Openers Vikrant Pathare and Rakesh Parekh top scored for Rroaring Lions scoring 50 and 36 runs respectively. Kensington CC in reply chased down the score with superlative ease winning the match in commanding fashion by 9 wkts. Opener Ram Badrinath and Tenzing Niyogi stitched an unbeaten 156* run stand for the 2nd wicket making things easier for Kensington Team. Ram scored 57* off 52 balls playing the anchors role while Tenzing Niyogi scored 70* off 47 balls smashing 7 fours and 2 sixes to decimitate the opposition bowling attack.

On May 21 and 22, D.Y. Patil Group A locked horns against Indian Oil Sports Club during the MCA Corporate Trophy in Mumbai. Indian Oil Sports Club won the toss and elected to field first.
Invited to bat, D.Y. Patil Group A posted a mammoth total of 8-419 in 75 overs. The opening pair of Bhupen Lalwani and Tanmay Mishra stitched a 275 run partnership to set the foundation. This partnership of 275 runs is the highest partnership for D.Y. Patil in its history of corporate cricket. While Lalwani hammered 120 runs off 147 balls, Mishra smashed 166 runs off 175 balls. In the process, the duo hit 34 boundaries and half a dozen sixes. On the other hand, Indian Oil Sports Club’s Amir Gani was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 4-110.
In reply, Indian Oil Sports Club fought hard as they scored 348 in 65.5 overs. However they were bowled out falling short of 71 runs. Aakarshit Gomel (55), Arjun Dani (74), Arman Jaffer (54) and Aditya Tare (80) hit brilliant half-centuries, but failed to see their side home. Aniket Redkar from D.Y. Patil Group A picked up 5-101 to derail the run chase.
Tanmay Mishra, Bhupen Lalwani and Aniket Redkar were the top performers in the match for D.Y. Patil Group A against Indian Oil Sports Club in the MCA Corporate Trophy.

In reply, Jolly Gymkhana chased down the target with ease with Prem Naik scoring the highest of 48 from 59 balls which consisted of four boundaries and a six. Aditya Parab remained unbeaten on 38 from 57 deliveries and as jolly gymkhana won by 6 wickets.
Played at SCA-B Cricket Ground in Rajkot, Surendranagar U16 District Team opting to bat first were all out for 155 runs in 39.4 overs with Chintan Gothi at no.3 being the top scorer with 37 runs. Skipper and Ace Bowler of Morbi U16 Team Digvijay Parmar rose to the occasion returning with excellent bowling figures of 4/13 in 8 overs including 2 maidens. Apart from him, all-rounder Nikhit Chatariya and Vishwaraj Jadeja (jr.) with 2 wkts each also contributed well with the ball.
Morbi U16 District Team in reply chased down the score successfully crossing the victory line in 36th over. Left-Handed Batting All-Rounder Nikhil Chatariya opened the innings and top scored with 38 runs off 37 balls smashing 4 fours and 2 sixes while the rest of the batters contributed with cameos. Morbi U16 Team won the match by 2wkts while it was certainly Nikhil and skipper Digvijay who stood out in the match with their individual performances.

Played at MCA SRT Ground in Kandivali, Matunga Gymkhana after being put to bat first posted a total of 219/10 in 43.5 overs. Prem Naik at no.5 was the highest scorer with 41 runs while a few of their batters chipped in with 30’s. From the bowlers, left arm spinner, Nishit Balla who has been consistent in this tournament continued to lend an impact this time with a brilliant haul of 5 wkts. Nishit returned with bowling figures of 5/32 in 9 overs being the pick of the lot for National CC.
National CC in reply chased down the score with ease crossing the victory line in 41st over and winning the semi finals by 5 wkts. Opener Riday Khandke who also bagged one wicket with the ball gave a good start with his knock of 44 runs off 73 balls (4 fours) while Atif Khan at no.3 top scored with 56 runs off 65 balls (4 fours, 2 sixes) to anchor National CC’S chase. Atif also bagged 2wkts with the ball making it a complete all round performance. Harsh Aghav at no.5 remained unbeaten on 38* off 32 balls playing the finishers role for National CC.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPLC) took on D.Y. Patil Group on May 17 and 18 during the MCA Corporate Trophy. BPCL won the toss and elected to bat first.
Riding on Sahil Jadhav’s magnificent 106, BPCL put together 315 runs in 74.1 overs before getting all out. Jadhav played some good looking shots and ran well between the wickets. Parikshit Valsangkar joined forces with Jadhav as he muscled 61 runs. Eknath Kerkar (48) and Pranav Kela (39) too made useful contributions with the bat for BPCL. On the other hand, D.Y. Patil’s Karsh Kothari and Ajay Singh starred with the ball as they scalped 5-82 and 3-92 respectively.
In reply, D.Y. Patil were bowled out for a paltry 144 in 43 overs as the batters failed to put up a fight. Praful Devkate was the most successful bowler for BPCL as he claimed 7-73 to derail the run chase. Devkate, who was consistent with his lines and lengths, was the leader of the bowling attack. As a result, BPCL beat D.Y. Patil by a massive margin of 171 runs in the MCA Corporate Trophy.
Played at the picturesque MIG Cricket Ground in Mumbai, Indian Oil Sports Club batting first scored a total of 398/9 in 75 overs. Opening the innings, youngster Arjun Dani scored an matured innings scoring 98 off 148 balls. Arjun hit 10 fours and a six while stitched a big partnership with veteran Aditya Tare who smashed an aggressive 125 off 111 balls which included 18 fours and a six. From the bowlers, Pankaj Pardeshi with 3/118 was the pick of the lot while Yogesh Shinde with 2/51 in 10 overs was the most economical of the lot. Amol Tanpure also bagged 2 wkts in his spell of 13 overs.
Gr.Mumbai Police Sports Club A gave a tough fight batting out all the 75 overs vs a formidable line up of Indian Oil scoring 328/9 in 75 overs. Mumbai Police’s most reliable and consistent top order batsman Sunil Patil once again came in good with the bat top scoring in the match with 135 runs off 146 balls smashing 16 fours and 7 sixes. Swapnil Kulaye (52 runs) and Mansingh Chavan (44 runs) at the middle order also chipped in with contributions. All-Rounder Yogesh Shinde who had bagged 2wkts with the ball also showed skills with the bat scoring an unbeaten 42* off 50 balls.
Result: Indian Oil Sports Club won the match by 67 runs
Payyade Sports Club locked horns against Parkophene Cricketers in the quarter final of Purushottam Shield on May 13 and 14. Parkophene Cricketers won the toss and elected to bat.
Batting first, Parkophene Cricketers were bowled out for 133 in 38.4 overs. Omkar Ghule starred with the bat as he scored a delectable 52. Shubham Girkar also made a useful contribution as he chipped in with 37 runs. On the other hand, Payyade Sports Club’s Atif Attarwala wreaked havoc with the ball as he claimed 5-24.
In reply, Payyade Sports Club fought hard but failed to chase down the total, falling short of 18 runs. Sagar Mishra led the run chase with a magnificent 81 off 100 balls, including 11 boundaries and two sixes. However Mishra kept losing partners at regular intervals which did not help the team’s cause. Royston Dias and Darshan Mangukiya stymied Payyade’s run chase as they bagged 5-29 and 4-35 respectively.
Payyade Sports Club were bowled out for 115 in 29.5 overs to lose the quarter final of Purushottam Shield against Parkophene Cricketers.
