In the 2nd semi finals between Santosh Sports Cricket Academy A vs Avinash Salvi Foundation, Avinash Salvi XI opting to bat first notched up 102/5 in 20 overs backed by Abhigyan Kundu’s 53 off 60 balls as he continues to impresses with his consistency. Santosh Sports Academy A in reply could only muster a total of 89/5 in 20 overs thanks to some tight bowling by the Avinash Salvi Foundation team.
Avinash Salvi Foundation XI won the match by 13 runs while Abhigyan Kundu for his 53 runs was declared man of the match.

SBI Team opting to bat first at Bharat CC posted a total of 209/9 in 37 overs backed by impressive half centuries by Himanshu (87) and Amey (69). Both these players stitched a crucial partnership in an otherwise dismal batting show by SBI where most of the players found it difficult to get going. From the bowlers, left arm spinner Jigar Gada with 4/32 was the pick of the lot from Abhyudaya Bank.
Chasing 210, SBI bowlers ensured that Abhyudaya batters were kept in check and not allowed to win easily. The match ended up being a last over thriller with 11 runs needed of the penultimate over. With some quick wickets in between, it was Pradeep Kachan at no.3 holding fort for his team playing a very composed knock of 92* in 90 balls (6 fours). Pradeep was nicely supported by Shyam Yambe who scored an unbeaten 50* off 49 as both these players smashed the winning runs in the final over resulting in a memorable win.


Season 2
Rizvi Springfield Bandra after being put to bat first at Youth’s Own Union CC, Cross Maidan posted a decent total on the board putting on 218/6 in 40 overs powered by Awais Khan’s brilliant 103*. Awais who was the highest scorer in U14 West Zone for Mumbai continues to impress while Harsh Gharsun who is another talented cricketer scored a gritty 46 for Rizvi.
Don Bosco who were required to chase a total of 219 runs were all out for 119 in 36.4 overs. Left-arm spinner Nishit Balla who recently took a fifer in the Khelomore Cup finals continued his onslaught with the ball coming up with bowling figures of 5/18 which dismantled Don Bosco’s batting line up.
Also one interesting fact is spinner Nishit now has 51 wickets in 14 matches in last 20 days across various MCA affiliated tournaments like Khelomore Cup, MI U16, MI U14 and Summer Shield.
T20 MASTER’S CUP (GREEN) 2019-20 : Quarter final, it was MotilalOswal VS Dell EMC on 29th February 2020, the match was played at Vengsarkar academy, Mahul. MotilalOswal won the toss and elected to BAT first. The match was organized by One world sports.
It was a total top order show from Motilal Oswal, Openers Kiran Kohli (42 off 32) and Sachin Khaire (44 off 40) laid the perfect base for a huge total. The 1st wicket partnership was for 74 runs and the, Darshit zaveri played a super quick innings of 53 runs off 27 balls. They reached a team total of 182 runs in 20 overs. For DELL EMC, Virendra chaurasia was the pick of the bowlers with a figure of 3 for 46 runs in 4 overs.
DELL EMC were off to a flyer, Openers Nadeem and Chinmay Mohite, who had earlier picked up a wicket in the bowling innings laid an strong openings partnership of 91 runs in 8.4 overs. Nadeem scored an aggressive 37 runs off just 22 balls and Chinmay scored a well-constructed knock of 68 run off 43 balls that included 10 fours. After their wickets, the run rate slowed down a bit and they actually suffered 3 loses in 3 consecutive ball in the final over and only one run was needed. In a very anti-climax manner, Ashish Sharma in the lower order slammed a match winning four in the penultimate ball of the final over. The match went down the wire and it was a challenging team for both teams.
DELL EMC won the match by 3 wickets.

Entering the all important finals, RIAMS XI after putting Arch Mavericks to bat first batted really well putting on 197 runs for the loss of 8 wkts in the stipulated 20 overs. Pranay Ranka who has been very consistent this season rightly delivered in the finals too scoring a brilliant 77* off 62 balls laced with 8 boundaries. Speaking with the officiating umpire of the finals, he shared with Cricketgraph, “That guy from Pune, Pranay was playing excellent cricket, a lot of good knocks were there but Pranay’s knock was really important, the wicket was also good and both the teams had a really good outing”
Cricketgraph also asked Pranay about his knock and he shared” Played as per the situation…even after wickets went took calculated risks and never let the oppostion in the game. Put a price on my wicket initially and later on gave back to strike to nikhil as he was fresh and was connecting the ball well”
Apart from Pranay, Nikhil Jain at no.6 also played a fabulous knock hitting 60* off just 26 balls (6 fours, 3 sixes). Nikhil’s 94* run stand with Pranay in the last 6-7 overs of the game also played a very pivotal role in Arch Mavericks total of 197 runs. From RIAMS XI-Rehan Khan with 3/33 in 4 overs was the pick of the bowlers.
Chasing 198 in T20 finals is always a pressure situation and RIAMS XI must have felt the jitters getting all out for 102 runs in 18.5 overs. The bowlers did a terrific job with Shamal Palod leading the pack with exceptional bowling figures of 4/21 in 4 overs. Vimal Hansraj with 2/15 in 2.5 overs was equally effective as Arch Mavericks went on to win the game by 95 runs.
It takes a lot of efforts, fitness, team work, dedication and right spirit to perform consistently individually as well as a team together and Arch Mavericks is one team which is a relevant example for their superb fighting spirit and consistency over the years.

