A roller coaster tournament (Architect T20 League) that has seen fortunes fluctuate, dreams made and dreams broken is finally drawing to its inevitable close as we arrive at the last game of this Season – the Grand Finale which has the last two teams standing in the event. In a tournament that has seen so many new teams join the older ones and also welcomed new players on board, the one constant over the years seems to be the presence of SSA Strikers in the last round – they have made qualification for the finals virtually into an art. On the other side we have once again the defending champions Edifice who have played some breathtaking cricket to reach this stage after a not so complimentary start to the tournament.

The final will be played for the Championship Trophy no doubt but there are going to be lots of little battles going on within the main game – none exemplified more than the tussle between Hitesh Gujar from SSA and Mahesh Hirpara from Edifice – both of whom have been the standout players from the tournament –  it is fitting that it should take a final to break the deadlock on virtually all the aspects of individual performance as well as these two are fighting for the top spot in virtually all 5 of the performance spots.

We are looking forward to a great match and we invite you all to come join us in cheering for the two teams and celebrating a wonderful tournament which brings this community together. The final is scheduled to begin at 10:00am on Friday 15th January 2016 at the VENGSARKAR ACADEMY, Mahul .The finals will be followed by the PRIZE CEREMONY in the august presence of all the sponsors. Please do attend this game and help close this tournament on a grand scale.

Omtex cup : Omtex VS ECM Logistics Match – Date-10 Jan
On a difficult batting wicket Ecm logistics captain Ketan thakkar won the toss put Team Omtex to bat which seemed to be the right decision. Playing with 9 players .. Team omtex lost both their openers  for 36 runs in 7 overs. Captain Bhavesh Doshi & Parth Shah put up a decent partnership of 45 runs in 8 overs but a run out ended Bhavesh doshi’s innings &  the partnership with the score on 81 runs in 15 overs .On a difficult batting wicket  Manav Pasad  & Parth Shah put up a match winning partnership of 123 runs of 14 overs before Parth got out after scoring  79 runs of 76 balls with the score on 204 in the 29th over .Manav  soon reached his century 105 runs of 68 balls and just when the platform was set for a big score Manav got out leaving Sagar Pania with the tailenders with 9 overs to go in their innings &  the score on 235 runs .Sagar came into his groove , The tail wagged with him and he scored a quick fire 54 runs of 36 balls and scored 20 runs of the 40th  over from kishore jethwani(4.6.2.4.0.4b) & Team omtex reached a target of 305 in the stipulated 40 overs .
Chasing 306 to win Ecm logistics where 70 for 3 in 15 overs with wicketkeeper batsman Dipesh thakkar caught brilliantly by wicketkeeper  Parth Shah which to me was the catch of the match . Bhagwaan Pania ( 31 runs ) & Jay bhatt ( 30 runs ) had a decent partnership but soon Ecm logistics lost Jay bhatt , Bhagwaan pania & Yatish maroo  in a span of next 4 overs with the score on 151 for 6 in 27 overs .All rounder Ambrish Mehta who joined captain Ketan thakkar at the crease hammered the team omtex bowlers all round the park with a partnership of 86 runs between them taking them closer to the  target before Ketan thakkar was bowled out by Parth Shah in the 35 over for a well played 54 runs from 32 balls …Ambrish carried on  the onslaught scoring a brilliant 53 runs of 36 balls  but did not get able support from any of the batsman from the other end &  soon was out lbw to Sagar Pania playing across the line  which ended the hope of Ecm logistics to reach the required target of 306 runs and Ecm were all out on the last ball of the 40th over for 268 runs
Team omtex won the match by 37 runs to qualify for the semifinals.
Kalpesh Bhuta of Team Omtex was the ‘fielder of the day’ saving not less then 15 runs &  he has been the Highlight of the fielding of Team Omtex in all the matches.

For St. Marys, Chinmay Pathade fought a lonely battle scoring 96 runs, missing a well deserved century by just 4 runs. His knock helped St. Marys post 175 all out. By the end of first day VPM were 70 for 3. Their hopes would be pinned on Deepesh Hemdev who is batting on 32.

The group A final of the Harris shield plate group witnessed a hattrick by Krish Shah of Cathedral School.

Krish Shah, a left arm spinner, not only took the hattrick but also took 6 wickets in total in his 11 overs giving away only 22 runs.

Krish’s heroics helped Cathedral wrap up Swadhyay innings in just 102 runs. Neel Anjaria top scored with 30 runs.

Raju More was in his elements in their team, Mahindra Tractor’s match against Marcura in the Milan T20 tournament.

Marcura would have ruined their decision to bowl first. They failed to take even a single wicket of Mahindra. Mahindra openers piled up the misery for Marcura as they accumulated 195 runs without giving away their wicket in 20 overs. Raju More was the aggressor of the two openers as he scored 102 runs off just 62 balls. He hit 15 fours and 2 sixes.

Marcura gave a good chase, thanks to Hardik who scored 60 off 45 balls. But once he was out Marcura were all out falling short by 53 runs.

In the Semifinal 2 of the Architects T20 Championship trophy, Hellbenders played against the SSA Strikers.

Confident of their chasing abilities, SSA Strikers chose to field first winning the toss. Hellbenders had a pretty good start hitting 50 in the seventh over. Once their openers Khatri (52) and Barpujari (23) were out and Hitesh Gujar was introduced in the bowling attack, Hellbenders lost their way. They regularly kept loosing wickets and could mange 133 for the loss of 9 wickets. Hitesh Gujar and Shedge both took 3 wickets a piece.

Hitesh Gujar is in excellent touch with the bat this season and it showed in Strikers chase. Hitesh scored brilliant unbeaten 79 in just 52 deliveries. Strikers achieved the target in just the 18th over. Aptly Hitesh was declared MoM.
