We have seen Kumble-Harbhajan, we have seen Zaheer and Nehra leading the pace attack, we have seen Javagal and Venkatesh doing the same, similarly it was Aryan Irani and Mayur Deolekar in this particular match who attacked the batsman in tandem together like a team to clean them up. Played at the Worli Sports Club, Parsee Cyclists won the toss and elected to bowl first since they have a in form and a strong bowling attack.
Their decision to bowl first was accurate as they restricted Taki CC to just 133/10 in 38.2 overs where in left-arm spinners Mayur Deolekar and Aryan Irani castled the batsman with their wily spin. In form pace bowlers Farhad and Ajit who have been stunning in this year’s kanga decided this time to let these two bowlers take the onus of troubling the batsman. Aryan Irani came up with stellar bowling figures of 5/19 in 7.3 overs while Mayur Deolekar was equally impressive with his 5/43 in his 13 overs. Both the spinners took 5wkt hauls and showed a great variety of spin and consistency in their bowling.

What’s more he also stitched a match winning partnership of 165runs with the aggressive Aditya Dhumal who also played a gem of a knock coming down the order at no.8 to score 92 off just 97balls(7fours, 1six). Aditya who played at a very healthy strike rate of 96 kept the scorecard ticking while it was their partnership which changed the script of the game. Played at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) in Mumbai, the police shield tournament witnessed amazing performances right from its opening day and one of the best came out from this talented fast bowler Badrey Alam who rattled the opposition with his genuine fast bowling. Parkophene Cricekters won the toss and elected to bowl first in order to restrict CCI to a low total.
Their decision was spot on as they bundled out CCI boys in their own turf for just 51runs in 17.5 overs with only 2players managing to get in the two figure mark. The bowler who destroyed the batting line up single handedly was this right arm fast bowler Badrey Alam Khan who came up with exceptional bowling figures of 7/22 in 9overs. Badrey bowled consistently in the right areas with the right amount of pace which reaped excellent rewards for him. In fact over the years he has proved that he can lead the bowling attack as a reliable 1st seamer for any team he plays for. Badrey was also supported well by Sagar who took 3wkts.

In reply, the strong batting line up of Payyade SC scored 309/9 and batted for 90overs before the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings lead. However, it was Ayush Jethwa at no.3 who once again smashed a rock solid ton scoring 119 off 170balls (15fours) at a healthy strike rate of 70. Left-handed Ayush is looking all set for bigger things in cricket and he is definately amongst the very few players this year in Mumbai who has scored a century as well as taken a 5wkt haul in the same match. Payyade SC win the semi-finals and it was Ayush’s rock solid batting and confusing spin which remained the highlight perfomance of the day! Their decision to bowl first was spot on as Young Stars Marine Drive were skittled out for mere 99runs in 39overs.
