The profession for sidearm bowling is growing rapidly with every passing day. Nowadays almost every International or Domestic team requires a sidearm bowler who can bowl quick with variations which results in quality practice for professional cricketers. In this ever growing market for sidearm, you certainly have to be at the top of your game to ensure you stand out from the others. One such sidearm specialist who is making a mark for himself is Rohit Sharma from Haryana.
Born in Faridabad, Haryana, Rohit started practicing cricket from the age of 11 at Shree Ram Narayan Cricket Academy under the coaching of Ashwini Sharma. Over the years he has played professional cricket for multiple teams and clubs. However, the cricket inside him did not die and neither did the sport allowed him to go away so quickly. A sidearm was born in him during that phase as he would bowl really quick and accurate with the help of sidearm stick. It was under the guidance of Ranji Trophy Player Chandra Pal Saini, he mastered the art of sidearm practice and went on to become one of the most prolific side arm specialists in Haryana.

Rohit in a span of few years has worked on a lot of aspects as a sidearm specialist where in he has added multiple variations to provide quality practice. With the sidearm stick in hand, Rohit can rattle the batters with his vicious bouncers and yorkers. Sharing with Cricketgraph, Rohit said
“I am currently working at Sportscube Center of Excellence for Cricket, Gurgaon as a sidearm specialist and it has been a great learning experience to work with a variety of players. Good length deliveries are my stock deliveries while I can also bowl Yorkers, bouncers and inswingers with great accuracy. I have also worked a lot on my speed and I can easily bowl at 135-140 kmph. My aim is to serve my Haryana State team as a sidearm specialist, give our players quality practice while my ultimate dream is to be a part of the Indian Team”

Over the years, Rohit has worked with top level IPL, Indian and State Level Cricketers right from the likes of Mohit Sharma (India & IPL), Robin Bist (India A & IPL), Jayant Yadav (IPL), Rahul Tewatia (IPL), Shahbaz Ahmed (IPL and India A) & Paras Dogra (IPL player) to name a few. What would be your opinion for a player whose batting average has not dropped below 60.00 and strike rate not dropped below 100.00? Well, when players are destined to make it big, most of them are spotted from a very young age by some coaches or senior players or selectors. These players often display those flashes of brilliance from a very raw age, be it through their naturally gifted technique or through their individual performances. 13 yr old Aryan Reddy is one such little wonder from Hyderabad who has been working hard on his game while also performing consistently across multiple age group tournaments in Hyderabad.

Aryan also has 6 centuries to his name with a best score of 139 which came off mere 76 balls representing Sanath Nagar Cricket Academy Team. Even during last 2 years of lockdown, Aryan has constantly practiced at home with multiple batting drills so that he remains in touch and doesn’t loose the sheen from his batting. Aryan’s father Sreenath Reddy is also one person who deserves a large share of credit as he is constantly on his toes to ensure Aryan gets the best possible facilities and support to pursue his cricketing career.
