On December 1, Automotive Manufacturers Private Limited (AMPL) completed its 70 years in style, when Team Automotive thrashed Yes Bank by a whopping sum of 142 runs during the Automotive Cricket League at MIG Bandra, Mumbai. AMPL could not have asked for a better start to kick off the new-year than the thumping win achieved by its cricket team on Saturday.
Riding on a master class performance of opening batsman Aditya Shemadkar, Automotive posted a daunting target of 227 in 20 overs. Aditya played an unbeaten knock of 133 (63), smacking 15 boundaries and five sixes. Shemadkar looked in phenomenal touch right from the word go and took the Yes Bank bowlers to task on Saturday morning. Azhar Ansari with a quickfire 44 (30) helped Automotive to get past the 200-run mark. The Yes Bank bowlers had a horrendous day at office and were completely unbankable as they could just pick up four wickets. Abhishek Chaurasia was the pick of the bowlers with 2-39 in his four overs.
In reply, Yes Bank could only manage 85 in 20 overs at the cost of five wickets. Aniket Sharma top scored with 34. The Automotive bowlers were disciplined and hit the right areas to restrict their opposition. Parth Mehta and Sarthak Gangavane scalped couple of wickets each in their four over spells.
Automotive’s Aditya Shemadkar bagged the Man of the Match award for his mind bolwing knock of 133 runs. Aditya expressed, “I am happy that I scored a century today. In my earlier matches I got the odd 30s and 40s but could not play a big innings. Our win today is even more sweeter as out company Automotive is celebrating its 70th anniversary. Mr. Bharat Sanghvi, Mr. Sachin Sanghvi, and Mr. Aditya Sanghvi have been the pillars of strength and have always encouraged us to play cricket”.

Mumbai: Boys Cricket Club will clash against Achievers Cricket Academy in the final of the Under-11 T-21 cricket tournament organized by Sanjeevani Cricket Academy (SCA) at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. In the two semi-finals played today, Boys CC defeated Shahbaz Khan Cricket Academy (SKCA), Mira Road by sixteen runs, while Achievers Cricket Academy secured a convincing nine-wicket win overs hosts SCA.
In the first semi-final, Boys CC scored a fighting 133/3 after electing to bat first. Boys Cricket Club’s star batsman, Yuvraj Mali continued his good form scoring a fine unbeaten 73 in 68 balls. In reply, SKCA, Mira Road batsmen, Shaurya Sharan (42 off 57) and Yatharth Yadav (32* off 25) tried their best, but couldn’t take their side to a victory. Jay Bhanushali picked up two wickets for Boys CC as they emerged as the first team to enter the finals of the tournament.
In the second semis, hosts SCA scored 125/7 after electing to bat first. Opening batsman, Shreyansh Rai, with a solid knock of 71 in 62 balls was the lone contributor for the hosts. Arya Gaikwad bowled well for Achievers CA, picking up three wickets. The Achievers CA batsmen chased the target with great ease as their in-form opener Soham Sali (53* off 49) along with his partner Ayush Kashyap (41 off 44) built a match-winning opening partnership to set-up a final clash against Boys CC.
The final will be played at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala on Sunday, 2nd December at 9:30 a.m.

2nd Semi-final – SCA 125/7 (Shreyansh Rai 71, Arya Gaikwad 3/19) lost to Achievers CA 128/1 in 16.3 overs (Soham Sali 53*, Ayush Kashyap 41, Sourish Deshpande 1/20) by 9 wickets.
Into the all important finals of the IDBI Federal Tournament, Vengsarkar Academy locked horns with Mulund Gymkhana where in Vengsarkar Academy batting first at Mahul Ground notched up a defendable total of 181/8 in 22 overs. Aditya Balivada top scored the innings with a crucial 63 while Tushar Singh smashed a very useful 52 as both the boys ensure the team managed a good target to defend.
Mulund Gymkhana in reply managed 153/6 in 22 overs despite heroic efforts by Saif Khan who scored an unbeaten 75*.
Vengsarkar Academy won the match by 28 runs and win the finals lifting the trophy of the U13 IDBI FEDERAL INSURANCE TOURNAMENT’18.
After electing to bat first at MB Union, Cross Maidan, Teleperformance DIBS were off to a blazing start with openers Jiniv and Priyank giving a stellar 224 run opening stand which not only developed the positive momentum but also took their team into a strong position. Jiniv scored a fluent 103 off 143 balls (13 fours & a six) while Priyank Patel scored a solid 153 off 213 balls (18 fours, 1 six). Both the batsman smashed some regal boundaries and displayed a proper Test Cricket batting as Teleperformance team notched up a total of 427/10 in 94 overs.

