Played between KD High School and National English High School at Sainath SC Ground, NES School batting first posted a total of 200/5 in 45 overs.  Opener Smith Pardeshi & Shreyash Gurav gave an excellent start of 62 runs for the 1st wicket where in Smith scored a gritty 35 off 55 while Gurav top scored the innings with a breezy 74 off 133 balls.

Defending 201, NES restricted KD High School to just 125 all out in 36.2 overs. Left arm spinner Bhavesh Chayan proved to be the game changer with the ball coming up with excellent bowling figures of 5/47 in 15.2 overs.

National English School won the match by 75 runs and become the winners of the MCA U16 Inter School Tournament’19

Arch Mavericks batting first at Vengsarkar Academy, Mahul posted a modest total of 135/10 in 20 overs. Arch Mavericks who were struggling at one stage with 3 wkts down for 0 runs on the board somehow got back into the game thanks to their lower order batsman consisting of Nikhil Jain (37) & Vinay Kate (22) who gave crucial cameos down the order. Ashustosh Kulkarni with 4/12 in 4 overs with 2 maidens was the pick of the lot.

Defending a total of 136, the pressure was obviously more on the bowlers and they did perform well under pressure restricting Avengers to 129/9 in 20 overs. Vinay kate came up with an exciting spell of 4/15 in 4 overs as he provided breakthroughs during crucial moments of the game. Nikhil Jain also bagged 2 wkts though he was on the expensive side conceding 42 runs in 4 overs.

DSP opting to bat first at Vengsarkar Academy, Mahul had a batting feast smashing 254 runs in 20 overs for the loss of just 3 wkts. Opener Hitesh Gurjar went all guns blazing smashing a brilliant 101 off mere 59 balls (16 fours, 2 sixes) while he received excellent support from his opening partner Umesh Wadekar (80 off 46 balls) as both the openers stitched a record 193 run stand for the 1st wicket dismantling bowlers in every corner of the ground.

Hiten Sethi Architects (HAS Challengers)  in reply were bundled out for 113 runs thanks to some tight bowling by Neel Parekh (3/16) & Ganesh Patil (3/38) who kept the batsman in check and ensured their team won in a commanding manner by 141 runs.

Milan Memorial corporate league: OMNI Global VS ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank won the toss and elected to field first. The match was conducted at Sassanian cricket maidan on 14th December, 19.

OMNI Global had a decent opening phase, at a stage they were 3 down for 49 and they needed stability. Middle order batsman Hrishikesh Puranik scored a quick fire 50 off 37 balls and came to the rescue, which included 7 fours. With combined effort of all batsmen, they reached a score of 186 runs in 35.4 overs losing all 10 wickets. For ICICI Bank, Nilesh was the star in the bowling line up, he picked up 4 wickets in 8 overs.

ICICI bank had a superb start, they had an opening partnership of 51 runs but after the first wicket, a string of wickets followed which resulted in a dip in their batting graph. No.7 batsman Srinath Iyer(45 off 55) tried to fight back and take the team close but in vain. The team was all out for a score of 167 in 35.4 runs.

For OMNI Global, Pranit Shelar took 4 wickets for 33, Shaunak and Omkar also picked up couple of wickets. Overall, it was a good outing for them.

Pranit Shehlar was awarded the man of the match.

Bayside Sports School Dads Cricket Championships 2019: 

The match between JNS jaguars and MRV Risers was played at Central Railway Cricket Ground on 7th December. MRV Risers won the toss and chose to bowl first.

JNS Jaguars had small partnerships in the middle and with the aegis of captain Hemal Chitalia(23 off 15) and Shantanu Agasti’s diligent 49 runs off 33 balls, they put up a target of 158 runs in 20 overs. They lost 9 wickets in the process.For MRV risers, Harish Shroff picked up 3 wickets under his belt giving 25 runs.

Chasing a target of 158, MRV risers succumbed to the task and their batting line up had little to boast off. Shailesh Sanklav scored 35 runs in 57 balls, despite his efforts to steady the innings they managed to score only 86 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets.

For JNS Jaguars Jimmy Shah, Atul Guneriwal, Vivek Manchanda and Manmeet Gulati picked up 1 wickets each. The pick of them was Jay Pandya who picked up 3 wickets giving up 16 runs. Overall, their bowlers had pretty productive outing.

Match Result : JNS Jaguars won the match by 72 runs.

Shantanu Agasti won the man of the match and Harish Shroff won the Team player of match.

