The 2nd edition of the U-25 T20 Rathod Cup is set to kick off on the 11th of April 2023 at Police Gymkhana. Organised by John Bright Cricket Club, the tournament is to provide opportunities to u-25 age group players. Mumbai Cricket President Mr. Amol Kale has been invited as the Chief Guest. The T20 Rathod Cup is approved by the MCA as well.
In the 2022 season, 16 teams competed in the knockout tournament with Dadar Union winning the championship and New Hind as the runner ups. In the previous year, the organizers 14 spike shoes and 14 runner up shoes to both the finalist and for every game there is an award for Man of the Match. In the 2023 edition, there are 20 teams participating and all games will be telecasted live on Pitchvision.
The John Bright Association has done an excellent task by organising the tournament on their own without external sponsors and help.
3rd league match played on 2nd April in between Raging Bulls vs Risers in Ultra Edge Season 3 Super 7 Co-Powered by Cric Willowforu which was played at – Khel Sports, Sector-66.
Risers won the toss and elected to bat first. Risers started innings poorly as they lost 2 quick wickets for 41 runs on board. They keep losing wickets in between Mohit scored 20runs 8 balls(4×2,6×2) Ashish Sharma scored 28runs 16 balls (4×2,6×1), Dinesh scored 24(4×3,6×1). Risers managed to score 159/7 in 20 overs. Raging bulls bowling figures Vivek Kumar 4-25-2wickets, Aman, Lucky, Karan took 1-1 each wicket.
Chasing Raging bulls got off to a flier. Ashish Malik played gritty knock of 59 not out in 51 balls (4×6,6×1), with him Kunal Raheja played good knock of 57 not out in 30 balls (4×5,6×4) also Nikhil Bhojwani played a quick knock of 25 runs in 22 balls (4×3,6×1). They chased down the target of 160 in 17.4 overs. In the bowling department from Risers Varun, Rahul & Saurabh Rathore took 1-1 wicket each.

The 2nd league match of Ultra Edge Season 3 Super 7 Co-Powered by Cric Willowforu played here in between XI-Gers & UK-11. Played at – Starshine, Kadarpur.
UK-11 won the toss and elected to bowl first. XI-Gers started innings poorly as they lost 3 quick wickets for 17 runs on board. They keep losing wickets in between. Samarth Verma scored 31(4×1,6×2) Amit Kakkar scored 23(4×5), Prateek Taneja scored 22(4×1,6×1). XI-Gers managed to130/9 in 20 overs. UK-11 bowlers bowled splendidly to restrict XI-Gers. Vishal 4-21-2wkts, Tarun Chaudhary 4-26-2wkts, Bharat Sehrawat 4-31-2wkts. Chasing UK-11 also faltered in there innings as well, losing 2 top wickets early then Bhupi chipped in with quick 27 runs – 18 balls with (4×3,6×1), Mohit Tyagi supported him with 33 runs – 30 balls (4×4). In the end Dilsukh Sharma made 24 runs – 26 balls (6×2). They managed to chase down the target in 17.5 overs. In the bowling department from XI-Gers Akshit bowled superb leg breaks to pick up 3 crucial wickets. Sumit picked up 2 wickets as well.

Mumbai, April 7: Mansi Patil brilliant efforts with both bat and ball inspired Fort Youngsters CC to an easy 48-run victory against Rajawadi CC in a semi-final match of the 1st MCA Women’s Cricket League played at the MCA ground, BKC on Friday morning.
The number batter Mansai batted confidently to score an unbeaten 37-ball 64 runs which was studded with 11 hits to the boundary ropes, Besides Mansi’s innings, her teammates, openers Riya Chaudhari 48 runs (23-balls, 8×4) and Janhavi Kate 38 (30-balls, 7×4) made solid contributions which ensured Fort Youngsters reach a healthy total fo 171 for 4 wickets from the 20 overs. Tanvi Parab (2 for 20) was Rajawadi’s best bowler.
Later, opener and consisitent run scorer Vrushali Bhagat single-handedly tried to keep Rajawadi CC in the fight. However, all the other batters failed to stay long in the middle and provide any support as their innings closed at 123 for 9 wickets from the stipulated 20 overs. Vrushali was the top-scorer with 74 runs from 46-balls and with 11 bondaries. The next best batter was Kshama Patekar whioc made 14 runs. Fort Youngsters’ off-spinners Jagravi Pawar 2 for 16 and Himaja Patil 2 for 23, left-arm spinner Batul Pereira 2 for 17 and leg-spinner Mansi Patil 2 for 25 picked up the wickets to clinch the win.