Space Sports Club in reply were all out for 332 runs with Neil Narvekar being the pick of the bowlers taking 5/106 in 37.5 overs with 9 maidens in what turned out to be a very impressive spell. Teleperformance were 76/3 in 2nd innings before the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings.
Played at the New Era Ground between Cathedral-John Connon School & Gundecha Education Academy, it was a match which witnessed a terrific bowling spell and clean domination by the Gundecha School.
Gundecha boys batting first were all out for a low total of 105 runs in which Zenith scored 26 off 43 balls. Defending a very low total, the pressure was definitely more on the Gundecha team, however, Zenith made life miserable for the batsman as he came up with a sensational match winning spell bowling 10 overs, 8 maidens, 7wkts and mere 4 runs.
Yes the bowling figures are hard to believe but the youngster did deliver under pressure as Cathedral School were all out for 73 runs losing the match by 32 runs.
Played at the Santosh Sports Cricket Academy in Kalyan, SVIS team won the toss and elected to bat first on the back of their strong batting line up.

SVIS posted a mammoth total of 270/1 in 20 overs as the openers gave an unbelievable start. Rushil Parkar (78 off 53) and Arjun (134*) made a record 270 run opening stand for the 1st wicket where in Arjun Lotlikar was in a completely different zone smashing 17 fours and 3 sixes en-route his blazing hundred.

Kalyan Sports Foundation in reply were bundled out for 40 runs as SVIS managed to clinch a big win by a margin of 230 runs in a T20 match.

Played between Viva College and Holy Family College as Vasantvihar Nagar, Viva College won the toss and elected to bat first posting a massive total of 314/6 in 45 overs. Praktan Kini who came at no.3 top scored with a blazing 185 off just 119 balls which had 28 fours and 1 sixes. It was an innings where Praktan simply took on the bowlers with dominance as he looked all good for a double ton in a limited overs match. The rest of the batsman chipped in around him as Viva College got a healthy total to defend.
The opposition team was bundled out for 54 runs with left-arm spinners Dipesh Meher (5/23) and Sachin Singh (4/19) took it in their hands to ensure their team won by a big margin of 260 runs.
Mumbai: Boys Cricket Club defeated Navroj Cricket Club by a huge margin of 67 runs to storm into the semi-finals of the Sanjeevani Cricket Academy under-11 T-21 cricket tournament played at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. Electing to bat first, Boys CC scored 171/4 as Yuvraj Mali top-scored with 46 in 46 balls and received good support from Aniket Patil who chipped in with a useful 22. Navroj CC faltered in their chase and could score only 104/8 as Sasmit Tare was the lone contributor with a score of 23. Raksham Kumar and Neil Kamat of Boys CC bowled match-winning spells to take their side into the semi-finals.
In the other match of the day, Royal Cricket Club beat Titan Cricket Academy by 10 wickets in a totally one-sided clash. Put into bat, Titan could score only 59/9 as Sarthak Patkar and Tanveer Chauhan picked up two wickets each. Royal CC chased the target with great ease in just 9 overs as Priyansh Wadkar (21 retired off 24) and Chinmay Kirtankar (17* off 22) put together a solid partnership to ensure an easy victory for their side.

Nirlon Sports Club electing to bat first at Western Railway (Cross Maidan) notched up a very big total of 522/5 dec with openers Sandeep Kunchikor and Ankit Shastri giving a flying start of 164 runs. Opener Sandeep who scored a sparkling 93 in Purshottam continued his good run this time scoring a solid 107 off 132 balls while Ankit (93 off 108 balls) falling short of 7 runs for a well deserved ton. Apart from them, youngster Amogh Bhatkal who came at no.3 scored a brilliant 101 off 109 balls while & Ishan Mulchandani (104*) and Saurabh Singh (100) smashed tons at the middle order as Nirlon had a massive 1st innings total in hand.



Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd in reply were all out for 161 and 136 runs as Nirlon won the match outright by an innings. Hemand Buchade with 5 wkts in 1st innings and all-rounder Ankit Shastri with 4 wkts in 2nd innings were the chief tormentors with the ball as Nirlon team dominated with full confidence.
