U14 Prodigy from Hyderabad, Aryan Reddy who has already clocked over a thousand runs in the Calendar Year 2021 continues his good show with the bat this time on Kiran International Ground in Hyderabad, Telangana.  AV Cricket Academy opting to bat first scored 169/4 in 20 overs with opener Aryan Reddy and Vivek Gagan putting on 81 runs for the 1st wicket. Vivek scored 58 runs while Aryan top scored in the match smashing 69 off 62 balls (9 fours).

MSD Cricket Club in reply gave a tought fight but fell short of 11 runs managing 154/8 in 20 overs. Top order players Praneeth Kumar and Advith Reddy scored half centuries but it was a tight bowling performance from AV Academy bowlers which led to a commanding win for AV Academy team by 15 runs.

JNS Toros after being put to bat first at Fatima Cricket Ground in Vidyavihar, Mumbai could not muster a big total on board scoring 137/5 in 20 overs. Most of the batters found it difficult to convert their starts into big scores with Harish Shroff at no.3 top scoring with 41 runs off 36 balls. All-rounder Pramod Chandan bowled a tight spell of 3/18 in 4 overs being the pick of the lot for MRV Risers.

Chasing 138, MRV Risers chased down the score in 16.4 overs winning the match by 8 wickets. Opener Raj Soni scored a solid 52 off 44 balls to anchor the chase while all-rounder Pramod Chandan played the finishers role at the middle order scoring a crucial 38* off 32 balls pushing MRV Risers to a comfortable win. Real Cricket Academy opting to bat first at National CC, Cross Maidan posted a massive total of 421/7dec in 62 overs.  Openers Lokesh Mistry (40 runs) and Asmith Kashyap provided a solid start with a 90 run opening stand while opener Asmith top scored for his team missing out on a well deserved hundred. Asmith scored 99 off 81 balls which included 17 fours and a six while Vishesh Kamble who came at no.4 was the 2nd highest scorer smashing 76 runs off 64 balls which had 13 boundaries in it.

Boys Cricket Club in reply scored 181/8 in 60 overs with Captain Ayush Ghare (50 off 86 balls) scoring a half century. It was a tight bowling performance from Real Cricket Academy bowlers as they went on to win the match by 240 runs winning on 1st innings lead.

Mumbai, November 26: Reigning champs Payyade will clash with New Hind SC in the opening Group-A two-day match of the Automotive Manufacturing Private Limited-74th Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2020-2021 to be played at the New Hind ground, Matunga over the weekend.

Meanwhile, last editions runners-up Cricket Club of India will meet former champs MIG Cricket Club in a Group-B encounter at the CCI ground, Churchgate. Hosts Mumbai Police Gymkhana will open their campaign against Karnatak SA in a Group-D to be played at the Police Gymkhana ground.

Hot favourites, Parsee Gymkhana, who claimed two successive titles, winning the Talim Shield tournament in October and recently won the Madhav Mantri Centenary One-Day tournament, will hosts Bombay Gymkhana in a Group-C encounter.

The cream of cricketers, representing 16 top teams from the city, will be seen in action during this tournament to be organized under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

The other strong contenders are, Sponsors XI, Parkophene Cricketers, Islam Gymkhana, P.J. Hindu Gymkhana, National CC, Shivaji Park Gymkhana, MCA Colts and Sainath Sports Club.

The 16 teams have been divided into four groups and initially the matches will be played on a league basis. The matches will be played over 70-overs format over three weekends. The top team from each group will qualify for the semi-finals on December 18 and 19 and the 3-day grand finale is scheduled from December 24 to 26.

All the Matches will be played as per the New Model Rules of the Mumbai Cricket Association.

This prestigious tournament, sponsored by Automotive Manufacturing Pvt. Limited and organized under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), will be played at different venues across Mumbai.

The teams that will be vying for the top honours in this competition include defending champions Payyade Sports Club and runners-up Cricket Club of India. Match Played at Youth’s Own Union Cricket Club wicket, Kalpavriksh Cricket Academy batting first scored 267/1 in 40 overs courtesy a massive unbeaten 230* run stand for the 2nd wicket between Ayush Mhatre and Captain Arjun Jaiswal. Both the players counter attacked the bowlers on merit changing the course of the game and pushing Yes CC to a respectable total.

Mavericks (Fatima) in reply were all out for 122 runs courtesy a tight bowling performance by Yes CC bowlers. Vivek V with 5/19 in 4 overs including a maiden was the pick of the lot while Daiwat Rane and Pavan Tarse bagged 2 wkts each as Yes CC cruised towards a comfortable win by 49 runs.

Mumbai: The finals of the top division group of Madhav Mantri Tournament was conducted at Sharad Pawar Indoor Academy Ground in Bandra, BKC where in Parsee Gymkhana were put to bat first by the Karnatak Sports Association team.  Parsee Gymkhana scored an impressive total of 303/8 in 45 overs with the experienced Aditya Tare top scoring with 99 runs off 74 balls (15 fours, 1 six). Aditya delivered when it was required in the all important finals while Parag Khanapurkar (42 runs) and Tushar Deshpande (37* off 18 balls) played crucial cameos at the lower middle order.

Karnatak Sporting Association in reply were cleaned up for 137 runs courtesy an aggressive opening spell by fast bowler Tushar Deshpande who removed both the openers early followed by a crucial spell of 4/23 by all-rounder Shams Mulani. Vikrant Auti also chipped in with 2 wickets.

Parsee Gymkhana won the match by 166 runs and became the champions of Madhav Mantri Centenary One Day Tournament’21. Musheer Khan was declared “Man of the Series” .Bravish Shetty was declared the “Best Batsman” of the tournament award while Vinayak Bhoir recieved the “Best Bowler” award.