Later, in the second semi-final, all-rounder Sarika Koli’s superb performances helped Victory CC storm to a commanding 8-wicket victory against Springfield CC to set up a clash with Fort Youngsters in the final.
Batting first Sportsfield were restricted to 134 for 8 wickets from 20 overs. Opener Shameen Abdullah 58 runs (52-balls, 6×4,1×6) and former Indian cricketer and number 3 bat Punam Raut 56 runs (47-balls, 7×4,1×6) lifted the Sportsfield total. Victory CC left-arm spinner Nidhi Buley 4 wickets for 16 runs and off-spinner Sarika Koli 2 wickets for 32 runs were mainly responsible to contain the rival batters.
In response, Victory CC easily chased the target making 138 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets in 15 overs. Sarika Koli was the leading run-getter with 55 runs (34-balls, 9×4), while Mahek Pokar contributed an unbeaten 50 runs (37-balls, 7×4) and Saima Thakor chipped in with 20 runs to help her team cruisie to victory.

Mumbai, April 6: Victory Cricket Club charged past Payyade Sports Club by registering a convincing 7-wicket victory in a quarter-final match of the 1st MCA Women’s Cricket League played at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana ground-I, Kandivali on Wednesday evening.
After Payyade SC chose to bat first, Victory CC bowlers Saima Thakor 3 wickets for 14 runs and Nidhi Buley 2 wickets for 16 runs were solely responsible for dismissing the opposition batswomen for a paltry 86 runs in 20 overs. Saloni Kushte was the lone Payyade batter who managed to score 32 runs to prop the innings.
In response, Victory CC comfortably chased down the winning target reaching 87 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets in 14 overs. Mitali Mhatre who top-scored with 39 runs steered the team to a satisfying win and a place in the semi-final.
In another quarter-final encounter, Sportsfield Cricket Club defeated Bharat Cricket Club by 37-runs at the STG ground-II.
Sportsfield CC deciding to bat after winning the toss amassed a challenging total of 158 for 3 wickets from their 20 overs. Former Indian cricketer Punam Raut was the leading run-scorer with an unbeaten 76 runs while Manjiri Gawade 44 runs and Shaheen Razak 22 runs further boosted the Sportsfield innings.
Later, Bharat CC were restricted to 121 runs for 7 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Tanisha Gaikwad kept Bharat CC in the fight with a half-century knock of 51 runs, while Samiksha Bangal contributed an unbeaten 23 runs and veteran former Indian wicket-keeper Sulakshana Naik chipped in with a quick 17 runs. Sportsfield bowlers Reshma Nayak 2 wickets for 17 runs and Lakisha Labdhe 2 wickets for 8 runs ensured their team sealed the win and to also advance to the semi-finals.

Mumbai, April 5: The impressive all-round performances from opening batswoman Riya Chaudhari who scored an unbeaten 56 runs and off-spinner Janhavi Kate 3 wickets for just 3 runs were the highlights of Fort Youngsters comfortable 47-run win against Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation in a quarter-final match of the 1st MCA Women’s Cricket League, played at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana ground-I, Kandivali on Wednesday.
Electing to bat first, Fort Youngsters were restricted to a low total of 128 for 7 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Opener Riya remained unconquered and her steady 52-ball knock contained five boundaries. Mansi Patil made a useful contribution of 21 runs which lifted the Youngsters innings. Vengsarkar Foundation bowlers Siddhi Pawar 2 for 14 and Prakashika Naik 2 for 20 restricted the opponents from amassing a huge score.
Later, Fort Youngsters’ bowlers, Janhavi who received excellent support from the other off-spinner Batul Pereira, who also claimed 3 wickets for 9 runs, destroyed the Vengsarkar Foundation batting as they managed to score just 81 runs for 9 wickets from their stipulated 20 overs. Sanika Chalke 18 runs was the top-scorer for the losing team.
In another quarter-final match, Vrushali Bhagat continued with her solid batting form and struck an unbeaten 73 runs in leading Rajawadi CC to a convincing 6-wicket win against Palghar Dahanu Taluka SA to advance to the last four.
Sent in to bat, Palghar Dahanu Taluka SA were dismissed 98 runs in 19.2 overs. Palghar’s batter Saniya Raut and Ashwini Nishad were the only two who managed to score 28 and 21 runs respectively. Rajawadi bowlers Niviya Ambre 3 for 15, Sunetra Paranjape 3 for 16 and Komal Parab 2 for 22) troubled the rival batswomen. Later, Rajawadi easily chased the target reaching 99 for 4 wickets in 13.4 overs.

