KC Gandhi High School after being put to bat first at Union Cricket Academy Ground in Kalyan managed to post a moderate total of 119/3 in 20 overs. Despite wickets in hand, they found it difficult to attack in the death overs. Karan (35*) and Prathamesh Patil (19*) with their quick cameos ensured atleast a respectable total for KC Gandhi. PAB bowlers really did an impressive job coming up with economical and tight bowling spells.  Darshan Rathod (1/25 in 4 overs), Pranay Shinde (0/21 in 4 overs) and Daksh Patil (0/20) were particularly impressive not allowing the batsman to free their arms.

PAB Cricket Academy in replay chased down the score in 19.4 overs winning the match by 5 wkts. Their openers put up a 65 run stand with opener Raj Patil contributing the bulk of the runs and remaining unbeaten on 44* off 62 balls. On a wicket which supported the bowlers more from both the teams, it was certainly difficult to score runs but a calm knock by Raj ensured his team crossed the victory line with ease.

Raj Patil was awarded the man of the match award for his steady unbeaten knock

It was a commanding win for PAB Cricket Academy as they reach the finals of the prestigious U12 Salgaonkar Tournament ‘19

Boys Cricket vs Sportsman CC

Sportsman CC after opting to bat first were not able to post a big total on the board getting all out for 105 runs with opener Shubham’s 22 being the highest score. The bowlers were quite impressive with Shreyas Kulkarni coming up with the best spell so far of season 9 taking 4/14 in 4 overs. Yash Singh with 3/12 in 3 overs and a maiden was equally impressive.

Chasing 106 was a mere formality as Boys CC chased it down in 11.5 overs winning the match by 8 wkts. Sachin Yadav who remained unbeaten on 36* finished the match in style with a six. Shreyas Kulkarni for his effective spell of 4/14 was declared “man of the match

Benetton Cricket Club vs DSCA TPL

Benetton CC after being put to bat first put up a total of 183/5 in 20 overs which is quite a competitive total. Wicket-keeper batsman Sanjay Sansare top scored smashing an impressive 82 off 54 balls at no.3 (8 fours, 3 sixes) while Ketan Patil’s blazing 20 ball 51 at no.6 which had 5 sixes propelled the team towards a healthy total. Ketan’s 20 ball 51 also becomes the fastest fifty so far in this season of TPL.

DSCA TPL in reply managed to reach only 163/9 in 20 overs thanks to some tight bowling by the Benetton bowlers. Pranav Dhanavade (46 off 30 balls) and Shashank Jadhav (43 off 30) were looking dangerous at one point but Rupesh Tiwari (2/27 in 4 overs) and Rahul Solkar (2/32 in 4 overs) came up with crucial spells as Benetton CC won the match by 20 runs while Sanjay Sansare was declared ‘Man of the match”

Over the years Mandar Garude has been one utility player who often comes very handy with the bat and very lethal with the ball too.

Intellect Designs after being put to bat first at the Oval Maidan Ground were reduced to just 55 runs all out in 14.3 overs. Leading from the front as the pick of the bowler, Mandar Garude came up with envious bowling figures of 5/12 in 3 overs. Mandar was spot on not allowing any batsman to settle which eventually resulted in Intellect Designs getting all out for a very low total. Abhijeet Chavan with 3/16 in 4 overs was also impressive.

Chasing 56 runs was a mere formality as WNS B openers sealed the game in 5.4 overs with Saurav Tendulkar (13*) and Harshad Mahulkar (39*) remaining unbeaten.

WNS B won the match by 10 wkts and almost 14.2 overs to spare while Mandar Garude was declared ‘Man of the match”

PAB Cricket Academy vs V3 Sports

PAB Cricket Academy after being made to bat first posted a total of 140/9 in 20 overs. Skipper Sanket Jadhav and Keeper Bhavik Thakkar opening the innings gave a flying start putting up 102 runs for the 1st wicket. Sanket scored a 41 ball 49 while Bhavik Thakkar smashed a 47 ball 56 to set the tone for their innings. However, the batsman below them failed to capitalize in a game which was at one point looking good for 170-180 odd runs.

V3 Sports despite opener Japjeet Randhawa’s solid 62 off 57 balls failed to keep up with the run rate as the rest of the batsman played at a strike rate below 100.00. V3 Sports reached 130/4 in 20 overs as PAB Cricket Academy won the match by 10 runs. The bowlers did an excellent job most notably Prajyot Sakpal (0/22 in 4overs), Bhavin Darji (1/22 in 4 overs) and Sultan Khan (0/23 in 4 overs) with the ball.

Rocket CC after being put to bat first at the Oval Maidan were bundled out for just 83 runs in 24 overs which is a low score to defend. Apart from Ajinkya Kadam’s 31, most of the batsman failed to register their scores in double digits. The bowler who wrecked havoc over the opposition was off-spinner Omkar Maldikar coming up with envious bowling figures of 6/29 in 8 overs. Omkar kept on giving breakthroughs at regular intervals while he ran through the middle order of Rocket CC with a lethal hat-trick which made things worse for the opposition. Omkar was spot on with the ball as he kept on bowling at line and length which was difficult for the batsman to read. This was also the 1st hat-trick in the current season of Kanga Knockout 2019.

Stylo Cricketer in reply chased down the score in 21.4 overs and won the match comfortably by 6 wkts.
