42nd All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Tournament: Sultan Ansari’s 72* guides BD Mahajan XI to victory over Mata Ved Solanki

With the help of fine batting by Sultan Anasari (72 not out 8×4 3×6 b45) and Arjun Gupta (50 5×4 1×6 b72) and Saurabh Passi (49 6×4 3×6 b39) B.D.Mahajan Xi Meerut move into PQF round of the 42nd all India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament 2015 as they defeated Mata Ved Solanki Cricket Club Najafgarh by 5 wickets in the first round match.
Mata Ved Solanki Cricket Club Najafgarh skipper Dinesh Mor won the toss and decided to bat first. Mata Ved Solanki after losing first 5 wickets at 76 runs in 16.3 overs scored a good total of 227 runs by losing 7 wickets with the help of good batting by Dinesh Mor ( 94 not out , 12×4 b99) , Anuj Rawat ( 63 , 6×4 2×6 b53) , Nikhil Gauram 28 ( 2×2 2×6 b23) and Chetan Rishi 23 ( 4×4 b35). Skipper Dinesh More and Anuj Rawat put on 101 runs for the 6th wicket in 20.2 overs and helped their side to reach 227 runs in 40 overs. Right arm leg spinner Varun Anand bowled well and took 3 wickets for 36 runs. Naved Hussain took 2 wickets for 43 runs. Rishit Saini took 1 wicket.
In reply BD Mahajan XI Meerut scored the needed 228 runs in 33.4 overs by losing 5 wickets only with the help of fine batting by Sultan Anasari 72 not out ( 6×4 3×6 b45) , Arjun Gupta 50 ( 5×4 1×6 b72) , Saurabh Passi 49 ( 6×4 3×6 b39) and Punjab’s Jiwan Jyot Singh 36 ( 7×4 b26). Jiwan Jyot and Amarjeet were run out. Left arm spinner Deepak Sharma took 1 wicket and off spinner Mayank Rawat took 2 wickets for 46 runs.
BD Mahajan XI will meet Sonnet c.c. in PQF on 28/5/2015.
