Utkarsh Vidyalaya after opting to bat first at Sainath Sports Club ground were all out for 109 runs in 35.2 overs. The bowlers did a really good job of restricting the opposition to a low total wherein Nitin Mourya was the pick of the lot coming up with 4/29 in 8.2 overs alongwith 2 maidens. Rohit Melge with 2/22 also bowled well.

Viva College in reply chased down the total with ease scoring 112/5 in 28.2 overs winning the match by 5 wkts. Ihsaan Amin scored a crucial 30* off 52 balls alongwith all-rounder Nitin Mourya who chipped in with 25 runs making it an all round performance towards his team’s win.

With this win, VIVA College win the finals and become the winners of the MCA Intercollegiate U19 Cricket Tournament’19

 

 

Canara Vijay CC after being put to bat first at Sydenham College Cricket Ground were bundled out for 62 runs in 1st innings in 25.2 overs thanks to a brilliant spell of bowling by Sagar Khatri who came up with 5/16 in 13.2 overs. Dhawal Khimani also bowled well coming up with 4 wkts.

Mohan CC in reply declared their 1st innings at 144/5 in 24.1 overs with opener Prashant Yadav (46) & Ameya Dighe (31) top scoring for Mohan CC. With a trail of 82 runs, Canara Vijay were again bundled out for a low total of 109 runs in 25.3 overs giving a target of just 28 runs to Mohan CC.

 

In the 2nd innings Sagar once again proved too difficult to handle coming up with 7/41 in 12.3 overs. For Mohan CC it was a mere formality to chase in 2nd innings as they won the match by 10 wkts outright

VK Krishna Menon School batting first at Islam Gymkhana ground notched up a massive total of 449/5 dec in 71.2 overs. Shashvat Kapoor who had scored a hundred in his previous outing continued his terrific form scoring a swashbuckling 196 off 150 balls vs Children’s Academy. Coming at no.4, Shashvat also stitched a match winning 251 run stand with Yash Sabnani who scored 138 off 128 balls.

Children’s Aid Academy in reply were all out for 107 runs and 65 runs in both their innings as VK Krishna Menon won the match outright by an innings & 277 runs. Akshat Pathak from VK Krishna Menon took 6 wkts in the match while Kush Yadav and Mustafa bagged 3 wkts a piece to ensure VKKM won the match in a commanding manner.

Kulwindar Singh-Automotive Purple Cap Winner for the month of November’19

When it comes to being the top contenders for Automotive Purple Cap, there were hardly any players who gave stiff competition to Kulwindar. In the 3 T20 matches Kulwindar played in Shri Barku G Patil T20 League’19, kulwindar bagged a stunning 11 wkts in 3 games with best bowling figures of 4/11 in 4 overs vs Tvacha team. It’s on the back of Kulwindar’s consistent bowling, his team Andheri Medico has been able to dominate in the tournament.

Mazgaon CC after being put to bat first at Oval Maidan were in deep trouble at one stage with 3 wkts down for 8 runs, however it was Sangram Bagul at no.3 who rescued his team from a low total. Sangram went on to score a thrilling 100* off 105 balls (10 fours) while he was nicely supported by Siddhesh Gavande who scored 67* off 76 balls (7 fours). Both Siddhesh and Sangram stitched an 131* run unbeaten stand for the 4th wicket as Mazgaon CC declared their innings at 198/4 in 40.2 overs.

Shantbhai Seth Memorial CC in reply survived a narrow escape batting out 40 overs with just one wicket in hand at the end of the game’s play. The unbeaten 28 balls faced by tailenders Zenith (0*) and Abhishek (0*) helped Shantibhai team save the match.

 

It was an exciting match with a great competition where in both the teams fought it out and gave their best to clinch a win.

T-20 masters cup 2019-20 – Orange advertising took on star India on 7th December, 19 at ELF Vengsarkar Oval Ground, Mumbai, Star India won the toss and Elected to bowl first.

Opener Shreyas Rao scored a decent 33 off 34 runs, the top order failed to consolidate but the lower middle order batsmen played their part to the fullest. Sachin Chitkule Scored quick 36 runs off 29 balls and Dushyant Sharma scored a mind boggling innings of 50 runs off just 22 balls with 4 sixes and 4 fours. They scored 173 runs in 20 overs losing 8 wickets. For Star India, Rohan Naik picked up 3 wickets.

