Prateek Yadav’s Double Century powers Omtex ICWC to A win over Zimbabwe U19
On November 27 and 28, Omtex ICWC U19 took on Zimbabwe U19 at Omtex ICWC, Saphale, in Mumbai. Though the match ended in a draw, the hosts won on first innings lead.
Omtex ICWC U19’s Prateek Yadav hit the headlines as he bludgeoned an unbeaten 200 off 249 against Zimbabwe U19. Opening the batting, the right-handed batter and wicket-keeper hammered 26 boundaries and cleared the rope half a dozen times. He took the opposition bowlers to cleaners as he hit them all around the park. At the end of the innings, he powered his team to a mammoth score of 312 in 86.3 overs. On the other hand, for Zimbabwe U19, captain Schonken Matthew was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 95/3 in 28 overs.
In reply, the visitors were bowled out for 206 in 56.3 overs. Hlabangana Nathaniel and Changa Villan scored 49 runs each, with omkar Mogal scalping 51/4 in 15 overs. At the end of the first innings, Zimbabwe U19 trailed by 106 runs. Batting again, Zimbabwe U19 scored 102 in 35 overs for the loss of two wickets. Nathaniel, who opened the batting, top-scored with 32 off 61. He smashed five boundaries in his innings. On the other hand, Mogal was the only wicket-taker for the hosts, claiming 19/2 in 11 overs.
