Played at Punjabi Bagh Cricket Ground, the U19 6th Harbeer Memorial Cricket Tournament has kicked off pretty well with some exciting individual performances so far. Aryan Dalal who took a fifer in his previous outing this time returned with a brilliant century as he has certainly made his presence felt in this tournament.
Venkateswara Cricket Academy in Delhi batting first posted a total of 230 in 40 overs where in all-rounder Aryan Dalal batted till the very end remaining unbeaten on 101*. Aryan took mere 67 balls to smash his hundred and it was certainly one destructive innings to watch. Aryan was well supported by Tarun Kaushik who just missed out by 1 run on a well deserved half century.

Chasing 231, Sporting Club went on to successfully chase down the total winning the match by 2 wkts. The winning runs were smashed in the final over and it was indeed one close shave game. Nikhil Tyagi guided the chase with a solid half century scoring a well crafted 67 runs while Tarun Shahdat being the 2nd highest scorer with 37 runs. Venkateswara bowlers did gave their best with Ronak Waghera bowling an impressive spell of 3/15, however Sporting Club crossed the victory line in the final over.
Nikhil Tyagi for his match winning 67 was adjudged man of the match and the award was distributed by Shri Suryash Choudhary.

V.A Cricket Academy batting first at Punjab Bagh Cricket Ground mustered a decent total of 247/8 in 40 overs. Kartik Verma anchored the innings with an impressive knock of 95 runs top scoring in the match while Punit chipping in with 41 runs. The bowlers did an impressive job with Keshav Pilaniya providing crucial breakthroughs with a tight bowling spell of 3/37. Dhruv Sharma with 3/35 was equally impactful being the pick of the lot for Harry’s Cricket Academy.
Harry’s Cricket Academy in Delhi in reply chased down the total in just 36.1 overs winning the match by 3 wickets. It was a dominating performance from Harry’s Cricket Academy with Sandeep (55 runs) and Mohd Fareen (38 runs) coming up with crucial knocks.

Dombivli is one side of Mumbai which lacks adequate cricket facilities for aspiring and professional cricketers to practice. However, Friends Cricket Club has tried to fill that space by setting up a great cricketing infrastructure in Dombivli, Mumbai.
Friends Cricket Club inuagrated Indoor Cricket Nets in Dombivli on 6th of July, 2021 and its located opposite DNC High School on Nandivli Road, Dombivli East. The inuagration of Indoor Cricket Nets in Dombivli was attended by various players & students of Friends Cricket Club, the Coaches and Support staff. It was also great to see renowned Coach Dinesh Lad attending the opening ceremony as the Guest of Honor. For the uninitiated, Dinesh Lad is the Coach of various State and International Level players right from the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shardul Thakur, Harmeet Singh, Siddhesh Lad to name a few. Apart from Dinesh Sir, Uday Keluskar sir (Former Experienced Cricketer) was also present as the guest of honor during the inauguration.
The Indoor Cricket Nets in Dombivli by Friends Cricket Club at present boasts of 5 wickets out of which 3 are indoor nets. They also have one astro turf, one grass wicket and one normal paata wicket offering a wide range of practice options. Another good part at this place is fast bowlers who can take 15-18 yards run up just like how they do in a normal cricket match. Apart from having indoor nets, they also have their own academy with open age ground under the supervision of 4 qualified coaches. Vinayak Joshi and Girish More are the Head Coaches at Friends Cricket Club and Academy.

The opening match of 6th Harbeer Memorial Cricket Tournament was played at Punjabi Bagh Ground where in Surinder Khanna Academy (won toss) batting first received a brilliant fightback from Venkateswara Cricket Academy. Batting first, Surinder Khanna Cricket Academy managed a total of 196/9 in 40 overs with Tanish Sachdeva (34 runs) and Rajneesh (34 runs) were the top scorers. From the bowlers, it was none other than Spinner Aryan Dalal who turned out to be the pick of the lot. Aryan who is also a Delhi U16 player came up with an impactful bowling performance of 5/36 as he provided timely breakthroughs changing the course of the match.
Chasing 197 looked like a mere formality for Venkateswara Cricket Academy as they went on to win the match by 5 wickets & 8.4 overs to spare. The top order performed exceedingly well with Shreeyansh Mahey (59 runs), Yuvraj (40 runs) and Prashant (38 runs) chipping in with crucial contributions.

