In the match vs Physionish Smashers vs Kusum Warriors, Deven Dhruva who came at no.4 after his team Kusum Warriors opting to bat first went on to score an unbeaten 109* off mere 56 balls at Kaveerni Sports Arena Cricket Ground. Dhruva smashed 11 fours and 1 sixes with a strike rate of almost 195.00 while he also got good support from Smit Shah (40 runs off 32 balls) with whom he stitched a 67 run partnership at the middle order pushing the team total to 199/5 in 20 overs. Physionish Smashes in reply managed to score 167/9 in 20 overs as Kusum Warriors won the match by 33 runs. Viral Shah with 3/31 was the pick of the lot while Deven also chipped in with an economical spell of 1/20 in 4 overs.
In the match which followed on 23rd Jan vs MTM Riders, defending a total of 170 runs on Kaveerni ground, Kusum Warriors restricted MTM Riders to 140 all out in 19 overs courtesy a match winning bowling performance by all rounder Deven Dhruva. Deven returned with envious bowling figures of 4/15 in 4 overs including a maiden handing over a 30 run win to Kusum Warriors.
Just a year back, Deven Dhruva was in the news for smashing 6 sixes in an over in the Patan Premier League Season 4 and the all-rounder continues to impress this time scoring a century as well as taking fifer in the 5th Edition of PPL T20 Tournament.

Also, I would like to thank the committee of the PPL for organising such a fantastic tournament in these times and giving us an opportunity to express ourselves.
It was the all important finals where in Payyade Panthers locked horns with Payyade Hawks for one final encounter to decide who would lift the PPL Trophy. Payyade Panthers batting first posted a total of 139/9 in 20 overs with Kesar Upadhyay top scoring the innings with 39 runs. The rest of the players chipped in but failed to convert their starts. From the bowlers, all rounder Hetanshu Kamdar with 2/11 and Jalveer Thalesa with 2/33 were the pick of the lot.
Chasing 140, it was a close shave encounter where Payyade Hawks gave a tough fight but eventually fell short in the penultimate over by 2 runs. Hetanshu Kamdar who earlier bagged 2 wickets was the top scorer with the bat too smashing an almost match winning half century scoring 52* off 36 balls. Hetanshu and Darshan gave it all but hard luck their team failed to cross the victory line by a small margin. From the bowlers, Thanesh Sirvi with 2/20 was the pick of the lot.

Played at Air India Sports Club in Santa Cruz, Mumbai, it was the all important finals between Bhosale Cricket Academy vs the hosts Mumbai Cricket Club. Bhosale Cricket Academy opting to bat first scored 128/9 in 25 overs. Arya Karle at no.3 was the top scorer with 63 runs off 58 balls. From the bowlers, Agastya Kashikar with 2/21 in 5 overs was the pick of the lot.
Chasing 129, Prithvi Bhalerao guided the innings with a brilliant half century. Prithvi anchored the chase with an unbeaten 63* off 81 balls (6 fours) while also stitching an 86 run stand with his opening partner Satyanarayan who scored 36 runs. MCC chased down the total in 23.5 overs winnings the finals of the tournament by 8 wickets. Opener Prithvi for his composed innings was declard ‘man of the match’

Played at Khandeshwar Ground in Navi Mumbai, Young Prodigy Ayush Shinde scored an unbeaten century in the RCC Tournament. Fuchar Cricket Club batting first scored a total of 267 runs in 40 overs while Roshan Cricket Club chased down the total with ease courtesy a brilliant ton by their opener Ayush Shinde.
Ayush scored 108* off 58 balls taking on the bowlers with ease as he smashed 20 boundaries at a strike rate of 190.00 + Ayush was well supported by Praydankur and Prithvi who scored crucial half centuries at the middle order. Praydankur scored 50 off 44 balls while Prithvi scored 50 off 30 balls to help their team script a memorable win by 4 wickets.
The league match of the Champions Premier League 2021 between Data Friends and Jhonty Cricket Club was held on 16th January 2022 on the Jagannath Krida Sankul, Badlapur. Jhonty Cricket Club winning the toss opted to bat 1st. The openers failed to give a good start to their team. As the 1st wicket fell on the score of 1, the whole batting of Jhonty Cricket Club collapsed on a score of 61 runs losing all their wickets in 18.2 overs.
It was the Slow left-arm orthodox bowler, Shashank Jadhav’s bowling that helped Data Friends restrict Jhonty Cricket Club on a low score. He bowled 3.2 overs, gave away 11 runs, and took 4 wickets. Also, the Right-arm Off Break bowler, Yogesh Shinde bowled impressively. Bowling 3 overs, he gave no runs and took 2 wickets.
The Data Friends team got a target of 62 runs to be chased within 20 overs. The target score was achieved within just 3.3 overs. Opener’s Vicky Patil (37 off 13) and Omkar Rahate ( 17 off 8) gave a quickfire start to their team and as a result, the Data Friends won the match by 10 wickets. Shashank Jadhav was awarded Player of the Match for his amazing bowling performance.
Played at First Green Cricket Ground in Lonavala, Real Cricket Academy U14 Team opting to bat first posted a total of 199/7 in 25 overs. Middle order batsman Laksh Shinde top scored with 58 runs while the top order players also contributed with starts. From the bowler, it was Don Bosco’s left arm orthodox spinner Arnav Gupta spinning a web with a brilliant fifer. Arnav returned with impressive bowling figures of 5/18 in 5 overs being the pick of the lot in the match.
U14 Don Bosco team however failed to chase down the total as they managed 150/7 in 25 overs with Sai Kalan taking 3/19 in 4 overs. Real C.A won the match by 50 runs and Sai Kalan was adjudged man of the match while Arnav Gupta’s fifer stood as the highlight performance of the match.