MILAN CORPORATE LEAGUE T20/20 : LIC vs BLOOMBERG QUINT, LIC won the toss and elected to bat first. The match was played at Cross maidan on 14th December. Milan cricket club were the organisers of the match. The Pitch exhibited dampness as usual in the first hour or so, therefore batting first took some toll but later the conditions improved along with time.

Opening for LIC, Sandeep Desai played stupendously scoring a well deserved century off 79 balls. He steered the innings in the initial period very cautiously but maintained the flow of boundaries.Throughout the whole inning he took most of the strike and dealt only with fours, singles and doubles. His innings comprised of 15 classy fours and no frivolous shots. Sandeep carried his bat through the innings and took the team to a fighting score of 159 runs in 20 overs. For Bloomberg quint, Darshan Nakhwa and Ritesh Pillai were the only bowlers who picked up a wicket each.

Chasing a decent target, the Bloomberg quint had a disappointing start and at one stage they were 2-6, Vishal Agarwal and kundan Bhat tried to build the path but despite their efforts the whole team crumbled at a score of 116 runs. They lacked consistent or big partnerships in the middle which let them down. LIC experimented with 9 different bowlers because of the abundance of all round players as well as the cushion of runs and in the process also conceded 29 extras. Sachit Bhosle, the part timer took a hattrick straigh out of the blue and fathomed a shining figure of 3 for 7. Despite all the variations in the bowling department, they still produced a good show with the ball.

AIS Sparks opting to bat first at the Somaiya Cricket Ground could only muster a total of 132/8 in 20 overs. Despite a disastrous start with scoreboard reading 3/15, Niraj Bajaj (39) and Abhishek Javeri (38) chipped in with crucial cameos to take team towards a respectable total. From the bowlers, Nikhil Kothari with 3/30 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot while Alpesh Jain and Harish Mehta bagged 2 wkts each.

Chasing 133, Camp Warriors on the back of Nikhil Kothari’s brilliant 48* off 33 balls chased down the score in just 17.4 overs winning the match by 4 wkts. Camp Warriors had also lost a few early wickets at the beginning but Sangram Singh (27 off 28) and Nikhil Kothari (48*) ensured their team got back into the game in no time.

Balmohan Vidyamandir School opting to bat first at posted a massive total of 353/4 in 42 overs. Top scoring the innings was Saurabh Mahadik who scored an effortless knock of 155 runs pushing his team towards a strong position. Apart from Saurabh, all-rounder Sarthak Patil (53) and Swarup Rane (32) came up with crucial cameos.

Campion School in reply were bundled out for 49 runs in just 19.3 overs. Sarthak Patil came up with an excellent spell of 5 runs for 5 wkts in 5 overs alongwith 3 maidens making it an all-round contribution in the match. Saiprasad Mane also gave good support chipping in with 3 wkts as Balmohan Vidyamandir School won by 304 runs.

In the match between Police Gymkhana & Anushakti Nagar at the Shivaji Park Ground, Police Gymkhana batting first posted a heavy total of 467/9 dec in 78 overs. Despite a shaky top order start, it was their middle order consisting of Atif Khan and Yug Gala which brought their team back into the game with a 145 run stand. Atif coming at no.5 scored 110 off mere 79 balls (16 fours, 4 sixes) while the in-form Yug scored a classy 147 off 166 balls (18 fours). Yug also batted with the wagged tail putting on 109 runs with Akash Dubey who scored 61* (68 balls).  From the bowlers, Samarth Bhatt with 6/107 in 25 overs was the pick of the lot.

Anushakti Nagar in reply were all out for 78 runs in 41.5 overs thanks to a wonderful bowling spell by Zenith Sachdev. The left arm spinner continues his consistency with the ball as he came up with excellent bowling figures of 7/16 in 13.5 overs coupled with 6 maidens.

It was spot on bowling by Zenith who meant business as Police Gymkhana won the match by 389 runs.

In the match between Shivaji Park Gymkhana and DPC (Dadar Parsi Colony Sporting Club), Shivaji Park Gymkhana opting to bat first on Young Maharashtra wicket notched up a total of 233/10 in 65.1 overs. Left-handed opener Sandeep Misal top scored in the innings with a gritty 55 off 58 balls (6 fours). From the bowlers, Karan Patil with 4/55 was the pick of the lot.

Defending a total of 234, Dadar Parsi Colony SC were all out for 91 runs thanks to a superb match winning spell by Omkar Karandikar. Left arm spinner Omkar came up with 5/30 in 14 overs alongwith 5 maidens to ensure his team Shivaji Park Gymkhana win in a commanding fashion by 142 runs.
