With 14 other coacher under his check, Patwal will oversee the activities as he works with Joshua Philip Thomas “Josh” Knappett, an ex-England First Class Cricketer. The Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy’s franchise is run by the university itself.
With an ample of coaching experience in the international stage, Coach Umesh Patwal is looking forward to new challenges.
In an eventful turn, Dadar Parsee Colony defeated the Sporting Union Club in the Sontosh Kumar Ghosh Trophy Organized by Sporting Union Club and Kalyandas Memorial Sports Foundation AJINKYA NAIK, SURAJ SAMAT, SANJAY NAIK, KALYANDAS MEMORIAL SPORTS FOUNDATION. DPC were in a commanding position after the end of their first innings. With 249 on board, DPC were comfortably ahead but an incredible partnership between Ayush Makhwana and Shravan Mhatre brought the Sporting Union Club back in the game. Regardless of their efforts, Anshul Moraje’s incredible spell post lunch negated any margin. He took 6 crucial and quick wickets giving away only 16 runs. With a domino affect, the Sporting Union collapsed and DPC advanced to the next round.

Batting first, the Vengsarkar CA found themselves 2 down early in the innings but instead of anchoring, the duo of Karandikar and Aghav had other plans. A counterattack was launched by the pair of them propelling the total to a whopping 456 in mere 62.5 overs. To rub salts in the wounds, Payyade were charged with 40 penalty runs for slow over rate.

The oldest tournament in Mumbai, Purshottam Shield will begin from the the first weekend of November 2022. Well known for its traditional format of 70-overs per side lasting just a day and a half, this year it seems the Mumbai Cricket Association have taken a different stance. The 106th Purshottam shield will be a one day white ball contest between 28 clubs i.e A & B division clubs of Mumbai.
Previously, there were limited opportunities as the red ball tournament was a knock out competition however this season, there will be 7 groups with 4 teams each. This way every team is guaranteed at least 3 games. With the Vijay Hazare Trophy on the horizon, the Purshottam Shield is expected to act as an audition for gritty Mumbai cricketers who wish to represent the state.
