5 wicket haul by Deepak Valia ensures triumph for KSG superiors.
The one fear when T20 came into existence was that it will be a run feast for the batsman. Batsman would be going hammer and tongs and the life for bowlers would be still more difficult. As time went by and especially in the recent times this shorter version has proved that all is not just made for batsman. Good bowlers are good irrespective of which ever format they play. This has been proved this time by Deepak Valia of KSG Superiors. It was the first quarter final match of Kapol Premier League played on 22nd March 2015, between KSG Superior and Soni Samaj.
Soni samaj won the toss and decided to bowl first but Gaurang parikh of KSG superior had other ideas. He smashed 36 runs (2 boundaries and 3 sixes) along with Maulik Mehta 36 runs(seven boundaries) and Umang Shah top scored with 40 runs (four boundaries and one six). Vicky of soni was rewarded with 2 wickets. KSG Superior innings ended with respectable 174 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
The reply from Soni Samaj was almost similar from opener Vicky Soni 31 runs ( 4 fours and 1 six) and Ketan soni’s valiant effort towards the end of 36 runs (one four and four sixes) proved in vain. Arrived Deepak Valia on the scene and had 5 wickets in his kitty for 35 runs in his 4 overs. Soni samaj fell short by 31 runs. A 5 wicket haul in any format of the game is a great effort and especially in T20 format, its a tribute. He was well supported by Umang with 2 wickets and one each for Harshit and Parth.
Deepak won the day for KSG Superior and was named the Man of the Match. Others can take a cue from him. Well done Deepak!
