Spartan won the toss and elected to field first in bowling friendly conditions. Highflyers got off to a breezy start scoring 32 in just 3rd over but lost 3 wickets at the same score. They went from 32 for no loss in 2.3 overs to 36 for 4 by the end of the 4th over. Tarun Kapoor scored well composed 22 runs off 22 deliveries. It was bowlers day as Chetan Rai, Saurabh Korgaonkar and Ashish Jain picked up 2,3 and 2 wickets respectively. But the day belonged to Nirbhay Kahar. Coming to bat at number 9, he batted fearlessly scoring handy 30 runs in just 18 balls hitting 2 maximums and 3 boundaries. Highflyers posted a modest 125 all out without finishing their quota of 20 overs.
Spartan’s chase anchored around 1 down batsman Arnab Bhujbal, who scored a brilliant half century in bowling friendly conditions. Arnab scored 56 while Nishant Chaudhary scored 25 runs. These were the only 2 batsmen from Spartan to score double digit apart from 23 extras. Nirbhay and Chandan Jha, each took 4 wickets. Spartans too failed to bat their full quota of 20 overs and fell tantalizingly short by 1 run of Highflyers total. Credit should go to Nirbhay and Chandan along with some excellent fielding.
Nirbhay was declared Man of the Match!!!

Batting first on a flat deck, Giants came out all guns blazing against Superior in the KSG 40 over tournament.
Giants top 4 scored heavily against Superior. Openers Vishal Sanghavi and Monish Parekh scored 69 and 37 respectively. Karan Mehta scored 89 off 63 balls. Giants posted 394 for 6 in 40 overs taking the game out of reach of Superior.
Superior needed a blinder from all of their top order batsmen. But it was Karan Mehta again with the ball this time who broke Superior’s back. Karan Vora, Karan Mehta, Sagar and Pratik Modi all took 2 wickets each. Chintan Kanakia scored 26. Superior folded for 139 in the 26th over thus handing a huge 255 run victory to Giants.

It was a low scorer T20 thriller played between Mycroyance and R.C.C at Elphinstone Cricket Club pitch at Oval, Churchgate in the inaugural edition of the Kurukshetra Cup Season 1.
It ended up with a tie with both teams earning a point and solace of not losing a closely contested game with many twists and turns.
This was the first match of the first edition of the Kurukshetra Cup. This tournament is organized by Beyond Infinity, a company formed by 2 brothers, Piyush Rai (COO) and Devashish Rai (CEO), who are passionate about cricket.
Mycroyance chose to bat first. Their innings got off to a shaky start and they kept losing wickets regularly. It was fine knock by their last recognized batsman Rishikesh Kore batting left hand made big difference. Rishikesh played a sensible knock with the lower order batsman to take his team to a score for their bowlers to bowl at. Rishikesh scored 43 off 41 balls and helped Mycroyance reach 120 runs exhausting full quota of wickets and balls. The Shaikhs 6 wickets with Imran taking 3, Bilal 2 and Shadab 1 for RCC.
120 was a tricky chase on a tricky surface. Similar to the innings of Mycroyance, RCC too kept loosing wickets regularly but it was the steady partnership between Bilal Shaikh and Farooq Qureshi that took the game away from Mycroyance. But the run out of Bilal Shaikh in the last over by Aniket Karwarkar got the game in balance again. Aniket accounted for one more run out in the last over. Needing 3 to win on the last ball, Farooq could manage to get a brace and thus tie the score. Rishikesh Kore of Mycroyance was named MoM.
A match to remember!!!
Here are some moments in pictures from the match:
