Arise Championship’19 held at Shirdi, Maharashtra and organized by Pro King Sports Academy was conducted successfully in the month of May and was played in franchise cricket format as per APL traditions. This tournament is not only for beginners as well as for fine club players too as it provides experiences as well as platform for budding cricketers to perform.

It was a successful tournament which witnessed some exciting matches and amazing individual performances. The finals of the tournament was conducted on 26th May between Green Range Seniors and Red Panthers Seniors at the Atma Malik Cricket Academy where in Green Range Seniors opting to bat first registered a total of 122/9 in 25 overs. The bowlers did an excellent job coming up with tight spells as none of their batsman could convert their 20’s into a substantial score apart from opener Sandip Burange who scored a hard fought 47 runs. Hasan Khan with 2/10 in 3 overs and Aymaan Shaikh with 2/15 in 4 overs were the pick of the bowlers for Red Panthers.

Chasing a modest total of 123, Red Panthers chased it down successfully in 22.3 overs winning the finale by 4 wkts while Jay Mondu who took 2wkts and scored 22 runs was declared “man of the match

Avinash Salvi Foundation opting to bat first posted a healthy total of 188/3 in 25 overs, Mann Bhanushali(61) & Aditya Khatka (55) top scored the innings with impressive half centuries. Mann played the anchors role hitting a solid 61 off 72 balls while Aditya played a quickfire knock of 55 in 50 balls.

Neralkar Cricket Academy in reply were bundled out for mere 52 runs thanks to some impressive bowling by the ASF Bowlers. All-rounder Aditya Khatka bowled a stunning spell of 4 wkts for mere 3 runs in 3 overs making it an all-round show while Mann who top scored with the bat also chipped in with an impressive spell of 2/15 in 5 overs. Vedant Gore with 3/13 also appeared quite impressive as Avinash Salvi Foundation won the match by a handsome margin of 137 runs.

In the finals of Vijay Hazare Inter Tournament where Avinash Salvi Foundation won the finals, Mann had came up with an impressive spell 3/15 in 5 overs while overall he scored 114 runs with the bat @29.00 and a strike rate of almost 90.00 alongwith 9wkts at an impressive economy of 3.17 & average of 15.37 in 5 matches. In the recently concluded U14 ASF Premier League, Mann was amongst the Best Bowlers bagging 14 wkts in 6 matches at a stunning average of 3.5, econ of 1.63. It was on the back of his promising performance in the ASF Premier league, Mann was also declared the “Most Valuable player” amongst the Juniors.

PAB Cricket Academy opting to bat first posted a total of 162/10 in 34 overs which is certainly not a threatening total. Sanket Jadhav top scored with 43 runs while the rest of the batsman could not convert their 10’s and 20’s. From the bowlers, Prashant Bhoir was the most effective of the lot coming up with bowling figures of 4/21 in 7 overs. Al- rounder Maxwell Swaminathan was also impressive taking 3/18 in 6 overs with 2 maidens while Shashant chipped in with 2/20.

Chasing a modest total of 163, Sporting CC chased down the total in just 31 overs winning the match by 3 wkts. Siddhesh Gavande remained unbeaten on 43* while all-rounder Maxwell Swaminathan scored crucial 40 runs bagging man of the match award for his all-round performance. Prajyot Sakpal with 3/27 was the pick of the bowlers from PAB Cricket Academy while Sporting CC batters eventually emerged victorious.

The stage was set on the 26th of May at the ELF Vengsarkar Oval Ground in Mumbai , for the final of the T20 Masters Cup final. RIKA GLOBAL and Kotak Mahendra Bank went head to head for the title of champions.

RIKA GLOBAL won 3 matches to reach the final. The first was against Vinayak Marine Service , the second against Greensole Titans. They won the semi finals against Super Strikers to earn their place in the finals

Kotak Mahendra Bank won the toss and asked RIKA GLOBAL to bat first. Amit Rathore was the star with the bat as he scored a 33 ball 42 and he was well supported by P Akash , who scored 35 and C Monu who played a blistering knock of 39 of 24 balls. These contributions helped RIKA GLOBAL to reach a respectable 178 for the loss of 4 wickets at the end of their quota of 20 overs. Khatri took 2 wickets for 32 runs while Pawar took 1 for 26 for the Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Chasing 179 to win the final , Kotak Mahindra Bank got of to a fast start with Amar Gosavi scoring a 17 ball 31. R chaudhary scored a run a ball 33 while Anant Kambli scored 37 of 33 balls. Loss of quick wickets got RIKA GLOBAL back in the game. The match was into the last ball with Kotak Mahindra needing 3 runs to win with the last ball to go. C Monu had the ball in the hand. Upenandra Bhawalkar was run out on the last ball taking a second run and RIKA GLOBAL won the match in a scintillating fashion by 1 run and were crowned the champions. Amit Rathore , the captain , was star with the ball just like he was with the bat, as he took 3 wickets for 34 runs , while Akash took 2 for 16.

Amit Rathore was the man of the match in the all important final for his all round performance. RIKA GLOBAL won the final in a thrilling fashion to be crowned the champions of the T20 Masters Cup (Orange) .

Deepak Bandgar’s century and Sanket’s four-wicket haul helped MTM Management cruise to a 99-run victory over Pidilite in the league match of Plate A division in Dreamz Champions Trophy Regural White Ball 2018-19 , organized by Dreamz Sports and played at the MB Union, Cross Maidan, Mumbai on 25th May.

Batting first, Deepak led from the front with 101 off 66 balls, laced with 6 fours and 5 sixes. Rohit (46) gave Deepak the required support. MTM didn’t have a great start as Openers were out for ducks in the second over of the match. But Deepak and Rohit produced a 116 run partnership for the fourth wicket.

In response, Pidilite were bundled for 92 in 14.2 overs as Sanket and Rohit shared seven wickets. Anthony was the only one to reach double figures, scoring 23, and when he became the fifth wicket to fall, Pidilite’s innings came to an end.

Tournament name-Dr.Deshpande Summer League Tournament’19 (MCA)

Benetton CC opting to bat first at Central Maidan, Thane mustered a modest total of 137/10 in 33.4 overs. Nikhil Patil top scored with 47 runs while the rest of the batsman found it difficult to get going. From the bowlers, left arm spinner Vikas Repale was the pick of the lot coming up with impressive bowling figures of 4/43 in 7 overs providing breakthroughs at crucial junctures.

Chasing 138 runs, Ekanth Shinde CC did lost a few quick top order wickets but Sanjay Sansare (44) at no.4 & Hemant Buchade at no.6 top scoring for his team with a match winning 63* off 67 balls (6 fours, 1 six) Sanjay stayed at the crease when wickets were tumbling while Hemant played the finishers role to perfection as Eknath Shinde CC chased down the score in 39 overs winning the match by 5 wkts.

Young Muslim SC batting first at the Cross Maidan ground were bundled out for 149 runs in 29.5 overs. The team lacked batsman who could play a big innings as Youth’s Own Bowlers made life difficult for the batsman. Left arm spinner Shubham Shewale was the pick of the lot coming up with bowling figures of 4/36 in 7 overs with 2 maidens.

Chasing 150, Despite a shoddy start at the top of the order, Youth’s Own Union team chased it down with one wicket in hand. Paresh Shah (25) and Vishal (32) chipped in at the top of the order while Shubham Shewale gave a crucial cameo at no.7 hitting 33 runs off 51 balls.

Youth’s Own Union CC won the match by 1 wkt while Shubham’s all-round show was the highlight performance in the match.

SRT Center opting to bat first at Air India Sports Club, Kalina posted a healthy total of 266/6d in 36 overs. Despite two quick wickets, opener Esha Oza stood tall amongst the bowlers as she went on to score an impressive 101 off 92 balls. An innings where she played the anchors role at a healthy strike rate keeping the scoreboard ticking with 15 boundaries and a six. Apart from her, the rest of the girls chipped in with cameos.

Defending a total of 267, Police Gymkhana center managed to score mere 95 runs in as many as 40 overs with the loss of 8 wkts. A sluggish innings where most of the batswoman took time to settle as the SRT bowlers really bowled tight.

From the bowlers, Esha Oza who first starred with the bat also turned out to be pick of the lot coming up with impressive bowling figures of 3/9 in 6 overs with 2 maidens with her wily spin.

Rising Star Sports Foundation opting to bat first at the SPCA ground posted a big total of 209/3 in 20 overs. Opener Himanshu Kumar laid the foundation for a big score hitting a brilliant 80 off 57 balls while it was the game changer Aryan taking on the bowlers with absolute disdain. Coming at no.4, Aryan went on to score 112* in mere 50 balls hitting 9 fours and 8 sixes en-route his attacking hundred. This becomes the fastest hundred in Kalyan Premier League till date and he also achieved another record of maximum sixes by a batsman in an innings in the KPL tournament.

Vijay Indap Cricket Academy in return failed to keep up with the run rate despite wickets in hand reaching a total of 106/4 in 20 overs. From the bowlers, Harsh and Abhyanshu both chipped in with a wicket each as Rising Star Sports Foundation won the match by 103 runs.

Nalasopara Center after electing to bat first at PDTSA Boisar were bundled out for mere 67 runs in their 1st innings. Apart from Satyalaksh scoring 26, none of the batsman managed to score in double digits. Fast bowler Parth Rao was the pick of the bowlers coming up with a crucial spell of 5/25 in 11 overs with 4 maidens.  PDTSA Boisar team in reply scored 197 runs in their 1st innings with Santosh Naikude (49) and Utkarsh Raut (46) top scoring for their team. Leg-break bowlers Suraj Singh came up with a stunner of a spell bagging 7/58 in 20.5 overs. Suraj managed to trouble the batsman to the hilt as he single handedly gave breakthroughs at crucial junctures.

In a game full of ups and downs, Nalasopara Center gave a stunning comeback in the 2nd innings putting up 346 runs on the board. Jigar Rana played a fabulous knock of 140 runs while Arsalan Shaikh came good with 82 runs in what was a great comeback post 1st innings collapse. Parth Rao bagged another 4wkts in the 2nd innings taking his tally of wickets to 9 in the match.

Chasing a lead target of 218 runs, opener Harshit Janwadkar and Utkarsh Raut took the onus on their shoulders  stitching an unbeaten 214* run stand for the 2nd wicket. Harshit Janwadkar went on to score a classy 4th innings century hitting 119* while Utkarsh remained unbeaten on 86* as both the boys ensured their team won the match in style by 9 wkts.
