The “Centre of Excellence For Cricket” summer coaching Scheme will be organised by Jwala sports foundation from April 22 to May 9, at Mumbai Police Gymkhana and Oval Maidan.
During this programme ex–India crickter Wasim Jaffer, ex-Srilanakans fast bowler Chaminda Vaas , spinner Rangana Hearath alongwith and Mumbai Ranji coach Vinayak Samant and Jwala Singh will coach the boys.
This will be one of the biggest coaching programmes for the last three years where three big international cricketers and top coaches will impart their expertise to the trainees between 8 to 18 years of age .in various aspects of tactics, skill mental and physical fitness etc. Those interested to join the camp can attend the selection trail on April 15 at 9.30 at at plot number 8 Oval Maiden. Powered by Vinay Kene’s soild unbeaten 86 runs knock, Century Rayon CC charged to a 79-run victory against Sachivalaya Gymkhana in a second round match of the Air India Invitation T20 tournament organized by Air India Western Region and played at the Air India ground, Kalina.
Century Rayon batted first and amassed a total of 187 for the loss of seven wickets from their 20 overs. Besides Kene’s fine efforts the other batsman who made a useful contribution was Roshan Jadhav who scored 34 runs.
Later, Sachivalaya Gymkhana was restricted to 108 for eight wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Jagdish Waghela (40 runs) and Dinesh Divekar (25 runs) tried to put up a fight. Century bowlers Ganesh Dhone (2/11) and Roshan Jadhav (2/9) claimed the wickets.

DMCC Sports Club VS MET Sports Club

Brief Scores : – Met Sports Club 94 all out in 17.4 overs (Vinish Philips 29; Rahul Chandorkar 2/12, Vaibhav Patil 2/19) lost to DMCC Sports Club 96 for 5 wickets in 16.2 overs (Vaibhav Patil 46*; Noel Fernandes 2/24). Result :- DMCC Sports Club won by 5 wickets.

Played at the Dilip Vengsarkar Academy, Mahul, it was the all important finals between Dombivali Boys CC and Masters Sports Association of Navi Mumbai where in Boys after batting first could only muster 122/9 in 20 overs. The bowlers bowled tight with Mukund Sarkar (3/19) and Rohit Desai (2/11) being the pick of the bowlers.
Masters Sports Club in reply chased down the score with superlative ease winning the match by 7 wkts and 1.2 overs to spare. The promising Siddharth Mhatre once again came up with a match winning knock of 66 runs in 52 balls while cameos by Shreeraj Gharat (21) and Pushkar Sharma (19*) sealed the chase as Masters Sports Club won the tournament in grand fashion.

Mumbai after being put to bat first posted a decent total of 273/6 in 50 overs where in opener Jemimah Rodrigues smashed more than half of the team runs batting the full quota of 50 overs to score 140* off 145 balls. Jemimah who is in supreme touch with the bat displayed class and panache hitting 16 fours and 2 sixes to take his team towards a respectable total.
Jharkhand team in reply were all out for 200 runs in 46 overs as the bowlers did not allow the opposition team to settle down and score runs freely as Mumbai won the match by 73 runs.
Jemimah now has 722 runs in 9 ODI’s at a stunning average of 120.33 just proving her immense talent and supremacy with the bat. With this win Mumbai also reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

Captain Parag Patil’s stormy 58 off just 27 powered Ordinance Factory to a 101 runs big victory against GIC Sports Club in a second round match of the Air India T20 Tournament 2019, organized by Air India Sports Club (WR) and played at the Air India Cricket Ground, Mumbai on Tuesday.
After the toss, Ordinance Factory had made massive 196 for 6 in 20 overs. They faced little difficulty in negotiating the rival bowling attack but scored runs freely and they amassed a huge total, and they also produced a 93 run partnership for the first wicket. While, starting was bit difficult for the Future Group, as they lost 2 for just 33 runs. Opener Rugved More also batted very well, but made only 49 off 35 balls.
GIC’s Siddharth Kumar batted gutsily in scoring 35 runs but unfortunately received no support from the other batters. The GIC collapsed from 76 for 2 to 95 all out in pursuit of 197 in 20 overs.
Vijay Chinnamuthu of Ordinance Factory won the ‘Man-of-the-Match’ title. He claimed 5 for 13, consistently rushing batsmen with his deceptive pace. Parag Patil 2-5 in two overs was outstanding.


At the same day, Deepak Kumar’s solid 55 off 51 powered Western Railway Traffic to a 44 run victory against Times Shield Cricket in a round match of same tournament. Put in to bat first, Western Railway Traffic had made just 158 for 7 in 20 overs. Manoj was the best pick of the Times Shield. In reply, Times Shield were at 114 for all out by the start of 19th over. Western Railway Traffic won the match by 44 runs because of Hitesh Patil’s all-round performance. Hitesh Patil also won the ‘Man of the Match’ title.

At the Elf Vengsarkar Ground, Churchgate, Mumbai on Thursday, they played out perhaps the best final ever seen in a major tournament. Rika Global slumped to their last straight loss in finals of Masters Cup T20 (Green) 2018-19 . They first struggled to 167 for 8, and then saw Harshad Terwankar wallop 55. This knock helped Maxicon Lines overcome a late wobble to secure a six-wicket win. They won the championship final match.
Rika Global won the toss and elected to bat first. After the early wicket of Yasin, opener stole the show,53-run stand off 38 balls between P. Akash and Manish had already set Rika Global on track for a defendable score. P. Akash was by a distance the more explosive of the two, hitting a single six and fourteen fours – to hurtle to 78 off 49 balls. Harshad Terwankar (2/23) was the pick of the Maxicon Lines.


