Regal CC batting first at PJ Hindu Gymkhana ground posted a total of 292/10 in 68.1 overs. Openers Japjeet Singh Randhawa (77) and Pranay Patil (73) gave a brilliant opening start of 149 runs which laid the foundation for Regal’s innings. Viraj Jadhav (43) and Sumedh Kamble (60) at the middle order also gave crucial contributions. Amongst the bowlers, Aryan Patni with 4/92 in 19 overs was the pick of the bowlers while Daksh and Sachin bagged 3 wkts each.

Chasing 289, Goregaon SC were off to a decent start with opener Vedant Gadia scoring a brilliant 124 off 164 balls. Young Vedant in his debut Purshottam match certainly looked quite confident vs players seniors to him as he rotated the strike freely while smashed 16 confident boundaries. However, he lacked support from the other end as Goregaon SC lacked big partnerships.

In what turned out to be a thriller of a match, Regal SC successfully defended the total restricting Goregaon SC to 288 all out and winning the match by just 4 runs. The Sachin Khartade run out and Viraj Jadhav taking the last wicket turned the game in the crucial last 15 mins as Regal CC clinched a memorable win. For Regal, Saeed Khot (4/93) and Viraj Jadhav (3/29) were the pick of the bowlers.
Mumbai: Greater Mumbai Police produced a strong all-round performance and registered a convincing 8-wicket win against Pune Police in the final of the Inter-District cricket tournament 2019 for the Martyr Ashok Kamte Memorial Trophy, organized by Superintendent of Police, Palghar and played at the Shivpark Cricket Ground, Nalasopara.
The Mumbai Police has successfully retained their title.
Batting first Pune Police were dismissed for 136 runs in 19.5 overs. Middle order batsmen Pruthviraj Gaikwad (22 runs) and Amar Salve (19 runs) lifted the Pune Police innings. Mumbai Police medium pacers Amit Jadhav (3 for 14) and Yogesh Patil (2 for 8) were responsible for restricting the opponents to a small total.
In reply, Mumbai Police opening batsmen Sudhakar Siddul (53 runs) and Sunil Patil (35 runs) ensured they reached the winning target scoring 139 runs for the loss of just two wickets in 16.2 overs. Shrikant Limbole (28 runs) and Rohit Pol (20 runs) completed the finishing touches. Gaikwad (1 for 40) and Ankush Dighe (1 for 20) got the wickets.
There was reason for celebration for the Mumbai Police team as they bagged all the three individual awards. Rohit Pol was declared as the ‘Man of the Tournament’ the ‘Best bowler of the tournament’ award was claimed by Kailas Kolekar and the ‘Man of the final’ prize went to Sudhakar Siddul.

Fort Vijay batting first at MIG Cricket Ground were at one stage in deep trouble with half of the team back to pavilion with 123 runs on board. Coming at no.6 when the team was in trouble, Patil changed the game from nowhere smashing a blazing 233 off mere 158 balls laced with 21 fours and 11 sixes. Not only is this the highest score so far this year in Purshottam, but this is also one of the fastest double tons in the history of Purshottam Shield’19. Nikhil Patil was nicely supported by lower order batsman like Siddarth Mhatre (49) & Rohit Yadav (50) as Fort Vijay from 123/5 reached a commanding total of 452/9 in 70 overs.

Worli Sports Club despite a solid 66 by opener Viraj Gamre were all out for 188 runs with left arm spinner Kunal Thorat coming up with excellent bowling spell of 5/54 in 17 overs. Kunal got some crucial wickets at crucial junctures as he ensured the opposition team remained on the backfoot.
Fort Vijay eventually won the game by 264 runs while it was Nikhil Patil grabbing all the attention with his power packed double century.
Into its 3rd season, Patan Premier League will kickstart from 28th December 2019. The tournament has been going on since the last 3 years and with every year the level of the tournament has just increased. The tournament is conducted in T20 Format and all the participating players are from Patan Gujarat.

Yogi CC opting to bat first at Police Gymkhana Ground made a fine total of 323/6 in 45 overs. Despite a few early wickets, it was their opener Dishant Dedhia (72) and Niranjan Paradkar (112) stitching a 172 run stand for the 3rd wicket. Niranjan scored an attacking 112 off mere 83 balls which had 13 fours and 3 sixes while Dishant played the supporting role to perfection. Rajesh Bambhania at lower middle order gave the perfect finish to the innings with his quick 39 ball 62* which had 5 fours and 3 sixes.

