Tournament: Dreamz Trophy 2015 – 2016        

Match : Tata Communications vs. FSS

Having won the toss, Tata Communications chose to bat first against formidable bowling line up of FSS. FSS bowlers put up a great show to restrict Tata for 128 runs in 20 overs. Opener Chandan Patil carried his bat through scoring a well made 61 runs off 60 balls on bowling friendly conditions. 

In response, FSS could muster 123 runs for 7 wickets by the end of 20th over. Interesting fact to observe is FSS gave away 17 extras while Tata bowlers gave away only 7 extras and therefore even after scoring more runs with bat than their opponents, FSS lost by a narrow margin of 5 runs.

Match : Tikona Digital Net Pvt. Limited vs. Asiatic Engineering

In a match played Saturday afternoon at L.I.C. pitch between Tikona and Asiatic engineering witnessed an all round show by Guru Yadav.

Batting first Tikona scored a healthy 177 for 5, mainly due to a fine innings of 74 not out in just 55 balls by opener Guru Yadav. He was well supported by Rakesh Naik who scored a brisk 55 in 30 balls.

In reply, Asiatic could manage only 146 runs for 9 wickets. Imran Patel was lone performed with 70 runs. Guru Yadav contributed with the ball as well picking up 2 wickets. He also happens to be opener bowler for Tikona, a rarity these days to open with both ball and bat.

AFS Cricket League 2015

In the first match of AFS Cricket League 2015- season 2, Friends Club, riding on a suberb bowling performance of Shahbuddin Khan (4/12), defeated Bimla Devi Cricket Club by 7 wickets, thus beginning their campaign on a winning note.

Cooch Behar U-19

Fine century by left handed opener Manjot Kalra 109 and Samarth Seth 66, Sarthak Ranjan 57, Jonty Sidhu 55 batting and Captain Himmat Singh 41 batting helped Delhi 331 for 3 in 90 overs at the end of the first day play of the Cooch Behar Under-19 cricket tournament at Stephens ground.

Delhi Captain Himmat Singh won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener Manjot Kalra and Sarthak Ranjan added 139 runs for the first wicket and Manjot and Samarth Seth added 84 runs for the 3rd wicket and Jonty and Himmat Singh added unbeaten 64 runs for the 4th wicket.

All India SBI Tournament

Superb bowling by leg spinner Dharmender Kumar 5/22 and left arm bowler Rakesh Dhruv 3/12 and fine knock by Sandeep Maniyar 52 no and Kanhaiya Vashela 37 helped Ahmedabad defeat defending champions Delhi by 10 wickets and lift All India State Bank Inter Circle T-20 cricket tournament at Karnail Singh Stadium.

Awards given by Chief Guest Ashwani Mehra- Dy. Managing Director and CDO State Bank and Saba Karim ex. International player and current Indian cricket team selector. On the occasion, organizing secretary Sunil Chugh was also present. Ahmedabad won the toss and elected to field first.

National Inter- School

Riding on 3 wickets by Yathartha Bhardwaj and all round show by Sparsh Joshi (2 wickets, 20 runs), Uttaranchal defeated Uttar Pradesh by 6 wickets in National Inter School Cricket Championship.

UP won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision they regretted later as they were folded for mere 73 runs. Yathartha Bhardwaj bowled a superb spell of 4-2-16-3 and Sparsh Joshi returned with figured of 4-0-18-2.

Uttaranchal lost 4 wickets in pursuit of a small target but eventually achieved it with Sparsh making unbeaten 20 runs and Ashish Chopra making 10*.

Yathartha Bhardwaj has also been adjudged the bowler of the tournament.

 

Tournament : Inter Collegiate 45 over

Match :  CHM college ulhasnager Vs Nktt college Thane

The duo of Vikas Yadav and Amir Ansari contributed with the ball taking 2 and 3 wickets each giving away almost nothing. Their terrific bowling display caused CHM college to bundle out for 81 runs in less than 25 overs.

Nktt easily achieved the target in 19 overs while loosing only 1 wicket.

Tournament : Inter collegiate cricket tournament 45 over game

We had one more centurion in the intercollegiate cricket tournament after Lalit Sharma of Siddharth college. Anis playing for his team J M Patel scored a fine century while chasing. He scored 100 helping his team easily achieve the target of 167 set by C. L. Walia college.

In the same tournament in another match was dominated by bowler, Rohit Yadav. After his team I Y College set up a big target of 265, Rohit claimed 4 wickets of the opposition team, Shailendra Disari college dismantling them for a partly 161. Rohit also contributed with the bat scoring 48 runs.

Tournament : Inter collegiate cricket tournament 45 over game

Match : III rd round Siddharth college vs Gurukul collage of commerce

In the third round match between Siddharth College and Gurukul College of Commerce, Siddharth batted first. Lalit Sharma of Siddharth college scored an attractive century (119 runs) helping his team post more than respectable score of 259 runs in 45 overs.

Gurukul college’s batting line up could not rise to the occasion and were bundled out for a mere 94 runs handing an easy victory to Siddharth.

Next round matches are scheduled for 24th November at Azad / Cross Maidan in Mumbai.

Match between rohit sharma Xi and Sachin Tendulkar XI

Divyansh Saxena scored a brilliant 153 for he team Rohit Sharma XI. He scored his runs in quick time as well. His efforts ensured Rohit Sharma XI declare their innings for 363 for the loss of 7 wickets taking 157 runs lead over Sachin Tendulkar XI.  Other significant contribution from Rohit Sharma XI team was that of Atharv Ankolkar picking up wickets in both innings and also scoring half century with the bat

Sachin Tendulkar XI’s second inning was a repeat of the first inning. Yashasvi once again scored excellent half century scoring 76 runs but failed to get any support from the other end except Atharva Pujari, who scored 47 runs.

Rohit Sharma XI achieved the required 47 target in 11 overs loosing 2 wickets in the process.
