Playing at Cross Maidan, Vasant Vihar hammered 336 in just 43 overs losing 8 wickets in the process. Apart from Balpreet’s ton, Vedant Chavan contributed 94. On the bowling side, Om Parkar claimed 5 for 61 but to little affect as Our Lady was bowled out for an embarrassing 66 in the 19th over resulting in Vasant Vihar winning by 270 runs.

Victory Cricket Club took on Mumbai Police in match number 23 (Group D) of the Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament. Mumbai Police won the toss and elected to field.
Invited to bat first, Victory Cricket Club were bowled out for 200 in 51.2 overs. Jay Bista starred with the bat smashing a delightful 91. Giving Bista company was Shashwat Jagtap, who chipped in with a valuable 31. On the other hand, for Mumbai Police, Yogesh Patil wreaked havoc with the ball, claiming 46/7.
In reply, Mumbai Police fought hard as they almost chased down the total. They fell shy of five runs getting all out for 195 in 53.3 overs. Yash Chavan led the run chase from the front with an unbeaten 80, while Sunil Patil contributed with 43. Opting to bat first, Sponsors XI had an off day as their innings was done and dusted for a paltry 111 in 34.4 overs. Sponsors XI’s Dhruv Thakkar top-scored with 38. On the other hand, PJ Hindu Gymkhana’s Vinayak Bhoir scalped 27/5.
In reply, PJ Hindu Gymkhana took just 20.1 overs to achieve the target at the loss of four wickets. Harsh Salunkhe (40) and Sachin Wagh (31) guided their team to an easy win. On the other hand, Sponsors XI’s Pushkaraj Chavan was the most successful bowler. He accounted for 24/3.

In the ongoing Cosmopolitan Shield, Kandivali CA took on the Garware Club in a low scoring thriller as the prior edged out closely. After winning the toss, Kandivali CA elected to bat on a challenging wicket. In 35 overs, the team could manage a total of only 124 runs as they were bowled out. Pratik Vaidya scored valuable 54 as he ran out of support on the other end. A high scoring game between Dilip Vengsarkar XI and Lalchand Rajput XI saw the the latter prevail comfortably. Vengsarkar XI elected to bowl first. Despite losing the toss, Lalchand Rajput XI made the best of the opportunity and scored a mammoth total of 672 in 113 overs. Varun Lavande high scored with a supreme 140 up the order. His innings paved the way for other batsmen. Coming in the middle order was another centurion, Siddhant Singh, contributing an unbeaten 130. Left Spinner Shreyas Gurav surprised with the bat by scoring 94 as Sheesh Shetty chipped in a handy 72. Their total was aided with 74 runs by the umpire as Vengsarkar XI were penalized for a slow over rate.
In reply, Vengsarkar XI passed the 500 mark but were still short by more than 150 runs as they were bowled out in the 115th over. Sagar Chabbria hammered a fighting 113 as Akshat Jain and Sourabh Singh contributed 88 and 85 respectively. Aditya Srivastav and Dhanit Raut also passed the 75 run mark but in vain as the Rajput XI was too much for them. Sheesh and Aryan Badhe claimed 3 wickets each to seal the game for their team by a first innings lead.

The Rising Star Sports Foundation Cricketgraph Academy in Bhayandar provides excellent facilities for their players. With almost 5 outdoor nets at their disposal, the academy gives every player an opportunity to train. The academy also has the leverage to train indoors during the monsoon season with an indoor nets facility. The indoor structure also allows players to practice after dark as it has flood lights. Apart from batting and bowling, the skill of fielding is also taken of, thanks to the availability of the outdoor ground.
Apart from Coach Nandu Jadhav, there will be 2 subordinates aiding him. With more than 50 students across all groups in the academy, ample games are organized for the players to showcase their skills.
