Real Cricket Academy and Samvedi Kalpavriksha CA battled at Sunder CC, Cross Maidan. Samvedi Kalpavriskah CA elected to bat first and were bowled out for a decent total of 204 in 34 overs. While Chasing, Real Cricket Academy’s Aryan Babardesai played a crucial role as he scored an unbeatedn 64 to chase down the target for Real Cricket Academy with just 2 wickets in hand.

The U-14 Mumbai Real Cricket Foundation Cup, organised for young cricketers is producing incredible performances. Such a performance was by Nikhil Verma and Tanish Shetty in a bout between Bhosale Cricket Academy and St.Antonio D’Silva High School. After choosing to bat first, Bhosale CA were bowled out in 32 overs but not before scoring at a brisk rate with the final total of 231. Although Nikhil contributed majority of the runs for the team, Tanish Shetty’s rapid 70 off just 45 deliveries propelled the final score to a competitive total.. With pressure looming, ADHS cracked and were bundled up for 197 giving the victory to Bhosale Cricket Academy by 35 runs.

On 8th November 2022, Tuesday, The U-14 Mumbai Real Cricket Foundation Cup was inaugurated by ex-India player & coach and current Royal Challengers Bangalore Coach Sanjay Bangar at Cross Madian, Mumbai. This tournament is organised for highly competitive budding cricketers under the age of 14. By participating in the MRCF Cup, the inexperienced kids have an opportunity to expose themselves to enduring adversities and better themselves as players.

Game 1 of the MRCF Cup was played at United Cricket Ground, Cross Maidan where Vanquiesh Cricket Club took on Yuva Arjun Cricket Academy. After winning the toss, the former elected to bat and absolutely dominated from the beginning till the final ball of the match. Scoring a mammoth 314/7 in mere 35 overs, Vanquiesh were well ahead in the game. Skipper Elton hammered a century as Aarav Sule contributed 88.
Beaten in the first innings brutally, Yuva Arjun CA had a dismal outing with the bat too. It took the opposition only 18 overs to bowl them out for just 66. Vanquiesh CC claimed victory by 248 runs.

On November 6, Ageas Federal took on FCC United during the Diamond Cup. The match was played on Dadar Parsi Zorastrian Cricket Club (DPZ) Ground in Mumbai.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, FCC United posted 126/7 in their full quota of 20 overs. Omkar Chaughule starred with the bat as he smashed an unbeaten 47 off 38. Chaughule hammered eight boundaries and a six in her entertaining knock. On the other hand, Kaustubh Paranjape and captain Arvind Sharma were the most successful bowlers for Ageas Federal. The duo scalped two wickets apiece.
In reply, Ageas Federal overhauled the target in 16 overs with five wickets in hand. Opening the batting, Vicky Patil led the run chase from the front with a blistering 80 off 40. Patil smashed 14 boundaries and a six during his blitzkrieg. For FCC United, Om Yadav was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed 11/2 in four overs.
With this win, Ageas Federal have made their way to the finals of the Diamond Cup.
National CC won convincingly against the Young Maharashtra CC in the Purshottam Shield. Young Maharashtra were bowled out in only 28 overs with just 150 on boards. With no remarkable batting performance, it was the dominant bowling from Nation CC which enforced errors. Saeed Shaikh was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets as he conceded just 19 runs. It took just over 23 overs for National CC to chase down the target with ease. Vishal Dhagaonkar’s 63 and Aaditya Srivastava’s 59* made sure Young Maharashtra lose the game.

Another successful runchase in the white ball Purshottam Shield as DY Patil successfully chased down a target against Cricket Club of India. CCI managed to score 237 in 45 overs. Aakash Anand scored an impressive century as he contributed the bulk of runs for CCI. Prashant Bhoir from DY Patil bowled an incredible spell by picking up 4 wickets and giving away only 38 runs. DY Patil’s batting unit contributed bit by bit to complete the target set by CCI. Ashay Sardesai and Suryansh Shedge made sure the score board was ticking in the middle overs. An unbeaten 50 from Anand Bous and a quickfire 48* from Iqbal Abdullah got DY Patil across the line with just 9 balls to spare.

In a head-to-head competition between Mumbai Police Gymkhana and Goregaon SC, the former comfortably prevailed in the Purshottam Shield. Goregaon SC batted first and scored a decent total of 288 in 45 overs. All rounder Aryan Patni finished off the innings as he notched up an unbeaten 96. Jiniv Joshi managed to score a half century as well. A seemingly challenging target, Mumbai Police Gymkhana chased it down with relative ease. Rohit Pol high scored with 82. Apart from his contributions, the Police batting unit came alive as a whole. Valuable runs by Police Gymkhana Skipper Swapnil Kulaye, Mansing Chavan, Sunil Patil and Shrikant Limbole made sure the target was chased comfortably. With almost 30 balls to spare, Mumbai Police Gymkhana completed the chase with 5 wickets in hand.

The 2022 Purshottam Shield continues to produce exciting close games. The tournament gave another enticing game between Karnataka SC and MIG CC. Karnataka batted first and scored a decent target of 260 in 44.5 overs. Ramanpreet Ghoman and Rakesh Prabhu’s half centuries helped contribute towards the total as Gautam Waghela missed his half century by just 4 runs. MIG’s bowlers had a decent outing as well. Shivaji Yadav, Ankush Jaiswal and Atharva Ankolekar, all managed to claim 3 wickets each as they bowled out Karnataka with a ball to spare. The second innings was nothing short of riveting. MIG batsman Om Keshkamat scored an amusing 83 as he toyed with the bowlers. Apart from the ball, Atharva Ankolekar contributed with the bat as he scored 44. Despite Rakesh Prabhu’s 3-wicket haul, MIG won by the skin of their teeth with a wicket in hand and 3 balls to spare.

Batting first, New Hind SC hammered a whopping 382 in their 45 overs losing 6 wickets. Siddhant Adhatrao hammered the PJ Hindu bowler’s all over the place as he scored 193. Rugved More also contributed 66. With a few more contributions in the middle, New Hind SC ended up with 382 on the board. Just like the bat, New Hind were dominant with the ball too. It required just 21 overs for New Hind to dismiss any sort of challenge from PJ Hindu Gymkhana as they were bundled up for just 119. Akshay Jambhekar was the pick of the bowlers picking up 4 wickets.

Bhatnagar’s Atharv Dakway picked up 4 wickets attempting to give his team a chance to turn things around. In the second innings, Ajit Yada scored 49 runs and Fenil Soni contributed 38.