Coach Corner is one content section of Cricketgraph which envisages on covering talented and hardworking coaches from different corners of the world. One such coach whom we are going to talk about this time is passionate and dynamic Susheel Kumar from Hyderabad.
Susheel who has been a former cricketer himself has been coaching since almost a decade. Susheel began his career as a cricketer from the age of training at Lal Bahadur Stadium under Coach Kumar Shankar. His hard work and consistent performances helped him earn a state level tag as he went on to represent Hyderabad U16 & Hyderabad U19 Teams.
Beginning from a small age, Susheel recollects many performances but the ones which have been close to his heart are his 6wkt haul vs All Saints High School, a knock of 97 vs Goa in a state level match and a match winning 120 in a league match in Hyderabad. As a professional cricketer, Susheel represented many clubs right from Parishram Bhavan Club, Central Bank, Junior Railways & Lal Bahadur Cricket Club. Susheel has also played Nationals in Indoor Cricket.
Post his cricketing career, Susheel forayed into cricket coaching at the age of 29 and being an all-rounder he likes to work on every skills as a cricket coach. Sharing with Cricketgraph, Susheel shared “I am coaching since almost 9 year now, the club where I started off as a cricketer is also the club I started my innings as a coach i.e at Lal Bahadur Stadium, it certainly feels good when something like that happens. My vision has always been to give my everything honestly towards players so they become better versions of themselves with every passing day”

Susheel has also provided cricket coaching at Delhi School of Excellence and today he is an ICC Level 1 Certified Cricket Coach. Susheel today runs his own academy where he serves as the head coach at Galaxy Cricket Academy in Hyderabad. Over the years, Susheel has worked with numerous district and state level players ranging from: PRANAV NAIK (U14 HYDERABAD), LOKESH NANDA (HYD DISTRICT), ADITYA DESMUKH (HYD DIST), AGASYA MAHESHWARA, RAKESH NAIK (HYD DIST) & ADITYA HINANI (HYD DIST) to name a few.

When you have spent almost two decades playing state level & first class cricket with close to 350 wickets in first class career, you got to be a very special cricketer. Yes we are talking about Rakesh Dhruve who played from Saurashtra in Domestic Cricket. Rakesh was a slow left arm orthodox bowler who represented India A Cricket Team in 2013.
Rakesh Dhruve made his first-class debut for Saurashtra in the 1999/00 season & went on to play for almost 12 years for Saurashtra.. In 2012, Rakesh switched to Gujarat and made impressive impact with his bowling. In a Ranji Trophy group match against Rajasthan in December 2012, Rakesh Dhruve came up with a stunning spell of 6/65 in the first innings and 8/31 in the second innings.
Rakesh finished the season with 36 wickets from 8 matches at an average of 25.55. His impressive bowling was rewarded by the national selectors who drafted him into the India A squad for the three-day match against the touring Australian team in February 2013. Rakesh Dhruve returned with bowling figures of 5/31 in the first innings and 1/37 in the second innings, taking wickets of regular Test batsmen such as Shane Watson and Ed Cowan.
Rakesh began playing at the age of 11 under coaches Anil Thakrar, Ishaq Querieshi and Waman Jani in Jamnagar District Cricket Academy. His spin bowling was immediately noticed in the cricketing circles of Gujarat as he went on to represent Saurashtra in U16 and U23 age groups before making it into the senior team at the age of just 18 years. Rakesh has had a decorated career so far with many accomplishments to his name right from taking a fifer vs Australia to a 14wkt haul vs Rajasthan to an 8wkt haul vs Maharashtra in U23 level being some of his memorable performances. Rakesh has many performances right from his age group days and it would be difficult to list out only a few but speaking with Cricketgraph he shared-
I have taken fifers vs powerful teams like Bombay and Baroda in my age group days, since then I have worked hard and ensured to give my best for Saurashtra. In a career spanning almost 16 years as a first class cricketer, I have played for 3 states namely Gujarat, Vidarbha and Saurashtra and it was a special experience with every team. I missed out on India U19 team in 2000 but I am fortunate to wear the India Jersey representing the India “A” side vs the likes of Australia.
Rakesh, now 40 is enjoying his 2nd innings too as a cricket coach and he shares, he does coaching because giving it back to the game is his passion and he likes to mentor young cricketers. Even though it’s been almost a decade since he started coaching, it was in 2018, he joined Saurashtra Cricket Association as a Head Coach of U16 and U19 Teams. Rakesh is also Certified Cricket Coach while he has also appeared for BCCI Level 2 Certification. Rakesh who is currently employed by SBI is a banker by profession and occasionally plays for SBI Corporate team in the Inter Circle. Here’s wishing a great 2nd innings to Rakesh Dhruve with many more accomplishments on and off the field.