Garware Club in reply were all out for 130 runs thanks to a match winning spell by spinner Vikas Chaubey who came up with 5/32 in 6 overs. Vikas was spot on coming up with timely breakthroughs as he eroded the entire middle order to ensure Yogi CC win the game by 193 runs.
Payayde Sports Club opting to bat first at Karnatak Sports Association, Cross Maidan notched up a total of 375/6 in 70 overs. After a decent opening stand by A Herwadkar (36) and Vikrant Auti who stitched 85 runs, it was left handed Auti pairing up with another left hander in Parag Khanapurkar who came at no.3 to stitch a 150 run stand for the 2nd wicket. Vikrant Auti scored 118 off 152 balls (18 fours) while Parag smashed an aggressive 136 off 125 balls in his typical fashion hitting 15 fours & 2 sixes. From the bowlers, all-rounder Ravishankar Singh with 3/66 was the pick of the bowlers.
Muslim United SC in reply were all out for 191 runs with Deepak Kumar’s 56 being the highest score alongwith Ravishankar Singh’s 44*. Payyade bowlers did a great job with the ball with Pradeep Sahu and Badrey Alam bagging 3 wkts each as Payyade SC went on to win the game by a big margin of 184 runs.
It won’t be an overstatement to say that Auti and Khanapurkar have been two of the most consistent left handers in the top division Club cricket in Mumbai in the last few years. Vikrant and Parag both have represented Mumbai team and they look all prepared to make a comeback in the Mumbai Senior Team whenever a call up is made to them.
Parsee Gymkhana batting first on their homeground batted well posting a total of 367/9 in 70 overs. With a sluggish top order start, it was the experienced Suryakumar Yadav scoring a match saving 180 off 191 balls. It was an innings which spoke a lot about his current composure and the zone which he is in as he smashed 24 fours and a six en-route his thumping 180. Nikhil Patil at no.6 was the 2nd highest scorer hitting 62 off 85 balls (8 fours, 1 six).

Mumbai Police who boast of an equally experienced line up found it difficult to get going vs the quality bowling attack on opposition’s home ground as they were all out for 69 runs. Left arm spinner Aditya Dhumal came up with match winning spell of 5/24 in 10 overs while quickster Shivam Malhotra was equally effective bagging a brilliant 5/35 in 12.2 overs as both these bowlers attacked in tandem to restrict Mumbai Police team to a very low total.
T20 MASTER’S CUP (GREEN) 2019-20 : Kotak Mahindra took on Greensole Titans at ELF Vengsarkar Oval, Mumbai on 22nd December, 19. Greensole Titans won the toss and chose to bowl first.The match was organized by ONEWORLD SPORTS. The wicket was damp and slow during the first 10 overs but it later improved along the course of game.
Titans’ bowlers dominated in the middle and were lethal in attacking together. The fast bowlers got healthy purchase of the wicket and at 15.4 overs, they had tied the Kotak Mahindra batsmen to only 101 runs and also earned 4 wickets.
After that, Chandrashekhar patil stepped onto the wicket and went hell for leather. He dominated the bowlers and went on scoring 31 off the last over which included 4 sixes and 1 four. He eventually scored an express 55 off only 19 balls. He took his team score to 167 in 20 overs. Opener Mayurghag played an anchor innings of 48 runs and carried his bat through the innings.
Chasing a score of 168, the Greensole titan’s batsmen needed to build partnerships but they didn’t succeed. The mix attack of spin and pace proved effective for the Kotak Mahindra team and they bowled out the Titans in 134 runs. The Titan batsmen were struggling to play the spinners especially. Nishant Sawant and Mayur Ghag picked up couple of wickets each. Overall, it was an exhibition of aggressive bowling backed with strategy.
Result – KOTAK MAHINDRA won the match by 33 runs.

Datamatics Global team opting to bat first at the Azad Maidan Ground mustered a decent total on board scoring 210/10 in 38.1 overs. Openers Yogesh Shinde and Aditya Biswas (28) gave a good start of 66 runs for the 1st wicket while Yogesh top scored for his team with an anchoring knock of 60 runs in 66 balls laced with 9 boundaries. Apart from him Rasik Naik (47) and Shashank Jadhav (43) at the middle order gave crucial contributions. From the bowlers, Dhananjay Keni with 3/29 was the pick of the bowlers.
Express Marketing chasing 219 were cleaned up for 129 runs all out in 23.2 overs. Saiel Surve bowled a important spell of 3/38 in 7 overs while Ritesh Palav and Shashank Jadhav bagged 2 wkts each in what turned out to be a collectively tight bowling performance.
Result-Datamatics won the match by 89 runs while Shashank Jadhav was declared ‘man of the match’
Parel SC batting first at Dadkar Maidan were all out for 188/10 in 43.3 overs with top scores by Viraj Hadkar (43), Vicky Patil (31) & Gaurav Chavan (30). From the bowlers, it was Yash Mahale with 3/56 being the pick of the lot.
Defending a modest total of 188 runs, it was Parel SC’s medium fast pacer Meghan Pednekar coming up with a scorcher of a spell taking 6/61 in 10 overs. Meghan provided timely blows and took some important wickets at the right junctures to ensure the opposition team DPC Sports Club were restricted to 118 runs all out.