Harshad Terwankar of Maxicon Lines won the ‘Man-of-the-Match’. Harshad picking up 2 for 23 in four overs, including the master Eco of 5.75 . He also smashed 55 of 32, including eight fours and two sixes. Maxicon Lines won the hearts by the start of 17th over, Lines won convincingly.

We were trying to stop them by 150. But, their opener Akash was playing furiously and finally got out in the 17th over. And they ended up at 167. In reply, during the power plays, I was trying to play slowly. After the first wicket, Jayesh was giving me a good company. It was a good start for our team. Then we lost three wickets in a low interval. That was a moment of scary for our team. On Saturday, PJ Hindu Gymkhana XI locked horns against National Sports Club of India (NSCI) XI at the former’s den in the GDCL. Winning the toss and electing to field first, PJ Hindu Gymkhana bundled out NSCI for 160 in 20 overs. The opening pair of Paras Zaveri (24 off 13) and Karan Chugh (30 off 20) provided a solid start to NSCI, with wicket-keeper Ankit Bhalaria (28 not out off 29) and Vishal Shah (26 off 13) pushing the team total to a challenging sum. PJ Hindu Gymkhana bowlers bowled well in tandem, as Kunal Shroff, DwijAdhvaryu, and Saurabh Bahutule picking up two wickets each. Vedant Gabhawala and Bakul Mistry accounted for a solitary wicket apiece.
Chasing a respectable target of 161, the home team got off to a flying start thanks to Suhail Mistry (69 not out off 56) and Saurabh Bahutule (27 off 17). Coming in at number 3, Megh Adhvaryu capitalized on the start provided by the openers and hammered a 25-ball 43 to take the game away from the opposition. Kunal Shroff too chipped in with a run a ball 15. Harsh Mehta and Sanjay Bohra of NSCI were among the wickets as they struck with 2-28 and 1-22 respectively in their four overs each.PJ Hindu Gymkhana won the match comfortably by seven wickets with five balls to spare.
PJ Hindu Gymkhana’s Suhail Mistry bagged the Man of the Match award for his stellar batting performance.

Mumbai Cricket Club thrashed Shivsena XI by 7 wickets to win the final of the Santosh Kumar Ghosh U-16 Tropohy tournament, played at Mahim juvenile ground (Shivaji Park) here today.
Put into bat , most of the Shivseva XI batsmen, barring their skipper Sivam Shah (32), were all at sea while facing the MCC pace and spin attack and were b0wled out for 110. Aman Maniar (3/24), Yashim Shaikh (2/10) shared the bowling honours. In reply, Mumbai CC , lost three wickets midway before their captain Ayaz Khan, Tanmay Buram saw them home with seven wickets in hand.

Brief scores : Shivseva XI 110 (Divam Shah 32; Aman Maniar 3/24, Yashim Shaikh 2/10) lost to Mumbai CC 111/3 (Kapil Yadav 26, Prajwal Rai 30, Ayaz Khan n.o. 28, Tanmay Buram n.o. 21; Parikshit Dhank 2/27) by 7 wkts.
Altaf Cricket Academy after winning the toss and opting to bat first scored a healthy total of 198/6 in 45 overs. Shaun Gomes played an impressive knock of 67 runs top scoring for his team while Sumeet Mishra was equally impressive in his gritty knock of 58 runs.
KMCA in reply chasing 199 were bundled out for 157 runs in 37 overs. The bowlers did a commendable job helping their team Altaf Cricket Academy win the match by 42 runs and getting qualified for the semi finals.
In the latest match of Altaf CA vs TVM Superstars, the TVM bowlers crushed Altaf CA for a record lowest total of 35 runs and and won the match by 8 wkts. Azar was declared Man of the match for brilliant bowling performance 5 overs 4 maidens and 3 runs taking 2 wkts.
After recently coming in the news for his blazing batting in the T20 Format where he has scored as many as 8 tons at a strike rate of 240+ alongwith 100+ sixes in the last 4-5 months, Dharmesh continues to score consistently across various local tournaments.
In the TPL League match between Crossfuse and Thunderbolts at the Thakur Ground on 6th April, Dharmesh scored a 56 ball 95 (12 fours, 5 sixes) taking the team to 188/8 in 20 overs. Thunderbolt Strikers in reply managed to score only 131/4 in 20 overs as Crossfuse won the match by 57 runs where in Dharmesh definitely stood out as a performer.
In the next day which followed on 7th April, Dharmesh opened the innings for Vinayak Marine Services in the all important semi finals of the T20 Masters Cup where he scored a brutal 89 runs off 42 balls (11 fours, 4 sixes) at the Vengsarkar Academy, Mahul. Dharmesh also shared a 172 run opening stand with Jay Pandya (72 off 44) which took his team to 206/8 in 20 overs. Vinayak Marine Services eventually won the match by 65 runs vs Titans Greensole XI.
In the match which was held on 9th April, Raging Rhinos team posted an unbelievable total of 182/4 in 10 overs. Dharmesh once again did what he does best this time scoring a destructive 91 off mere 25 balls (10 fours, 8 sixes). He also got good support from his skipper Pratik Chitalia who scored 59 runs in 23 balls. The opposition team Speedy Cheetahs managed to score only 84 runs in reply as Raging Rhinos won the match with quite a big margin.
The way Dharmesh has been batting, he certainly seems to be a valuable pick in tournaments like MPL & IPL!
