wickets.

The victorious Parsee Gymkhana side received the glittering Police Shield trophy and a cash award of RS one lakh from Chief Guest Ravi Shastri, former Indian  cricketer and coach and Hemant Nagrale IPS, Commissioner of Police. Payyade Sports Club were presented the runners-up trophy and a cash award of Rs 50,000.

Suryakumar Yadav, who won the Best batsman of the final award handed over his cash prize to the Mumbai Police Gymkhanana groundsmen for their tremendous work in maintain the entire ground in top condition.

Sachin Yadav of Parsee Gymkhana bagged the Best batsman of the tournament and the Emerging Player of the tournament.
