Taking 10 wickets in an innings is nothing less than a dream come true for any cricketer. On January 28, a young fast bowler from Gurgaon achieved his dream when he wrecked havoc with the ball scalping all 10 wickets in an innings. Yashashvi Kataria was the wrecker-in-chief for 3G Ashok Vihar in the match that he played against YCC Nawada Junior at Nawada Cricket Ground in Gurgaon during a 40-over a side match.
Winning the toss and electing to field first, YCC Nawada Junior restricted 3G Ashok Vihar to 177-9 in 40 overs. Opening batter Priyanshu Yadav top scored with 29 runs off 67 balls, including one boundary. YCC Nawada Junior did not have a great day with the ball as they conceded as many as 70 extras. Yash Naharwal was the most successful bowler as he picked up 2-20 in his six overs, including one maiden. Naharwal bowled 29 dot balls in his spell.
In reply, 3G Ashok Vihar bundled out YCC Nawada Junior for a paltry 57 in just 12.2 overs, thanks to Yashashvi Kataria’s heroics with the ball. The 14-year old right arm speedster picked up all 10 wickets in a jiffy. He struck with 10-30 in 6.2 overs, including 29 dot balls. He opened the bowling for 3G Ashok Vihar and made good use of the new ball.
Yashashvi told CricketGraph, “I was very happy to pick up all 10 wickets in the match. My teammates were very supportive right through. I am glad that my hard work paid off. My parents are happy too with my performance. The conditions were neutral and it was important for me to pitch in the right areas. I stuck to my basics and yielded good results.”
Played at Morwa, Bhayander West, Rising Star Team batting first posted a healthy total of 257/7 in 30 overs. Even though most of the players found it difficult to get going apart from their opener Shiddarth who scored 39 runs, it was no.4 batsman Prateek Sable who grabbed everyone’s attention as he went on to score an unbeaten 100*off 79 balls. 11yr old Prateek displayed aggressive cricket smashing 10 boundaries while eventually getting retired hurt after reaching his milestone.
Defending a total of 257, Jeet Cricket Academy in reply were all out f00or 164 runs courtesy a 9 year old Aahil making it difficult for batters senior to him. Little Aahil took 4/18 in 6.4 overs including 2 maidens which proved to be a very crucial bowling spell for Rising Star Sports Academy to win the match by 93 runs.

Played at Union Cricket Academy ground in Kalyan, Boys Cricket Club opting to bat first scored a total of 112/10 in 21.5 overs with lower order players Fenil (29 runs) and Sarthak (27 runs) at the lower order being the top scorers. All-Rounder Mann Bhanushali was the pick of the lot returning with bowling figures of 4/13 in 6.5 overs. Apart from Mann, Ruved Rane also bagged 3 wickets.
Real Cricket Academy in reply chased down the scoreRea in just 13.5 overs winning the match by 5 wickets. Real C.A were also in deep trouble at one stage with scoreboard reading 8/3 however Vedant Toprani at the middle order brought his team back into the chase with an unbeaten 51 off just 22 balls smashing 8 fours and 2 sixes.
Boys CC went on to win the match by 5 wickets while Mann Bhanushali was declared man of the match. Mann also recently gave a all round performance in MCC U14 Talent Search Tournament where he took 3wkts and scored 26 runs vs Sanjeevani Cricket Academy.

Played at Pushpanjali Cricket Ground in Borivali, SBSC boys opting to bat first posted a total of 243/4 in 15 overs. Opener Ajit Pehelvan (95 runs) and Ansari Sadique stitched 133 runs stand for the 2nd wicket which took the game away from the opposition. Ansari who came at no.3 went on to score a stunning 122* off just 42 balls smashing 12 fours and 11 sixes at a strike rate of almost 300.00!
Jeet Cricket Academy in reply managed to score129/9 in 10 overs with wicket keeper Aditya top scoring with 54 runs off 22 balls. From the bowlers Manav Kankaria and Dhanush bagged 3 wickets each as SBCC boys won the match by 114 runs. Ansari Sadique for his 122* was declared man of the match.
SBCC boys opting to bat first at Cross Maidan were in deep trouble at one stage losing both the openers without them opening their accounts. However, Shailesh C and Yash Pathania stitched 164 runs for the 3rd wicket where in Yash Pathania took the game away from the opposition smashing a brilliant knock of 115 runs in mere 51 deliveries. Yash played at an amazing strike rate of 225.49 smashing 7 fours and 11 sixes en-route his hundred.
The opposition team Siraj Cricket Academy were all out for 113 runs with Yash Pathania shining with the ball too. Yash returned with bowling figures of 4/23 in 3 overs helping his team win the match by 62 runs. Yash for his all round show was declared ‘man of the match’

Team MAMU after being put to bat first at Goa Naka Cricket Ground in Thane posted a total of 151/5 in 20 overs. Rohan Devadiga at the middle order was the highest scorer with 48 runs while Dr Guddu Shaikh with 2/21 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot from the bowlers.
Chasing 152, Mumbra Royals who lost both their openers early came back into the game in no time courtesy a swashbuckling batting performance from Dr Tausif Khan. Tausif smashed a brilliant 113* off mere 45 deliveries smashing 6 fours and 12 sixes. The doctor’s knock definitely included some clinical perfect shots as he single handedly pushed his team towards a commanding win by 8 wickets and almost 7 overs to spare.

