Held at the Rajokri Cricket Ground in Delhi, it was the nail biting semi-finals between two promising teams namely Jhanjhar NIZ XI & Bal Bhawan Ajmal Khan Cricket Coaching Center on 21/6/17. Bal Bhawan won the toss & elected to bat first on a good flat track which looked good enough to bat first.

Made to bat first, Jhanjhar XI seemed hardly affected by their decision to bowl first as they really batted well to make a very competitive total of 278/9 in 40 overs. Attacking batsman Rishipal Chahar scored a superb hundred playing at a strike rate of above 170 wherein he comfortably smashed boundaries in every corner of the ground. Gaurav Gaud also scored a superb 71 coming off just 60balls which helped them reach a match defining total of 278. Left-arm spinner Mohit Badeshra was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/48 in his 8 overs while another left-arm spinner Ishan Singh took 2/43 in his 6overs.

Chasing 279 at more than 6runs per over is always a pressure situation but Bal Bhawan boys just outclassed the opposition with their terrific batting as they won the match by 2wkts and chased down the score in 38.3 overs. Ankit Pratap scored a 98ball 84 followed by a stunning 32ball 65 by Mayank Rawat which changed the game. Nikhil Gautam also chipped in with a solid looking 66 off 53balls while Ekans Doval remained unbeaten on 32* off just 22balls. Rishipal Chahar also took 4wkts with his medium pace but the opposition were in a different zone altogether on that day.

It was a really tough fight given by both the teams and this is how matches should be while Rishi Pal just won the hearts of everyone with his all-round perfomance. He was also adjudged ‘man of the match’ given by Mr. RP Sharma(Coach of Young Friends CC).  Cricketgraph congratulates the winning team Bal Bhawan who enter into the finals while also wishes luck to all the players for a great cricketing year ahead.