Mumbai, April 4: Maintaining her consistent batting form Vrushali Bhagat smashed a second century, a 53-ball 104 runs, which powered Rajawadi Cricket Club to an emphatic 94-run win against J. Bhatia Sports Club in a Pre-quarter-final match of the 1st MCA Women’s Cricket League, played at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground, on Monday evening.
Vrushali had earlier scored a 37-ball 103 runs against K.R.P. CC in a second round Group-F match and had struck 52 and 59 runs in the other two league matches.
Rajawadi captain and opener Vrushali, deciding to bat first, played aggressively from the start and dominated the rival bowlers. Vrushali scored runs at a quick clip and her innings was laced with 12 well-timed hits to the boundary ropes and four powerfully struck sixes which saw Rajawadi reach 204 runs for 5 wickets from 20 overs. Kshama Patekar who has also batted consistently made 31 runs, while Bhatia bowlers Prachi Pandit 2 for 37 runs and Vedika Joshi 2 for 47 runs were responsible for picking the wickets.
Later, Rajawadi’s off-spinner Niviya Ambre 2 for 4 runs and left-arm spinner Chandani Kanojia 2 for 11 runs tormented the Bhatia SC batsmen and restricted them to 110 runs for 8 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Radhika Thakkar 31 and Soumya Singh 23 runs were the only two Bhatia SC batters who managed to get some runs on the board.
In another match, former Indian wicket-keeper Sulakshana Naik cracked an unbeaten 89 runs which was the highlight of Bharat CC’s convincing 70-run win against Dahisar CC at the Sachin Tendulkar ground-II, Kandivali.
Sulakshana Naik’s solid knock lifted Bharat CC to 144 runs for 6 wickets from 20 overs. Dahisar bowlers Supriya Pawar 2 for 26 and Priyanka Golipkar 2 for 28 were the pick of the bowlers. In response, Dahisar SC were dismissed for 74 runs in 19.3 overs Sneha Raorane was the top-scorer with 28 runs while Mansi Kedar claimed 3 for 10 runs and secured Bharat CC’s victory.

Sportsfield CC 192 for 2, 20 overs (Shaheen Razak 75*, Punam Raut 50, Shweta Kalpathi 45*) beat Sporting Union Club 121 for 6, 20 overs (Juili Bhekare 41*). Result: Sportsfield CC won by 71 runs.
Rajawadi Cricket Club had a torrid time against Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana Club in the Summer Vacation Shield Tournament as they were bowled out for an embarrassing total of just 66. After electing to bat first, Rajawadi batted for only 22.1 overs as no batter passed the 30 run mark. Needless to say, the Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana’s bowlers left no stone unturned. Ankit Mithwala’s 3/27 shook Rajawadi but it was Tavish Shetty’s spell of 5/19 which derailed the batting.
The batsmen made light work of the target as they managed to chase it down in 15 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

The opening match was played between Scorchers and S&P Global. Tosswas won by Scorchers and elected to bat first.
Batting first they posted a total of 155/6 in 16 overs(Rain Curtailed).
Siddharth Thakur (52 runs in 32 balls, 4 × 9 ) scored a brilliant half century and was well supported by Yajat Singh Deou (26 Runs in 18 ball, 4 × 4 ). In bowling department Jatin Bharara bowled top spell and took 3 wickets and Himanshu Sati took 2 wickets.
In reply, S&P Global started of really well and were taking the game away from Scorchers. But the amazing bowling spell from Scorchers proved that they are still fighting for the win. Team Scorchers won the match by 15 Runs. S&P Global scored 140/7 in 16 overs. Top performance from Himanshu Sati ( 76 Runs in 44 balls 4 × 8 , 6 × 3 ) played fiery innings with support of Hinank ( 32 Runs in 27 balls 4 × 1 , 6 × 2). In bowling Arun and Kamesh took 2-2 wickets each.

Fort Youngsters faced Sainath Sports Club in the Inaugural MCA Women’s League 2022-23. Batting first, Fort Youngsters scored a competitive total of 152 on board losing 5 wickets in the process. Leading the charge, Janhvi Kate smashed a 45-ball 55 as she opened the innings. She hit 8 fours and 1 six in a match-winning knock. Amisha Mhatre bowled an impressive spell of 2/5 in just 4 overs including a maiden to her name.
Sainath SC set out to chase but could manage only 85 as tight lines by the Fort Youngster bowler’s restricted the runflow. Zeal claimed 2 wickets as Kate managed to pick 1 wicket as well. A dominant performance by the Youngsters resulted in a 67-run victory.