Chasing the score of 174 runs, the star India batsmen failed to put a solid show and very few batsmen scored in double digits.

They were able to score only 63 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets. The Orange advertising bowlers bowled pretty well, the pick of the bowlers was Nitin Deshmukh picked up 2 wickets for 5 runs.

Result – Orange advertising won by 110 runs.

Milan corporate league T20-20  Pink Ball, Mumbai 7 Dec. 2019 : Edelweiss took on Tata communication on 7th December in cross maidan. Edelweiss won the toss and chose to field first. It is organized by Milan cricket club.

The fact that only 1 batsman scored in double figures for the Tata communication team signifies why the team was bowled out for 54 runs in 13.4 overs. For the Edelweiss, Zaheer Shaikh picked up a superb fifer, he grabbed a figure of 5 for 17 in 4 overs. Sagar Gupta also picked up 3 scalps.

Chasing a target of 55 runs turned out not to be a difficult task for the Edelweiss team. The quick 33 runs partnership of top order almost sealed the victory for them and they chased down the target in 9.3 overs losing 4 wickets. For Tata communication, Amit Patkar picked up couple of wickets.

Match result – Edelweiss won by 6 wickets.

In the match between Mumbai and Kerala at the S D College, Alappuzah, Kerala Cricket Association batting first were all out for 125 runs in their 1st innings. Apart from opener Varun Nayanar’s 56, most of the batsman did not even manage to score in two digits. From the bowlers, Rajesh Sardar with 5/41 in 20 overs and Tushar Kadam with 4/36 were the pick of the lot.

Mumbai team in reply scored 354 runs in 127.1 overs thanks to a brilliant century by wicket keeper Vaibhav Kalamkar. Coming at no.6 when Mumbai were 140.5 at one stage, Vaibhav once again soaked the pressure hitting a fluent 116 off 176 balls (13 fours , 1 six) while he received good support from Himanshu Singh (53) and Akash Mishra (34) down the order.

Also the interesting part with Vaibhav is that all his hundreds have come at the middle order under pressure. Before this hundred, Vaibhav had also scored tons in Police Shield and Shalini Bhalekar Trophy.

Kerala in the 2nd innings were again all out for 138 runs and this time it was opener Abhishek Nair scoring a hard fought 57* off 203 balls. However that innings did not prove to be enough as Mumbai won the match by an innings and 91 runs. Himanshu Singh (4/36) and Rajesh Sardar (3/43) were the pick of the lot for Mumbai in the 2nd innings as Mumbai clinched an emphatic win.

In the match between HDFC & Bharat Arun Kumar team at the Azad Maidan Ground, B Arun Kumar opting to bat first were all out for 80 runs in 33.1 overs. Sandeep Jadhav (32) and Shamit Shetty (18) chipped in an otherwise dismal batting performance. From the bowlers, Nishant Devadiga was the pick of the lot coming up with excellent bowling figures of 5/31 in 14 overs with a maiden.

For HDFC, everything was going right, the bowlers performed well, opposition got all out for a low total and they were looking favorites for a win until the experienced Shamit Shetty came in with some crucial blows with the ball. Shamit literally changed the game bagging 7 wkts in 9 overs while conceding mere 11 runs to bundle out HDFC for 55 runs all out.

Shamit was also ably supported by Sandeep Jadhav who took 3/24 as B Arun Kumar SC successfully defended a low total to win the game from nowhere.

Young Friends CC batting first at Azad Maidan scored a total of 208/8 dec in 57 overs. No.3 batsman Kaushik Kharat (51) and left hander Wajidali Khan at no.5 top scored with a flashy 90 off 84 balls for Young Friends CC. Amongst the bowlers, left arm spinner Amit Kanoujiya with 3/45 was the pick of the lot.

Star CC in reply scored 137/5 in 29 overs and a major chunk of runs was scored by their opener Suhrut Kadam who plonked an unbeaten 100* off 86 balls. Sushrut kept the scoreboard ticking despite wickets falling from the other end as he smashed 13 fours and a six en-route his century.

However, the match ended in a draw with no 1st innings results being obtained.