Byju’s Jharkhand T20 was played in July-August last year among six teams, namely, Bokaro Blasters, Dhanbad Dynamos, Dumka Daredevils, Jamshedpur Jugglers, Ranchi Raiders and Singhbhum Strikers. Bokaro Blasters won the tournament by beating Dhanbad Dynamos by four wickets.
There were many good performances that caught the eye. Ranchi Raiders’ captain Supriyo Chakraborty was one such player who grabbed the attention. Supriyo is a right handed middle order batter and a right arm medium pace bowler. He was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 14 wickets from nine matches, at an average of 16.92 and economy of 7.72. He delivered the best bowling figures of 2-19 in one of the matches in the competition. Apart from his outstanding bowling performance, he made some useful contributions with the bat in the middle order. He muscled 170 runs, including the best of 56 not out. He was the third highest run getter for his team. Supriyo averaged a healthy 42.50 and had a strike rate of 122.30 in the tournament.

“I am very happy with the way I played in the tournament. I could lead by example as I made useful contributions with both bat and ball. I have already played for Jharkhand U-23 for two years in 2016-17 and 2017-18. Later I was picked in the senior state side and made my T20 debut for Jharkhand in 2018-19 during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy,” Supriyo told to CricketGraph.

After that season, due to COVID-19 imposed restrictions there were no matches. Supriyo had no idea where his cricket was going. Last year when the cricketing action resumed, Supriyo was hopeful of being a part of Jharkhand team. But for reasons not known, he was not in the squad of 20 for the domestic competition. In another tournament, which was the Vijay Hazare tournament, he was happy to be back in the thick of things. He was named in the squad but just one night before the departure of the team, his name from the list of team players was replaced. Apart from Supriyo, three other players were replaced for reasons not known.
The finals between Ideal CC vs Panvel CC took place at Badlapur where in Ideal CC opting to bat first scored 177/6 in 20 overs. Middle order batsman Kunal top scored with 70 runs off 34 balls helping Ideal CC win by 40 runs. Panvel CC chasing 178 were all out for 137 runs with Anshul Bhosale being the pick of the lot with 2/21 in 4 overs. Kunal from Ideal CC received Man of the Match Award in the finals.

Apart from Kunal, Ideal Cricket Club’s Sahil Jadhav also stood out as a consistent performer scoring 299 runs in 4 matches alongwith 5 wickets. Sahil also scored 2 important hundreds for his team in the tournament. Opening the innings vs S.A Cricket Academy, Sahil scored a match winning 101 off mere 46 balls. In the other league match vs Vignesh Sports Club, Sahil scored a brilliant 142 off mere 60 balls where he smashed 20 fours and 6 sixes to hand over his team a big win.
Bombay Vikings won the toss and elected to field , for the 2nd time in a row. Titans played the game with a player short and lost their opener early but managed to come back strong with a Exemplary batting performance by DEEPAK KHASTURI scoring 95 runs of just 62 balls taking the team total to 175.
Bombay Vikings made a flying start to their chase with ANKUR AGARWAL SCORING 20 RUNS in the 2nd over. Titans kept coming back by picking up wickets at regular intervals but VINAY BOTHRA made sure that Bombay vikings keep fighting till the end , Falling short of 2 runs for his century.
With 8 runs required of the last over , Vinay starts off by hitting a six of the 1st ball. Tausif keeping his cool and bowling 5 DOT balls in a row only but Bombay Vikings sneak a single of the last ball and TIE THE GAME !!!
Sourabh Giri along with Virendra Yadav played a fantastic innings and helped his team United Cricket win the match against Matunga Youth and also earned him the Player of the Match award in the Bhaskar Trophy 2021 held at Oval Ground, Elphinston ground.
Winning the toss first, captain Sourabh Giri elected to bat first. The United Cricket team, lost early wickets. As a result half of the team went back to the pavilion at a score of 71, in 13 overs. Sourabh Giri built a partnership of 110 runs along with his teammate Virendra Yadav. Sourabh Giri and Virendra Yadav scored 58 off 49 and 56 off 52 respectively. Both of their innings included 8 fours. With this, the United Cricket team managed to score 227 runs in 40 overs. Matunga Youth’s bowling gave away 48 extras which included 39 wides, 1 no ball, 2 leg byes and 6 byes.

The Matunga Youth team chasing a target of 228 runs, collapsed on a score of just 130 runs within 32.5 overs. Md Yaseen, Aurojyoti B, Adeeb Alam managed to get 2-2 wickets each. Whereas Sourabh Giri got 1 wicket “The opponent team was a strong one. But as the guys fielded very well and we managed to get two runouts and save a lot of runs and this is one of the main reasons why we were able to restrict them on a low total.” said the skipper.
When asked about his innings, Captain Sourabh Giri said, “The openers gave their wickets early and therefore I went in to bat having one thing on my mind and that is that I had to be on the crease until the end. I kept taking singles and doubles and whenever I got an easy ball, I converted it into boundaries. I tried to play on merit and the results are clear.”
Captain Sourabh Giri was also chosen as the Player of the Match for his knock.