Mandvi Muslim Sports Club opting to bat first at Shivaji Park, Dadar managed to score 196/7 in the allotted 45 overs with opener Janardhan Gupta top scoring with 76 runs off 116 balls. Left-handed middle order batsman Sarthak Kolambekar also played well for his knock of 57 off 78 balls (6 fours, 2 sixes). SKP bowlers even though did not made the opposition team all out bowled well not allowing them to score freely maintaining good economy rates.
SKP Athletics who have been one of the promising teams this season with some good wins and strong individual performances once again lived up to their reputation winning the match by 8 wkts chasing down the total in 34.2 overs. Opener Kinshuk Rai anchored the chase with 69* off 101 balls while
Kunal Bhavsar who came at no.4 played his natural game plonking 5 sixes and 9 fours en-route his quick 46 ball 80*. Both Kinshuk and Kunal also stitched an unbeaten 117* run stand which ensured a comfortable win for SKP Athletics.
Mumbai: Dadar Union Sporting Club scored a massive 9-wicket victory against Young Mohammedan Cricket Club in a quarter-final match of the Kale Cup T20 cricket tournament and played at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana ground.
Electing to bat Young Mohammedan batsmen struggled to stay long in the middle and were cheaply bundled out for 62 runs in 12.3 overs. Sidak Singh 2 for 5 runs and Atul Singh 2 for 11 runs were mainly responsible for breaking down the Young Mohammedan’s innings.
Dadar Union comfortably surpassed the winning target scoring 66 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 8.4 overs. Bhavay Taneja made 35 runs from 30 balls with 4 boundaries. Sidak Singh was named ‘Man of the match’.
In another match, all-rounder Mussavir Khote’s superb efforts helped Bohra Cricketer snatch a tight 13-run win against Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana.
Bohra Cricketers batting first managed to put a total of 113 for 8 wickets in 15 overs. Mussavir Khote top-scored with a 33-ball 42 runs, Chetan Jaiswal 2 for 18 was Jolly Gymkhana’s successful bowler.
In reply, Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana were restricted to 100 for 7 wickets in 15 overs. Binns Neyyoth made 29 while Khote finished with 2 for 21 runs to complete the win.
The ‘Man of the match’ award was presented Mussavir Khote (Bohra Cricketers).

New Hind CC opting to bat first at Cross Maidan were cleaned up for 54 runs in 18.4 overs with just 2 players managing to score in double digits. The destroyer in chief was once again Navroz CC’s left arm spinner Nishit Balla who came up with a spell which perennially turned the game in no time. Nishit who was selected for Mumbai U14 this year returned with bowling figures of 5wkts/4runs in 6.3 overs coupled with 4 maidens. A spell which including all the middle order wickets keeping the batsman in leash.
Navroz CC in reply chased down the score in 18.4 overs winning the match by 8 wkts with Patankars-Aarush (24*) and Om (18*) doing the job with the bat.

Reliance 1 after losing two of their openers with just 10 runs on board were not off to the best starts but Saurabh Tiwary (41) and Hardik Pandya stitched a 106 run stand for the 3rd wicket. Pandya coming at no.4 smashed every bowler with absolute disdain as he went on to score a mesmerizing innings of 158* in mere 55 balls. Yes you heard that right, Pandya played with a strike rate of nearly 300 plonking 20 sixes in his unbeaten hundred to push Reliance 1 to 238/4 in 20 overs.
BPCL in reply were all out for 134 runs with Reliance 1 bowlers again doing their job with perfection. Rahul Chahar who had bagged a fifer in his previous outing again was the pick of the lot taking 3/19 in 4 overs.

Jaico Cricket Club after opting to bat first at Azad Maidan managed to post a total of 178/10 in 40 overs. Apart from their openers Gaurav Dalvi (59) and Aman Singh (42), most of the players found it difficult to tackle the wellington bowlers. Left arm spinner Ankit Jain with 3/27 was the pick of the bowlers while Mateen Mansoori and Shantanu Kadam chipped in with 2 wkts each.
Wellington CC who suffered some early blows with scoreboard reading 2/19 and 3/44 got back into the game thanks to a perfect skipper’s knock by Sagar Shah who scored a match winning 91* off 97 balls (9 fours, 2 sixes) coming at no.4. Sagar absorbed the pressure well while also got good support from Darshan Mangukia (34* off 49) as Wellington CC went on to win the game by 6 wkts chasing it down in exact 35 overs.