In one of the league matches of the 3rd Challenger Cup that was played at BGN Cricket Academy RK Puram in New Delhi, Vision Sports Academy locked horns with BGN Cricket Academy in a 35-over per side encounter. The match was played on November 23, 2021. BGN Cricket Academy won the toss and elected to field first.
Put in to bat, Vision Sports Academy put together 242 runs in 32.1 overs before the team was bowled out by BGN Cricket Academy. Middle order bat Sankit top scored with 87 runs off just 48 balls, including 16 boundaries and two sixes. With the ball for BGN Cricket Academy, Saksham Aswal and Sandeep Kumar were the leading wicket-takers with three wickets apiece.
In reply, BGN Cricket Academy chased down the score in just 29.3 overs, winning the match by three wickets. Captain and top order bat Shaurya Pandit led the run chase scoring a delectable 86 off 76 balls, smashing a dozen boundaries and a couple of sixes. The southpaw came in to bat in the very first over of the innings and was there till the 27th over to ensure that his team was in a safe position. Early in the match, he showed his class with the ball as he scalped 2-44 in his six overs. For Vision Sports Academy, Vivek Pal was the pick of the bowlers as he struck with 4-28 in his five overs.
The 12-year old Shaurya Pandit told CricketGraph, “This was the first match of the tournament and taking those two points was very essential. As a captain, I motivated my team and asked them to play fearless cricket and not take any kind of pressure. It was important for me to lead from the front. The wicket on which we played was wet. It was difficult to bat. But once I went past 30 I was more confident. On the other hand, the conditions for bowling were favourable. I enjoyed bowling on that surface.”
At the end of the tournament, Pandit won the best batsman, best bowler and player of the tournament award.
Played at New Era, Azad Maidan, Panvel Cricket Academy opting to bat first posted a total of 197/9 in 35.4 overs. Opener Rushab P (30 runs) and no.3 batsman Krish Bahira stitched 122 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket which took their team to a good position. Krish was the highest scorer from Panvel C.A smashing an impressive knock of 82 runs in 97 balls laced with 9 boundaries. Paras illawe from Rising Players bowled a brilliant spell returning with bowling figures of 5/37 in 5 overs.
Defending a total of 198, Panvel C.A reduced Rising Players to 96 runs all out courtesy a disciplined bowling performance from the bowlers. Harshal Mhatre was the pick of the bowlers with 3/15 while Aryan and Saish took 2 wkts each. Panvel Cricket Academy won the match by 101 runs while Krish Bahira was declared man of the match for his match winning knock of 82 runs.

During the Lions Cricket Championship, a tournament held in Badlapur, Hrishikesh Jagtap of MS Dhoni Cricket Club 11 muscled a delectable half century on January 23 against Lions Cricket Academy XI. The right handed batter scored 51 runs off 54 balls, including seven boundaries. He was the top run getter for his team. During his innings, he played some good looking shots and ran well between the wickets. Jagtap led the run chase from the front as he ensured that his team was safely home. His unbeaten innings of 51 steered his team to a three-wicket victory, chasing 154 runs in 20 overs.
Apart from his impactful contribution with the bat, Jagtap made some useful contributions with the ball early in the innings, as he went on to pick up one wicket. The 19-year old’s all-round performance was the stand out feature of the match.
U16 Roshan Cricket Club opting to bat first made a total of 240/6 in 35 overs. Roshan CC lost a few quick wickets but opener Shlok (41 runs) and Prithvi Bhalerao at no.4 brought the momentum back with a small partnership. Prithvi Bhalerao coming at no.4 went on to score an impressive 100* off 86 balls smashing 13 boundaries at a strike rate of 116.28.
Pratik Cricket Academy in reply chased down the score in 33.3 overs winning the match by 2 wickets. Krish Bhaira at the lower middle order played a crucial knock of 57* which helped his team cross the victory line. Omkar Rashikar who scored 21 runs and took 2 wickets was declared man of the match while Prithvi’s 108* turned out to be the highlight performance of the match.