The opening ceremony which was hosted by the founders Nandu Jadhav (Head Coach) & Shreya Jadhav (CEO) also had all the working staff, academy students and their parents gracing the occasion.

The students also had an interaction with coaches while they also got a chance to hear from one of the most loved coaches of India Shri Dinesh Lad sir who has given India many successful Cricketers like Rohit Sharma, Siddhesh Lad, Harmeet Singh, Atif Attarwala, Shardul Thakur amongst many others.
The Rising Stars Indoor Cricket Turf in Bhayandar boasts of 5 nets with a generous space for cricketers to practice. The indoor nets is open on all 7 days from 5am to 10pm which is another plus point for those who are willing to practice on odd days or odd timings.

The reason why we mentioned “Cricket Personality” is because attributing just one skill wouldn’t be enough to introduce Pradeep Chawla. Pradeep Chawla has remained connected with those 22 yards in Delhi in different capacities over the years and he has been quite commendable in every role which he has performed. A former First Class Cricketer himself, Pradeep has represented Delhi in Ranji Trophy and One Days with a career spanning almost a decade from 2000/01 to 2008/09. A right handed batsman, Pradeep has played state level cricket at various age groups while he was also a part of the India U15 squad. What’s more, Pradeep had a stunning batting average of 71.20 for Delhi in the limited overs format.
After a commendable career as a cricketer, Pradeep forayed into cricket coaching and he is one of the reputed cricket coaches in Delhi. Pradeep Chawla has a prolific record of training players who are today playing at the state level. Pradeep Chawla also recently completed BCCI Hybrid Level 1 Course of cricket coaching and it’s out of his immense experience in the field of cricket, that he serves as the member of selection committee at Delhi Cricket Association for U14, U16 and U19 age groups. The job of a selector is very difficult yet under rated and it certainly requires someone who has enough cricketing acumen and Pradeep Chawla seems to be an apt face to serve in that department.

Coach Shubham Jain from Delhi is one such name who has made a name for himself when it comes to cricket coaching. Shubham Jain has been a former cricketer himself during his early days. Shubham started playing cricket at the age of 11 under Coach Mr. Binder Singh and he went on to represent teams like Delhi Club, PNB Club (Punjab National Bank) amongst others. Shubham Jain began his coaching career in 2015 and now he has close to 7 years of experience in cricket coaching.
Shubham Jain runs India Diamond Cricket Academy in Delhi located at Shastri Park near Metro Bus Depot Stand. Shubham serves as Senior coach and his areas of specialization are batting, wicket-keeping and fielding. Shubham is also BCCI Level 1 Certified Coach which ensures the players at his academy receives coaching of international standards.
